The LAPD is on celebrity watch again today, and for once, it’s not because Lindsay Lohan’s alcohol monitoring bracelet went off.

According to reports, Wizards of Waverly Place star and recording artist Selena Gomez has received an alarmingly imminent death threat from Thomas Brodnicki, a 46-year-old man with an ample criminal and psychiatric history.

After being picked up by police last month for threatening to “scratch people’s eyes out on the street”, Brodnicki was brought in for a psych-evaluation with his psychiatrist, where he revealed that,

He traveled from Chicago to L.A. to meet [Gomez], visited her workplace at least three times and has told people he had conversations with God about killing her.

Death threats from a 46-year-old dude?  And here I was thinking they were from some crazed teenaged girl with Bieber Fever!

Okay, sorry – this is no laughing matter.

Apparently the LAPD is taking the threats “extremely seriously” (as they should be) and Brodnicki has been issued a restraining order.

Jason Derulo!

We just thought we should start this post out the same way as Mr. Derulo starts all his songs.

Despite reports that hip-hop artist, the aforementioned Derulo, is dating American Idol winner Jordan Sparks, the 22-year-old insists that they are “just friends”, Tweeting,

Jordan Sparks is an absolute sweetheart. She’s a very nice girl. We’ve been friends for a while now. We’re just friends.

But a source close to the Derulo says the two have had eyes for each other since Sparks lost over 30lbs and started turning some serious heads in Hollywood.

She lost over 30 pounds and looks amazing – and he told her. It started there and they have been really reconnecting, now as lovers and not just friends.

Ew.  Don’t say “lovers”.

Will we see a Derulo/Sparks mashup sometime soon?  Stop that.  I meant on the radio.  Get your heads out of the gutter!

Welcome!  Welcome, one and all!  Welcome to GossipTeen’s inaugural installment of NEW MUSIC MONDAY!  We asked you to send in your NMM requests via Twitter, and this week’s pick comes from @XandrMurgatroyd, who suggested the Nashville-based band, Foster the People.

Ask and you shall receive people, ask and you shall receive.

In the few short months since releasing their first single “Pumped Up Kicks” Foster the People has taken the indie-pop music world by storm.  Formed in 2009 by frontman Mark Foster (ooooh, we get it now) and  Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink, the band’s first release from their album “Torches” reached #3 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Alternative Songs charts; an impressive feat for a band that’s only slightly older than Lindsay Lohans’ smile.

While the FTP’s impressive success right out of the gate would have many sitting back on their laurels, Mark^2 and Cubbie (which is a LEGIT awesome name btw) ain’t slowin’ down.  No, not one bit.  The trio appeared on Saturday Night Live on October 8th to promote their upcoming release “Houdini” and, in keeping with the indie musician tradition of being weird, the band asked iconic saxophonist, Kenny G to join them for their performance.

Being sick is only news when you’re a celebrity.  And on that note: Miley Cyrus is sick – “and stuff like that”.

The Disney star took to her Twitter Saturday night to let her nearly 3 million followers know that she was feeling under the weather and that her uber-cute BF, Liam Hemsworth was by her side, catering to her every whim.  Or at least most of her whims, anyway.

Being sick sucks. Only perk is laying on the couch with my boo all day watching movies and him making me whatever I want for dinner #ravioli

Sick in bed. Don’t know what I’d do without Liam, Lila, & Floyd.

Whoa, she’s comparing Liam to her dogs now?  Kid’s totally in.

Miley’s had her fair share of bumps in the road lately, so we’re glad to see that her life taking is a much needed turn for the normal.

And stuff like that.

Talk about being out of your element!

Country artist Kellie Pickler is gearing up for her small screen debut (American Idol doesn’t count), guest starring on the October 18th episode of 90210.  According to reports, Pickler will play “Sally”, a country singer, and cousin to Austin (Justin Deely), who comes into town just in time to play her new single “Tough”, during a college talent show/fundraiser.

Man, she’s really gonna have to dig deep for this one.

Kellie joked with fans about preparing for her role via her official website.

Well my zip code growing up was a long way from 90210 so it will definitely be acting… I’m really excited and a little bit nervous about it but will be a fun and unique place to perform “Tough.”

Pickler’s single, “Tough” is currently #30 on the Country Music charts.

Although Julianne Hough is best known for her role on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, the dancer, turned country singer, turned actress claims to know a thing or two about making good movies.

Hough, who stars as Ariel Moore in the 2011 remake of the classic 1980′s film Footloose, says that fans of the original should give the new version a chance, before passing judgement.

We didn’t mess this up… Just go see it; there’s so many skeptical people out there that have gone to see it already and we’ve changed their minds.

I don’t know Julianne – it may just be impossible to top Kevin Bacon in his prime…

However, Kenny Wormald is willing to give it the old college try – the 27-year-old made his big screen debut in 2008′s Center Stage: Turn it Up (buuuut, we doubt any of you saw that…) but really gets a chance to shine across from Hough as the rebellious Ren MacCormack.

Teen pop sensation Justin Beiber has fans on all seven continents.  And yes, I am including Antarctica.  If you don’t think penguins like The Bieb, you’re crazy.

Beiber is slated to play two shows in Chile this weekend, and his fans were chomping at the bit for the well-coifed singer’s arrival – so much so, in fact, that they showed up at his hotel in droves – a day too early.  Accoring to sources, the mob of fans was so intense that “the hotel had to call the police to bring barricades and close off the entire neighborhood.”

Hey, you can’t blame them for being a little over-excited.

After hearing about the mistake, Bieber took to his Twitter to reassure his Chilean fans that he was on his way!

CHILE is tomorrow but I think they are ready. wow…. CHILE GOES SO HARD!!!

For safety’s sake, Biebs will be helicoptered in to his hotel when he arrives later today.  Sounds like a good plan.

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens may have had her heart broken by costar Zac Efron last year, but that doesn’t mean the 22-year-old is giving up on love!

According to reports, Hudgens stepped out with her new man, actor Austin Butler at a birthday party for Ashley Tisdale’s older sister, Jennifer, late last month and  although the two weren’t engaging in any major PDA, onlookers say the pair appeared to be enjoying each others company.

A source who attended the shindig shared that Butler and Hudgens,

…Were together but in a large group… They were not doing anything to show that they were really together romantically but they were definitely hanging out and having fun.

Butler, who is best known for playing Jamie Lynn Spears’ love interest on Zoey 101 and his current role on ABC Family’s Switched at Birth, is two years Hudgens’ junior – so it looks like someone nabbed himself an HSM Cougar!

Lady Gaga is an original – so original, in fact, that she doesn’t want anyone copying her trademark image.  Or images.  Or whatever they are.

So here’s the skinny:  Gaga has her panties in a twist because of a little cartoon character named, wait for it, Lady Goo Goo.  Cute right?  The little scamp is a creation of Moshi Monsters, a UK based website that dubbed itself “Facebook for kids”.  Apparently, Goo goo has become famous for putting out kid versions of some of Gaga’s greatest hits - ”Peppy-razzi” being one of her most popular.

So Gaga took Goo Goo to court for being a copycat, and the judge ruled that allowing Goo Goo to release any of her Lady Gaga spoofs may result in “consumer confusion”.

Consume confusion?  I barely know what the real Lady Gaga looks like as it is – I don’t think a little cartoon character is going to cause any more confusion in that department…

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe may be about to graduate from Hogwarts, but that doesn’t mean the 22-year-old is ready to hang up his wand forever.  Radcliffe’s latest film, “Woman in Black”, is the actor’s first outside the Harry Potter series, but lends itself well to his supernatural tendencies.

In the film, Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, a lawyer, who reluctantly travels to a remote town”to sell the home of a recently deceased client, but quickly becomes intrigued by the cursed town’s secrets and the titular ghost.”  Sounds pretty Harry Potter-esque to me!

Perhaps some Expelliarmus-ing may be in order…
