Zach Roerig is still a small town boy at heart. The Vampire Diaries actor – he plays Matt Donovan, Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) ex and Caroline’s (Candice Accola) maybe current boyfriend – gave Teen Vogue a peek into how he got started acting, his family history with gravestones and a big red barn he’s working on.

On the gravestones: Yeah, my family business was monuments. I’d been doing that since I was able to tie my own work boots. I’m from a really, really small town in Ohio and it was always set up that I was going to be the guy to take over the business. Then in high school, I told my folks I might want to give acting a shot.

Not going into the family business: When I was like 16, I drove to Cleveland every weekend to study at a small boutique acting school–it’s actually the same school that Sean Faris started out at, and that’s how I knew him before he came on the show [as Mystic Grill's bartender Ben McKittrick]. Then three days after high school, I took off for New York.

Summer downtime or If you build it, they will come: Ideally, I’d like to do a movie. But if I’m not, I’ll be in L.A doing some paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, and probably some surfing. I’ll go back to Ohio to finish some work on my barn–we have a family barn that’s really, really old. I’m going to get it stained barn red and get it painted. This is going to sound really country, but I’d like to get it in an Ohio barn magazine or something. I don’t know if there is an Ohio barn magazine–I might even try to get one published.

His barn painting days may be numbered. It looks like Roerig’s storyline and screen time will be expanding as his mom makes an appearance (the characters all find out Vicki is dead) and I like pairing Matt with Caroline on the show. New episodes of TVD return March 25th.

Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer take the leads in this modern adaptation of the classic fairytale ‘Beauty and The Beast.’ Costarring Mary Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris, Beastly opens in theaters July 30th 2010.

Mia Wasikowska stepped out on the green carpet for the Alice In Wonderland premiere in London on Thursday February 25th. Tim Burton’s re-imagining of the classic tale, starring Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham-Carter hits theaters stateside on Friday March 5th.

Attending the London premiere of Alice In Wonderland, singer Avril Lavigne took to the rainy night’s green carpet in a beautiful black gown and diamond necklace.

Contributing to the soundtrack her song “Alice” will play over the end credits of the film. Lavigne will stop by The Tonight Show on March 3rd as Jay Leno takes back the hosting chair.

Actress Nikki Reed was quite impressed when she saw her Twilight co-star Kellan Lutznearly naked in Calvin Klein underwear for their new advertising campaign (photos here).

“I think he looks fantastic I’m actually really proud of him. It takes a lot of balls, no pun intended, to stand and pose like that,” Reed said. “I wouldn’t have the guts to stand there naked like that.”

Unless, she added with a laugh, “I looked like Eva Mendes.”

Kellan wasn’t exactly naked… it’s like he is on the beach but wearing tight fitting white underwear! Of course you need some confidence to pose like that. But with a body like Kellan’s, we don’t think he has confidence issues. He is a GUY!!

American Idol Top 24 contestant Katie Stevens is only 17 years old but she has a very powerful, strong voice that completely surprised the judges at her first audition. Katie wants to become the next Idol to share the dream with her super cute Portuguese grandma, who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

American Idol Top 24 contestant Aaron Kelly is a very talent, adorable and cute 16 year-old who has the dream of becoming a teen role model and proving that if you can dream it, you can have it. Aaron sang Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” in his first audition (watch video here) and keeps surprising us with fantastic performances ever since.

Aaron has a very sweet and touching life story – his parents weren’t capable of taking care of him and his little brother and his aunt, who he calls mom, adopted them both sparing them for a difficult childhood in foster care. We are rooting for Aaron! We luv him!!

We would expect Miley Cyrus to take her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth to the Oscars but it seems like their relationship is going through a rough patch. Liam is grounded. Yes, Liam won’t go to the Oscars because Miley doesn’t want him there.

A source says, “Liam’s a pretty low-key guy anyway. He doesn’t mind not going.” The truth is Miley doesn’t want to be overshadowed by their romance. Diva-ish! Miley wants to keep their relationship private and doesn’t want it to be subjected to the analysis and criticism by the media.

So who will be Miley’s date?? That is a good question. In my opinion Miley and Zac Efron should go together but Zac will obviously want to pimp up his girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens. We heard Justin Bieber is available!!

Rocker chicks Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and Cherie Curie (Dakota Fanning) made a musical revolution when they formed the band “The Runaways”. Their adventures were turned into a movie and here is the new TV spot for the film, which premieres on March 19 (video above).

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz and his loyal rescued dog, Kola, star in a new campaign “Adopt, Don’t Buy” for PeTA. Save a homeless animal from a tragic destiny instead of spending a fortune in a pet store or breeder. Please consider adoption first if you feel lonely and want to be a true companion.

Animals sold at pet shops often come from “puppy mills” where they are cramped, filthy, and unhealthy conditions and lack proper veterinary care. Kellan says, “It’s our job to take [animals] under our wing and take care of them and give them a place to live.” (watch video below)
