The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – A Director Is Chosen

Summit Entertainment has announced who the director for the fourth (perhaps fifth) film of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be. The chair goes to Bill Condon, the Oscar winner who steered Dreamgirls and Jennifer Hudson to Academy Award glory. Of course, Summit is dragging out the rest of the questions everyone wants answered: four films or five? 2D or 3D? Will everyone return to their original roles? When will filming start? (fall is the most likely) What is the target date for release? Here is Condon’s statement:

“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience,” said Bill Condon.

While no one is officially locked down, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner’s schedules are suspiciously empty come fall and all are expected to sign on. (Let’s not have another Rachelle Leferve fiasco again, please.)

Finally a little movement on the final film in the Twilight series.
