Chord Overstreet – ‘Glee’s’ New Guy Goes For The Gold

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 11:17 am -

Chord Overstreet is the new guy on the Glee block. In last week episode, we saw Overstreet’s Sam go for it with head cheerio Quinn (Dianna Agron) and the two definitely light up the screen when they are together. In the October 26th episode that uses The Rocky Horror Picture Show as it’s inspiration/theme, Chord is Rocky in all his golden shorts glory. E!Online’s Watch With Kristen nabbed some one on one time with him and he dished some details on Sam’s relationship future with Quinn, a possible Puck-off, how come Sam rarely wears a shirt and is he dating Rumer Willis:

Does Sam get the girl: “I really love working with Dianna so far, and we have good chemistry,” says Chord. “I’d definitely like to see that go somewhere. There’s a spark between us, and something there that Sam will try to pursue. He has to be delicate with it because of what happened with Quinn and the baby last year. He understands that about her, and is trying to take a slow approach to it.”

Do Puck and Sam take it outside: “It all depends on how Puck (Mark Salling) still feels about Quinn,” he laughs. “We could get at it with each other. He obviously had a kid with her. He’s in juvie now and in comes the new guy stealing his ex-woman?”

Shirtless Sam sends everyone swooning: “I talked to my agent and said that basically I’m the Taylor Lautner of TV. We both have our shirts off a lot. And we have the same agent so we goof around about it. I’m waiting to open a script and see my shirt on.” Hey, it’s not so bad, right? “For every episode I have my shirt off, I get a bonus. Like a $50,000 check with my name on it.” Relax, he’s just joshin’.
The rumors about him and Rumer: Chord says he’s single. “If you go out in public anywhere, people are going to assume that you are dating,” he told Ryan Seacrest on his morning show this week. “We’re just friends. She tried to get me to dance, and I’m not a really good dancer, so I was hesitant on that one.”

Chord’s character is a terrific addition to Glee. I certainly hope he turns into a regular on the series and that creator Ryan Murphy really begins to delve into his character’s story arc more. NO MORE THEME EPISODES.

Harry Potter Posters – Still More

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 10:42 am -

Two more Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 movie posters have surfaced. This time Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy and Dobby the House Elf get the super close up shots. The posters really do convey the sense of tragedy and fear that these last two movies are set to bring about.

I have to say – I am looking forward to the movie, but hope the posters are going to come to and end. It’s only a month more to go before the movie debuts (November 19th.) I know I want behind the scenes interviews with the cast and some more teaser clips. Thankfully at least one new trailer is on the horizon. The new clip is set to be shown at tonight’s Spike TV 2010 Scream Awards. The ceremony takes place tonight in Los Angeles but won’t be shown until Tuesday October 19th. I’ll probably watch it just for that.

Taylor Swift Goes For Bliss

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 6:46 am -

Taylor Swift nabbed the cover of Bliss magazine. The Speak Now singer spoke to the UK publication about her friend Selena Gomez and how she doesn’t like confrontation:

Are you a confrontational person? “No, I don’t like conflict. I don’t like to raise my voice. It’s just not something that I’m very good at or inclined to do, but it doesn’t mean I don’t get mad or hurt, or resentful or frustrated and feel those same things.”

Selena recently told BLISS she looks on you as a big sister – would you agree? “I’d definetly say we have a sister relationship. I’ve never had a sister but I think if I did and I had this sweet, perfect younger sister, it would be Selena. I feel like she’s my age, though. I forget she’s 18.”

The November issue featuring Taylor’s cover and interview is out now.

Emma Roberts & Josh Hutcherson Go Indie With Neil Patrick Harris

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 6:27 am -

Pairing up for the big screen, Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson are starring in Aaron and Saraha romantic indie comedy directed by Neil Patrick Harris. The movie centers around popular teen Sarah (Roberts) and her BFF (BFF was the original title) a nerdy kinda of guy Aaron (Hutcherson) and how they navigate through four years of high school drama and still remain friends.

This will be the How I Met Your Mother star’s first feature film as director but not the only time he has helmed a production. Harris took the reigns of the Hollywood Bowl production of the musical RENT this summer with Vanessa Hudgens.

Mysterious ‘Tower Prep’ Lands On Cartoon Network

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 6:01 am -

Tower Prep - sounds formal, stuffy and maybe even a little boring – but this prep school is anything but. The new show on Cartoon Network (not animated, by the way) about gifted teens with supernatural secret abilities is described as a cross between Harry Potter and I Am Number Four.

The show centers around several real teens played by Drew Van Acker, Elise Gatien, Ryan Pinkston and Dyana Liu, who attend a mysterious preparatory high school. Each of them has a secret power and Drew’s character is just discovering what his is – that’s the part that is kind of like ‘I Am Number Four.’ The school itself is a bit like Hogwarts in the sense that it’s only for gifted students. But that’s where the similarities end. The school is kind of creepy and its headmaster is no Prof Dumbledore. Yeah, we said it. We don’t like him.

The four teens spend their time investigating the school’s hidden agenda while trying to escape.

The live action adventure drama premieres on Tuesday October 19th.

City Of Bones Is Headed To The Big Screen

Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 5:26 am -

Author Cassandra Clare’s book City of Bones will (finally!) be made into a movie. The first in the teen sci-fi/fantasy series The Mortal Instruments, has a script and should start casting fairly soon. Here is the official announcement:

Screen Gems has teamed with Constantin Film and Unique Features to develop the motion picture franchise MORTAL INSTRUMENTS based on The New York Times Bestselling book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.  Jessica Postigo penned the script which is based on the first book in the series, City of Bones.  Constantin Film’s head of Film & TV Martin Moszkowicz will executive produce and Robert Kulzer will produce the project via the Constantin Film banner along with producing partners Michael Lynne, Robert Shaye, and executive producer Dylan Sellers via their Unique Features banner.

In City of Bones, set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendent of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world.  When Clary’s mother disappears, she must join a daring group of young Shadowhunters on an adventure, which leads her through a city filled with mischievous fairies, eccentric warlocks, werewolf gangs and other strange creatures.

I loved the books and hope that they get a great director who can pull it off.

Now for the fun part: Who do you want as Clary, Jace, Simon, Alec and Isabelle? Everyone wants Alex Pettyfer for Jace but I think with his parts in both Beastly and I Am Number Four he would be unlikey to take a role in another sci-fi movie. I’d like to see Bonnie Wright for Clary. Any thoughts?

Justin Bieber 3-D Movie: “Never Say Never” Poster

Written by Gossip Gal on October 15, 2010 – 5:56 pm -

Teen superstar Justin Bieber’s 3-D movie title and poster have just been released. The 16 year-old is the star of the “documentary” titled Never Say Never” (poster above), which will hit theaters in February of 2011.

Justin Bieber – First Step 2 Forever: My Story Book Cover PHOTO

Why “Never Say Never” you ask? Well, everybody used to say Justin couldn’t make it and that he would never become a star because no one would ever watch his silly YouTube videos.

“It’s from one of his songs, but also the idea of every moment in his life,” says director Jon Chu. “When he was a kid, some people said, ‘You can’t play the drums,’ and he did. Or, ‘You can post it on the Internet, but no one will see it.’ Then millions of people saw it. ‘OK, you’re a YouTube star, but you’re not signed anywhere …’ “

Yep, Justin did it! He is a major superstar. And if you are wondering, “Never Say Never” is also the name of the song featuring Jaden Smith, which is part of the movie “Karate Kid” soundtrack.

Mark Salling Is DaMan Magazine Amazing

Written by Violet on October 15, 2010 – 8:30 am -

Glee’s amazing Mark Salling grabs your attention on the cover of DaMan magazine for the October/November 2010 issue of the guy glossy. The actor and musician has just released his first solo album Pipe Dreams and has lots to say about his music, his writing process and the surprise success of Glee:

On Pipe Dreams: “This album was a long time coming. It is actually 13 selected tracks from my library that I have compiled over the last 10 years. I wanted to choose a wide variety of songs that showcased my broad musical taste.”

On what inspires him to write: “It can be anything, from the typical love and loss to thinking you are having a bad day; then seeing someone who is a quadriplegic and realizing that you need to count your blessings … oh, and my grandma.”

On what he’d be doing if he weren’t an actor and musician: “I would probably be working in the veterinary field, possibly doing wild bird and small mammal rehabilitation. It is something I feel very passionate about.”

On whether he’d anticipated Glee’s huge success: “I don’t think anybody did, but I had a really good feeling based on the pilot script, so I felt like it had a good chance of being (successful and winning awards). But we work very hard, so any kind of accolade is gratifying.”

Taylor Swift Parade Magazine Cover & Photos

Written by Violet on October 15, 2010 – 8:05 am -

Taylor Swift gets the cover for the Sunday edition (October 24th) of Parade magazine. Swift’s photo shoot for the weekly mag is charming and the singer opens up about love, song apologies, fame and appreciating her friends and happiness in the inteview. Here is a preview of what she has to say:

On her love life.
“Things change so quickly. I have no idea who’s going to be a recurring character and who’s just a guest star for one episode. Love is fascinating. Wishing for it, pining for it, and the anger that comes when you lose it. I used to think that I could figure out some pattern to love, like if you don’t text a guy back for a half hour, he’ll like you more. But there is no pattern. Absolutely nothing is predictable in love or in life.”

On the bittersweet mea culpa “Back to December,” from her new album Speak Now.
“Guys get what they deserve in my songs, and if they deserve an apology, they should get one. There was someone who was absolutely wonderful to me and I dropped the ball, and I needed to say all that.”

On her own fame.
“I don’t like to feel like I’m some fragile package that has to be shipped by high-priority mail and handled with white gloves.”

On dropping in on a journalism class at the University of Kansas, where her best friend from high school is a junior.
“I just kind of walked in and sat down and tried to learn something. Even if you’re happy with the life you’ve chosen, you’re still curious about the other options. Sometimes I will make a glass of iced tea and watch life go by. I chose one road and didn’t choose the other, but I can still see what that one looks like. In the past year I figured out that happiness is what everybody wants more than anything. Now I think if you’re in the middle of your day and you realize you’re just happy in the moment, you should celebrate that.”

Lots more photos of Swift and the cover shot are below. Read more »
