American Idol: Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday to correct the kidney disorder that plagued him throughout this year’s competition.  Oh yeah, and did we mention it’s his TWELFTH surgery this year!?

According to reports, the procedure will help remedy the pain caused by kidney stones that were too large to pass through Phillips’ system on their own.

Ouch!

We’re so glad that Phil will be getting the help he needs and that he will hopefully be able to hit the road with the AI tour this summer!

And if we weren’t already completely on board with Team Phillip, a recent interview the 21-year-old told reporters how over the moon he is for girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell.

She is really excited for me and she’s helped me out a lot through this. I’m hoping she’ll maybe be able to go on tour. It would be cool having her, she’s supported me so much. Love her, love her to death

If a girl [voted] for me because I’m cute, and then gets mad that I have a girlfriend, then she doesn’t really like the music… I’m not some cute guy who is trying to be successful off that. I really want the music to come first.

One Direction’s Liam Payne had a close encounter of the naked kind when, earlier this week, an over-zealous admirer saw the 18-year-old in the buff at a local gym!

According to reports, the boys of 1D were squeezing in a quick work out while on tour, when a hoard of female fans stormed their gym and insisted on getting a peek at the band.

Apparently, one of the more persistent (and by “persistent”, we mean “crazy”) girls was able to finagle her way past security and stick her head into the locker room where the boys were changing.

Liam was stunned when he saw her in the changing room — he couldn’t believe she’d got past security… For one thing, he was in the middle of getting dressed and had no idea what she was going to do, as their fans in the US are mad.

Ya think?

Sure, we all know Zac Efron is a hottie with a body, but up until now, the 24-year-old has played it relatively safe when it came to choosing roles that showed off his uber-masculinity.

Not anymore.

In his new film The Paperboy, which just debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, Zac plays “Jack”, a 20-year-old kid who, for one reason or a bother, spends much of his time nothing but white underwear – oh yeah, and he’s also Matthew McConaughey’s younger brother.  Can you say man-candy overload?

In a recent interview, Zac opened up about what it was like to stretch his acting chops (and finely-tuned physique) in his latest role.

As much as I love everything I’ve done, this is a new frontier for me,” he said at the press conference. “It’s incredibly fulfilling. It’s a dream. Hopefully, I can keep doing things like this… I don’t think I was supposed to feel comfortable… It’s like life. This character is supposed to be learning the ways of the world, and that can be very uncomfortable. But it’s also exciting.

We can’t wait to see Zac in his underwe- we mean, in this new light!

Ready for the best news of the summer so far?

One Direction’s Harry Styles has officially split with girlfriend, Inbetweeners’ Emily Atack!  Okay, okay – we know they’ve only been reportedly dating for like, two seconds, but we’re relieved that good old Harry is back on the market!

Harry’s bandmate Louis Tomlinson was the one who let the breakup news slip during a recent interview with UK’s Mirror - nice going Louis!  Apparently, when asked which one of the 1D members “scored” the most during their recent tour, Louis responded with what he thought was a PC response.

Do I even need to say who? I think it would be completely and utterly unfair to single out girls in that way, or put it like that. But … if you were to put it like that, I think it would possibly be … Harry. Do we keep a tally? No, we do not! That’s hideous.

Wait, so do you or don’t you “keep a tally”, because it kiiiinda sounds like ya do…

The youngest JoBro, Nick Jonas, has shaved off his trademark locks and we’ve got to say – we’re not sure we’re loving it!

Sure, it was definitely time to ditch the mop top, but we are way bigger fans of Nick’s look in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.  The tidy businessman ‘do served him well; maybe it’s time to consider a career on Wall Street!

Even though we’re not huge fans of Nick’s new lack-o-hair, the 19-year-old took to his Twitter account to announce his excitement over this life-changing event.

Phillip Phillips Phans all over the country rejoiced last night, when the 20-year-old singer was crowned the winner of American Idol:  Season 11, beating out fellow finalist Jessica Sanchez.

The Georgia native was noticeably absent from the Idol Finale festivities, which we can only assume was due to his increasingly worsening kidney issue that will force him to undergo surgery within the next few weeks.

It’s no secret that here at GossipTeen, we’ve been on the Phil-train since the beginning, so we were so excited to see our boy go home a winner.  Not to mention, how freaking adorable was it that he was so moved that he had to leave the stage and run into the arms of his mom and dad?

Love it!

Shenae Grimes plays a good-girl-gone-back on the hit CW drama 90210, but the Canadian-born actress says that she has “zero connection” to her character, Annie Wilson.

In an interview during The CW’s Up Front event on Thursday, the 22-year-old star complained that she couldn’t personally wrap her head around Annie’s struggles this season, which included becoming an escort and seducing a priest.

Playing Annie this season was really hard for me because I had zero connection to her storyline whatsoever… To me, it seemed really off-base that my character would even be behaving that way, because she does come from a pretty solid family and there was never any mention of her reaching out to her parents at all for money or anything… I mean, they had a house in Beverly Hills, her mom’s living in Paris — it’s not like they’re broke! So I couldn’t really wrap my head around the thought process behind what was going on, so that made it difficult.

We’re with ya on this one Shenae.  We were shocked by Annie’s transformation this season too and totally miss her down-home morals that made her stand out amidst her Beverly Hills surroundings.

Although we have to admit, the scandal is totally entertaining

Pop star Justin Bieber will stop by The Ellen DeGeneres Show later today to announce his “Believe Tour” and surprise fans with a very special gift – a pair tickets to his show in Los Angeles!

The Biebs also brought along matching “Boyfriend” and “Girlfriend” letterman jackets for he and Ellen DeGeneres to sport during his appearance on the show.

Um, color us jealous!  Those jackets rock!

But Justin wasn’t the only one with a few surprises up his sleeve; the 54-year-old talk show host shocked the recent GED recipient with an impromptu graduation ceremony to commemorate his finishing high school.

We never thought we’d see the day that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi would willingly leave the Jersey Shore house in Seaside, New Jersey…

According to sources, Snooki is taking her pregnancy seriously, and although she’s not quitting the hit MTV reality show altogether, she is moving out of the shore house and into an alternate location nearby – sans roommates.

So, what exactly are we to expect from a season of The Jersey Shore with only one of the meatballs in full force?  Our expectations are not high.

We’re far more excited for Snooki’s spinoff, where she attempts to tackle motherhood – in leopard print heels.  Now that’s reality TV!

Pop star Selena Gomez rocked the music world yesterday when she Tweeted about surviving a massive earthquake while filming in Bulgaria.  The Spring Breakers star was staying in the Bulgarian capital of Sophia when the 5.6 earthquake rocked the city.

The 19-year-old singer immediately took to her Twitter account to let her millions of fans know that she was okay and to rally support for the city.

Thank you for all of your concerns!! Earthquake was scary but thankfully everyone is ok. Praying for Italy.
