The May issue of Seventeen magazine has the always sweet Shailene Woodley on the cover. The Secret Life of the American Teenager star talks about her scoliosis and wearing a brace through two years of high school and what she likes to do for fun:

What it was like wearing a brace: “What sucked was I could only have it off six hours a day. So I had to sleep in it; I had to do everything in it. And the worst part for me was in summer, when all my friends were in bikinis, and I could be in a bikini and have the brace off, but then I’d have to put it back on with salt water and sand on me, and drive home with the brace on. There were times when I just wanted to tear it off and times I cried and I’d hate it or it just got so painful.”

A fun time for Shailene: “I would much rather go hang out at a music venue. If it’s an 80′s party or some kind of theme, I’m totally in. I’m not big on going to a club and dressing slutty and giving guys standing-up lap dances. It’s not me.
