Trace Cyrus Takes On The Jonas Brothers And Their Image
Written by Violet on August 14, 2009 – 9:03 am -Trace Cyrus is better known as Miley Cyrus’ older brother and I’m sure that can get annoying after a while. While I would guess he is proud to be her sibling, he would naturally want to make his own mark on the music world with his band, Metro Station. Giving an interview with MensStyle.com Cyrus gave a few provocative quotes that will help raise his own profile, especially what he says regarding The Jonas Brothers:
Q: But you idolize bands like Guns N’ Roses and Mötley Crüe, and you party in ways pop acts like the Jonas Brothers couldn’t.
A: I’m not trying to clean my image to make anyone happy. I could have gone the route of the Jonas Brothers. Those guys can’t live their lives freely. They have to put out this image that’s totally fake.Q: Which Jonas Brother would be the toughest to take in a fight?
A: I don’t think any of them would be much trouble. I’d never lay a hand on Nick—I love that kid—but the other two better not get in my way.
While the JoBros may never own up publicly to that, I have to agree. They definetly seem to be boxed in by the image that has been crafted for them.
Cyrus also talks about the music scene today – how hard it is to get heard on the radio and how much more open European fans are to new bands (a sentiment echoed by Kings Of Leon recently as well.)
Check out the official Metro Station website here and find out where to catch the band live.

Chace Crawford Training For ‘Footloose’
Written by Violet on August 13, 2009 – 11:26 pm -While Chace Crawford is making headlines this week for his under-the-radar-romance with ‘Twilight’ & ‘New Moon’ actress Ashley Greene, the actor is getting some serious dance skills under his belt for his role in the remake of ‘Footloose.’ Crawford has to work at creating a new take on the classic movie and has said the original star, Kevin Bacon, is behind his choice to change the way Ren McCormack is portrayed.
I want to do something different. No one wants to imitate. It’s gonna be one of those things,” he insisted. He also claimed that Bacon has supported his idea, saying “I’m just thrilled that he’s supporting it.” However, when asked whether the original star will appear as a cameo in the remake, Crawford refused to confirm but teased, “You never know. We’ll see.”
The actor is in New York City now filming ‘Gossip Girl’ episodes for the new season and in between is working a new set of muscles. The ‘modern adaption’ with Crawford and Julianne Hough, is due in theaters June 2010.

Vanessa Hudgens Talks with Moviefone
Written by Violet on August 13, 2009 – 8:11 pm -Vintage shopping with Mary Kate Olsen, kissing costar Gaelen Connell, shooting a movie on the Seychelles Islands and dating Zac Efron are just a few of the things Vanessa Hudgens has done that you and I won’t ever do. The actress spoke to Moviefone about her latest movies: ‘Bandslam’ and ‘Beastly,’ her new house in Los Angeles and all the other pretty cool things she’s gotten to do.
On her awkward kissing scene with Connell in ‘Bandslam’: “The kissing with Gaelan was awesome. I loved the scene. I thought it was so funny. It was very choreographed and, yeah, it was very fun. I’m happy with the way it turned out.”
Read the rest of the interview at Moviefone and go ahead – be envious – she has been fortunate enough to do some pretty great things.

‘New Moon’ Cover EW’s Fall Movie Preview Issue
Written by Violet on August 13, 2009 – 7:04 pm -Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart are on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s Fall Movie Preview issue. As it turns out, Stewart was Lautner’s biggest supporter, way back when it was possible Taylor could get the boot by Summit - just as what happened with Rachelle Lefevre recently.
“It’s completely understandable why they wanted to make sure he was right,” says the actress. “He was so young, 16, so I got it. But I knew he had [to do] it. Just because of how I felt around him.” And how did the Bella-Jacob best-friend chemistry play out on set? “We have that relationship,” she says. “It’s lamely cute.”
More outtakes, photos and quotes will be coming from the article.

New Scene Added for ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’
Written by Violet on August 13, 2009 – 6:49 pm -While the talk is all about ‘Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse’ lately, we can’t forget the Harry Potter saga is coming to an end soon and cast and crew are hard at work filming the final installment. ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’ is book seven in the series and reports are coming in that a new scene, not from the book, is being added to the movie to showcase the continuing battle between good magic and evil wizards. The video above shows the burned out trailers that the Death Eaters have attacked and Hermoine (Emma Watson) and Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) arrive too late to help.
This is a first I believe, completely new content not from any of JK Rowling’s writings or books. Check out the youtube while it lasts, with unauthorized David Bowie music, it will most likely be pulled.
The final book will be made into two movies, part one premieres November 2010 and part two in July 2011.

Gaelen Connell: ‘Bandslam’ Is Like ‘Juno’ Meets ‘School Of Rock’
Written by Violet on August 13, 2009 – 5:35 pm -Lots of big movies opening this weekend, including the teen musical ‘Bandslam’ and star Gaelen Connell wants you to know it’s different than ‘High School Musical.’ With the obvious similarities of costar Vanessa Hudgens and having a musical competition central to it’s theme, Connell says that is where the comparisons should end.
“This is like an actual high school for the 95 percent of us who were kind of friends with popular kids, then kind of friends with the not popular kids, and I think it’s pretty interesting to see that in a Hollywood film because it’s usually so black and white. You know, there’s a cheerleader, then like I said, there’s McLovin. This is not like that at all, it’s very edgy and real.”
Check out his interview with MTV and hear him declare Taylor Swift is “super hot.”
Who’s going to see this tomorrow? Are you just going for the ‘New Moon’ trailer?
