According to sources, since being named the winner of American Idol: Season 11, Phillip Phillips’ debut single “Home” has already been downloaded 278,000 times – the most for any idol contestant since 2003 when Nielsen SoundScan began tallying downloads.

“Home” debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts, making it the fourth highest debut of any single this year, losing out only to superstars Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5.

Not bad for your very first single Phil old boy!

Phillips, who was forced to delay kidney surgery earlier this week due to a sinus infection, is slated to hit the road with the rest of the American Idol finalists later this summer for the American Idols LIVE tour and we expect to see an album from the 21-year-old Georgian sometime this year.

Congrats Phillip – we can’t wait to see what’s in store for you!

Seems like these days, Justin Bieber is causing trouble wherever he goes!

While making an appearance in Oslo, Norway yesterday, the 18-year-old pop star caused such a riot promoting his latest album Believe, that police threatened to cancel the event!

According to sources, when The Biebs arrived at the Oslo Opera House to perform a free six-song set, the crowd went absolutely wild, rushing the venue and ultimately getting so out of control that a rumored 50 people were sent to a local hospital.  In a last-ditch effort to quiet the crowd, Justin personally took to his Twitter account to urge fans to think of their own safety.

For the show to happen u must all listen to the police. we are all concerned for your safety and i want what is best for u… Please listen to the police. I don’t want anyone getting hurt. I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first.

That Justin.  Always cool in a crisis.  Well, maybe not always, he did sort of just allegedly assault a paparazzo, but hey – that guy was way out of line.  We got your back Justin!

Earlier today, he boys of One Direction, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, sat down with Jenna Bush Hager of The Today Show for an exclusive interview about their breakout success, upcoming North American tour and, most importantly, their forthcoming album!

According to band member Liam Payne, 1D has enjoyed such overwhelming success because,

We are ourselves. People enjoy what we do because we don’t hide anything.

Well yes, that.  And the fact that you guys are freaking a-DOR-able!

When Jenna finally got down to brass tacks and asked the boys which of them was the band’s biggest romantic – the verdict was split.  Harry and Louis both insisted that Liam is the hopeless romantic of the group, while Zayn and Liam swore that Louis is actually the most likely to shower his girlfriend with roses and champagne.

Demi Lovato is this month’s Cosmo cover girl and in an exclusive interview with the ‘zine, The X Factor host reveals even more of herself than the racy yellow dress she dons on its cover.

The 19-year-old pop star, who is currently single, opens up about her plans for starting a family and what she considers to be a “deal breaker” when choosing a man.

I don’t have many deal breakers. I’ve done so much in my life, it doesn’t feel right to judge other people… Oh, I know one quality I won’t tolerate: I would never be with a guy who is controlling… I want to be married with kids in 10 years.

Demi also spoke out (again) about her time spent receiving treatment for bipolar disorder back in late 2010.

I felt relieved when I found out. Like I’m not completely crazy; there’s a medical reason for all of it… It’s a daily thing; you don’t get time off from it. And if I feel myself slipping back into old patterns, I have to ask others for help, which is hard for me to learn, because I really like doing everything on my own.

Demi?  A control freak?  We never would’ve guessed!  ;)

In addition to her new hosting duties on The X Factor, the former Disney star will kick off her summer tour June 12th.  Looks like it’s gonna be the summer of Demi!

Hip hop superstars Rihanna and Drake were spotted arm-in-arm together in Miami over the holiday weekend and we’d just like to say, thank GOODNESS she’s moved on from that awful gentleman, whose name cannot be mentioned.

The happy couple has even gone so far as to confirm their affections for one and other via Twitter, which as we all know, totally makes things official!

We’re glad these two have ‘found love in a hopeless place’, but we’ve got to wonder, when Rihanna writes their initials in a heart on her notebook does she just write “R+D”?  We need some last names here people!

After getting into a heated altercation with paparazzi on Sunday afternoon, sources are reporting that 18-year-old Justin Bieber could be facing an arrest by LAPD.

According to former New York prosecutor Raoul Felder,

Anytime the police say you need to come in for questioning they usually arrest you when you come in and then you get bailed out… They want to hear your side of the story. But very frequently, they arrest you right on the spot.

Unfortunately for police, The Biebs is currently in Oslo, Norway and therefore, kiiinda unavailable for questioning.  However, Felder says that this won’t necessary effect Justin’s chances at getting off with a just a slap on the wrist.

It’s not a murder case where everyone stops the clock… He’ll show up with his lawyer when he’s back and they might arrest him. But it’s a misdemeanor, it’s not a felony. He is working with his legal team, publicist, personal manager and writing a lot of checks out right now… He’ll most likely go before the judge and plead guilty because he doesn’t want a jury trial like a Lindsay Lohan situation… He’ll apologize and say he’s sorry and didn’t mean to hurt anyone. The judge will probably give him 30 days community service.

Are we the only ones who think this whole thing is utterly ridiculous?  JB was clearly being provoked by this photographer and should be applauded for not completely knocking his block off!

In a never-before-seen teaser for the film, Katy is shown hitting a water park during an off day on her recent California Dreams tour, while her sister Angela explains their “professional” relationship.

We always kind of had this deal that when she made it big, that I was going to work with her and we were going to be together…Anytime we go to a city when we have a day off, she always likes me to explore something fun with her… Katy likes to work hard while on tour, but she also likes to play hard.

Part of Me promises a behind-the-scenes look at the good (and the bad) of being on of the world’s biggest pop stars, and we’ve got to admit, we’re pretty stoked to see it!

Everyone has their breaking point, and yesterday, Justin Bieber found his.

While walking out of a movie theater at The Commons at Calabasas with girlfriend Selena Gomez, Justin was swarmed by paparazzi who refused to move out of the singer’s way.  One photog even went so far as to block The Biebs’ car in order to snap a picture!

According to sources, Justin kept his cool as long as he could, but ended up exchanging words with the photographer and getting into an “altercation”.  Shortly after Justin and Selena were finally able to flee the scene, the gentleman (and we use that term very loosely) called 911 complaining of chest pains.

We call BULL CRAP!

We totally get that getting your picture snapped by the paparazzi comes with the territory of being famous, but blocking someone’s car so they can’t get away?  That’s uncool.

The photographer was taken to the hospital and later released, but now LAPD want to take Justin in for questioning regarding the alleged assault.     This whole thing is ridiculous and maybe this will teach those over-zealous photographers to keep a respectful distance!

After being apart for several weeks, teen power couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez stepped out in Sherman Oaks, Calif. yesterday to celebrate Selena’s return from Bulgaria.

Their long anticipated reunion could not have been more adorable, as the two lovebirds chose to celebrate at their favorite restaurant – a local Benihana!

Amidst breakup rumors that have been circulating, the couple, who officially reunited with a heated lip lock at LAX earlier this week, appeared a bit strained during their lunch, but we’re sure all’s well with our two favorite pop stars!

At least, we hope it is!!  Welcome home Selena!

According to reports, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and Twilight’s Kristen Stewart are facing off in a very public battle over, what could be, the role of a lifetime!

Katniss Everdeen vs. Bella Swan –  C’mon, is there really a question over who is going to win a fight between these two?

Apparently, Kristen and Jennifer are both vying for the role of Peyton Loftis, a character in the upcoming film Lie Down in Darkness and according to a source,

It’s an independent movie, and they see it as a career-making role, like Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice… It is very unusual for two actresses to be so vocal in lobbying for a role, and even more unusual that they are the two hottest young actresses of the moment.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, Jennifer spoke out about just how much she wants to play Peyton,

I am obsessed with that part. I have this feeling of protectiveness over characters I want to play . . . If someone else gets the part, I’m afraid they won’t do it right. I’m trying to write the director . . . to convince him that I should be in his movie. I’ll chase him if I have to. I’ll sit outside his house.

We love her passion!

KStew also voiced her desire for the role in an interview with Elle,

I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life. I want to play her so bad. They’re the most [bleeped]-up family. There’s a script adaptation . . . and it’s good. Two people vying for the part [of the father] are Daniel Day-Lewisand Colin Firth. Daniel would be perfect.
