Jonas Brothers New Nintendo DS Game

Written by Violet on October 4, 2009 – 7:58 pm -

The Jonas Brothers are part of a new Nintendo DS Game based on their hit Disney show JONAS.

The game follows the Lucas brothers as they go about their everyday, but not so normal lives. It features other main characters from the show, including good friends Macy and Stella, and lets fans explore familiar locations including the brother’s firehouse and school as seen in the television show. Players can also customise the JONAS band members’ wardrobe for their daytime antics, as well as cool outfits for when they take the stage.

Written by Violet on October 4, 2009 – 7:18 pm -

Rupert Grint’s movie Cherrybomb was having a hard time finding distribution so a grassroots internet campaign was set up to get the movie into theaters. GossipTeen gave you the link here a few days ago to be a part of the online community support. Now with everyone who’s signed the petition, the film will find it’s way to movie houses in the UK. There is a deal in the works still for the United States but all things Rupert are looking up.

Grint said that he was delighted by the fighting spirit of his fans. “I am backing this campaign wholeheartedly,” he said. “I’m delighted by the huge support the film has already received on the official Facebook page and other sites on the web and am so grateful to my fans in particular, who have travelled the world to support the film at festivals and preview screenings.”

Rupet’s fansite IceCreamMan was instrumental in seeing his film get the attention it deserves.

Emma Watson “Shaken” By Harvard Voice Magazine Campaign

Written by Violet on October 2, 2009 – 8:29 pm -

Brown University freshman Emma Watson was the target of some vicious people at Harvard Voice Magazine during the football game between the Harvard and Brown. There was tweeting of her exact whereabouts during the game and a general campaign to make her feel uncomfortable and draw lots of attention to her. The usually low key actress was reportedly “visibly shaken” by the incidents.

The Harvard Voice also posted a picture of Watson on its Web site and proclaimed its stalking mission a “success.” Some readers were furious. “There is a locatable cause of Watson’s experience at Harvard Stadium and a blameworthy party,” read one online rebuke. “Anybody can do anything unfeelingly to anybody in this day and age, especially if they feel imbued with entitlement from membership in Harvard College.”

Eventually the mag’s editor thought it was worthy of their time to post a note saying it was “much ado about nothing…” When that still didn’t satisfy, the editor tried again:

“The presence of a luminary on campus inevitably creates much speculation and excitement, certainly without the help of an intentionally facetious liveblog,” she wrote. “The Voice denies any efforts to ‘orchestrate’ a mass mob of gawkers. In fact, the bloggers were never certain whether or not Watson was actually present and never once caught a glimpse of her… The blog was meant as an intentionally sensationalist parody for which no real action was taken.

“The Voice apologizes for any misunderstanding that the live blog may have caused and for any discomfort Miss Watson may have felt due to the post,” she concluded.

I find it very hard to believe that they didn’t mean to cause her “discomfort.” Posting that she was there (and they did take at least one picture of her that is now off the Voice’s site – but still on the net) was inviting a crowd to form and then what? Was it a “parody” of how many people would show up? What did they want to happen? Her safety could have been in jeopardy and for what? I hope that Emma is able to enjoy campus life as a normal teenager going to college as much as possible but with no more lousy behavior like this.

Kristen Stewart Reveals Herself to Interview Magazine

Written by Violet on October 2, 2009 – 7:54 pm -

The cover of the upcoming 40th anniversary edition of Interview Magazine belongs to Kristen Stewart. The Twilight Saga actress has a great rapport with actor Dennis Hopper, who interviews her for the issue. Here is an excerpt about the pressure she’s under to do well in the sequel – ‘New Moon:’

HOPPER: Have you been able to enjoy it? Or do you feel more pressure doing these sequels?

STEWART: I do feel more of a pressurized strain than what is typical for me. Usually, what drives you is your own personal responsibility to the script and the character and the people you are working with. But in this case, I have a responsibility not only to that but to everyone who has personal involvement in the books—and now that spans the world. It’s an insane concept. There are certain things in Twilight . . . As much as I’m proud of that movie and I do like it, I feel like maybe I brought too much of myself to the character. I feel like I really know Bella now. But most readers feel like they know Bella because it’s a first-person narrative. She’s like a little vessel and everyone experiences the story through her. All of these girls who are fans personally feel like they encapsulate that character. So it’s like, “How the hell am I going to do that for all of them? It’s impossible!” But I’ve decided, if you’re just unabashedly honest all of the time, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

The pressure to live up to the hype and be every fan’s idea of Bella must be intimidating. I am glad to see that she is holding her own and continuing to forge ahead and play the character while trying to put the hype behind her.
