In a world consumed by “who’s wearing who?” and the latest color of Snooki’s poof, it’s refreshing to see a few A-listers who are more concerned with giving back then getting more.

While many celebrities have charities with which they are affiliated, according to the socially conscience website DoSomething.org, 20 such celebs stood out among the others as the Top 20 Most Charitable Stars of 2011.

Most of the names won’t surprise you, considering the amount of high-profile press these do-gooders catch for their charitable giving, but it’s always nice to give credit where credit is due.

There are some interesting trends from this year’s list.  It’s dominated by young celebrities and we also see so many couples.  Last year the list had its first power couple, Ashton and Demi, and this year there are a total of four couples.  Doing good is definitely fun in groups.

Maybe we can all take a play from these young celebs’ playbook and be better versions of ourselves in 2012.  So grab a friend, or two, or ten and get out there and DO SOMETHING!!!

And if you can “beliebe” it, things just got more dramatic!

Apparently, Mariah Yeater, the woman who’s been harassing Justin Bieber about being the father of her three-month-old son, has a more sullied past than we thought!

The 20-year-old’s mother Michelle Yeater, was arrested back in November 2007 for battery with serious bodily injury, when she attacked a convenience store clerk and sent her to the hospital.

Ouch!

Yeater Sr. served two years in prison for the offense, before being released on probation.  I don’t know about you, but I think this may damage Ms. Yeater’s credibility just a tad.

Although, now that I take a better look – that baby does look like he has Bieber-ific lips.

Pop star, Demi Lovato is seeing red these days.  But no, she’s not P.O’ed!

The 19-year-old Skyscraper songstress kicked off preparations for her upcoming Unbroken tour by dying her normally dark locks a fire engine red.

The singer Tweeted her new look to her fans over the weekend saying,

Changing my hair color today… Red hurr she don’t curr.

I hate to say this, but while I adore Demi – I absolutely hate the hair.  We love you the way you are, Demi – Bring Back the Brunette!

After only 72 days of marriage socialite Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband, NBA star Kris Humphries.

Weird.  72 is the exact number of days you have to stay married in order to not have to return the $17 million dollars you banked from your wedding.  What a krazy koincidence…

Ryan Seacrest, executive producer of the hit E! reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” confirmed the news about the split earlier this morning via his Twitter account.

Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins.

Kardashian cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the break up and the couple, who did sign a prenup before the wedding, will not be seeking an annulment.

Regarding the ending of her brief marriage, Kim issued the following statement:

After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.

It’s always sad to see a marriage end, but these two just gave up after only 2 1/2 months of being husband and wife.  All I can say is – I want my toaster over back.

Ever-the-romantic, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber has once again pulled out all the stops to impress actress girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The 17-year-old, who last month rented out the Staples Center for a surprise private screening of Titanic, pulled a similar stunt this week in Winnipeg, Manitoba when he rented an entire movie theater so he and his boo could watch Real Steal in peace.

Real Steel?  Not quite the same romantic caliber as Titanic, but to each his own, I suppose.

According to sources, the couple had a pizza delivered to them at the theater and were whisked away in a black SUV after the movie – which is a helluva lot cooler than having your mom pick you up in her minivan…

New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries may have just put a ring on Kim Kardashian over the summer, but the newlyweds are already fighting off break up rumors galore – including several magazine cover stories insisting the happy couple is headed for divorce.

So is it true or false?  Are Kim and Kris hitting the skids or have the paparazzi simply run out of celebs to torment this week?

If you guessed false… you’re right!

According to sources close to the couple, despite the fact that Humphries was seen “moving out” of the home he shares with Kardashian, the pair couldn’t be happier.   Apparently, photogs caught Kris with some cardboard boxes he and Kim were using to move out of the Gansevoort Hotel and jumped to some pretty serious conclusions.

Imagine that.  The paparazzi jumping to conclusions.  What is this world coming to?

Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan was handcuffed and led from an L.A. superior courtroom today after Judge Stephanie Saunter announced that the 25-year-old had violated her probation by being booted from her community service detail at the Downtown Women’s Center.

Oh my gosh, never have I ever been so surprised about anything in my whole life… (Please note the sarcasm here.)

Judge Saunter, who set Lohan’s bail at $100,000, apparently has had enough of Lohan getting preferential treatment from the courts and ordered that none of the actress’ time spent volunteering at the American Red Cross after leaving her DWC detail could count towards her mandated community service hours.  The clearly agitated judge went on to add,

No one has the power to change my sentence… Not the volunteer center and not probation. She is not getting credit for any time at the American Red Cross.

You go Judge!

A rep for Lohan told E! News that,

Lindsay is hoping this matter will be resolved on Nov. 2 and the Court will reinstate probation and allow her to continue fulfilling her community service.

Until that time, Lindsay’s probation has been revoked and the former Disney sweetheart could be looking at some pretty serious time in the slammer.

Talk about being out of your element!

Country artist Kellie Pickler is gearing up for her small screen debut (American Idol doesn’t count), guest starring on the October 18th episode of 90210.  According to reports, Pickler will play “Sally”, a country singer, and cousin to Austin (Justin Deely), who comes into town just in time to play her new single “Tough”, during a college talent show/fundraiser.

Man, she’s really gonna have to dig deep for this one.

Kellie joked with fans about preparing for her role via her official website.

Well my zip code growing up was a long way from 90210 so it will definitely be acting… I’m really excited and a little bit nervous about it but will be a fun and unique place to perform “Tough.”

Pickler’s single, “Tough” is currently #30 on the Country Music charts.

Okay, okay, he’s not actually Spiderman, but pretty close, right?

According to the latest edition of US Weekly, Twilight star Ashley Greene and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (you know, the weird Spiderman musical?) star Reeve Carney are officially an item.

A source close to the couple revealed that,

Ashley has always had a crush on Reeve and he finally was into it…

Finally into it?  Have you seen this girl?  You do not say “No” to Ashley Greene.  Am I right fellas?

Another source added that,

Ashley has been pining after Reeve for a long time. She’s super close with Reeve’s family and loves spending time with Paris, his sister, when they’re both in L.A.

Even though celebrity romances are like delicate little flowers, the new couple doesn’t seem at all interested in keeping their blossoming love connection under wraps.  On Tuesday Greene 24, and Carney 28, hit up PH-D at Dream Downtown (which I guess is a uber-happenin’ discotheque) where “Greene requested DJ Jesse Marco play LMFAO’s “Sexy And I Know It” so she could show off with her new man.

Billboard Magazine officially announced this week that country recording artist Taylor Swift will be receiving the “Woman of the Year” award at the 2011 Billboard Women in Music event on Dec. 2 in New York City.

Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

Swift, who’s sold more records than, well, anyone in the past year, is the youngest artist to ever receive this honor – and it makes sense:  At 21, she’s already won four Grammy Awards, gone quintuple platinum and been bum-rushed onstage by an angry hip-hop artist.  So yeah, she’s pretty advanced.

According to Bill Werde, Billboard’s Editorial Director,

Taylor has shown the power of good songwriting with music that has transcended genres, and we’re thrilled to recognize all of her successes over the past year by honoring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award… At the young age of 21, Taylor has already made a major impact on music and has been an incredible role model for aspiring singers/songwriters and young women everywhere.  I look forward to watching her career continue to flourish in the years to come.
