Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus is in a completely new stage of her career now. The 17 year-old, whose new album “Can’t Be Tamed” comes out on Monday (June 21), is currently in negotiations to star in a movie adaptation of Lisa McMann’s thriller “Wake”.

“Wake” is the first in a trilogy of novels by McCann that chronicle the adventures of 17-year-old Janie, a teenager who has been able to see into other people’s dreams since she was 8 years old.

For the most part, the dreams have been of the falling/drowning/forgetting-your-pants variety, but when she begins visiting the disturbing nightmares of a local pothead named Cabel, she realizes she that the only way to survive is to go from being a witness to an active participant.

“Disturbia” writer Christopher Landon is working in this movie, which has the potential of becoming a trilogy. Lisa McMann’s scary first installment of Janie and Cabel’s adventures is followed by “Fade” and “Gone”. This could be the opportunity for Miley to become a major mainstream actress.
