Former Disney sweetheart Demi Lovato recently teamed up with photographer Tyler Sheilds for a racy photo shoot in which she seductively licks a lollipop, smashes a mirror and does other grownupy looking stuff.

Okay, Demi, we get it – you’re NOT a little girl anymore.

In an interview with US Weekly, Sheilds opened up about his reasoning for the shoot,

We wanted to show that Demi is all grown up from her Disney days and is a really beautiful and powerful woman now…When I showed her the images she was really excited and could not wait for us to post them so that her fans could see a different side to her.

Ugh.  This “I’m not a little kid anymore” idea has been done to death.  Why do these starlets have to make the jump from Disney to pinup girl as soon as they get their driver’s licenses?  Here’s an idea:  Why not just start acting like an adult and then we’ll all treat you like one?

After signing off from social media nearly a week ago, former Disney star Demi Lovato  has finally decided to make her dramatic return to the Twitterverse.

Hooray!

And it  seems that, at least for now, Twitter is the only thing the 19-year-old will be returning to – that’s right everyone, the social media sign off was not due to the Skyscraper songstress landing herself back in rehab.  Demi told E! News that “all the treatment rumors are utterly false.”

Phew!

However, although Demi has us all pleased as punch that she’s rejoined the world of the Tweeting, we weren’t exactly overjoyed to hear that she won’t be returning to the screen anytime soon.  In an official statement made to UK Glamour, the pop star shared the following:

Right now I don’t need to get in front of a TV camera which adds 10 pounds and makes you feel more self-conscious about your body image… Being on camera makes me nervous. It takes a level of confidence and security which I’m still working on. I’m walking with my head held high, but I never forget that I’m a work in progress. When I’m ready, I’ll find the right role and get back into it, but for now, I’m being cautious.

Good for you Demi!  We’ll all be here waiting for you whenever you decide the time is right!

It looks like the oft-controversial, former Disney starlet Demi Lovato is finally trying out her “edit” button out for size – at least in the Twitterverse anyway.  In a surprising PR move, the 19-year-old said “sayonara” to her 5,637,588 followers today Tweeting,

Twitter break. It’s for the best actually. Who allows me to have this thing anyways?!!! I just get myself in trouble! Haha. Anyway… BYE!

Um, what!?  Is this for good?  Where are you going Demi?  That is NOT enough information – I know you only have 140 characters, but c’mon!  You can’t just abandon us like this!  DEMIIIIIIIIIIII!

Pop star Demi Lovato dazzled on the 2012 People’s Choice Awards’ red carpet in a jewel-encrusted, floor length, peach gown from Marchesa.  Her fashion sense has been right on point lately – and we love it.

The 19-year-old stunner had her hands full Wednesday night, performing her latest single “Give Your Heart a Break” and taking home the award for Favorite Pop Artist, which she dedicated to her fans saying,

I dedicate this to you… You guys are absolutely amazing. I love you guys so much.

Oh Demi – you are SO welcome!

Demi Lovato may be one of Hollywood’s “It” girls right now, but that doesn’t mean the 19-year-old doesn’t have a few complaints for the man upstairs.  The former Sonny with a Chance star took to her Twitter today to file an official grievance with Heaven’s customer service department.

Sometimes it seems like God just keeps throwing crap my way and I get SO angry with him… But there’s never a doubt in my mind He’s gonna pull me through it all. I know you’re there God. But umm… Really dude?

Dude?  Hey Demi, if you think things are tough now, just wait and see how bad they get if you keep calling God, “Dude”.  Demi continued her tirade about her terrible misfortune Tweeting,

He never fails to show me He’s by my side though. Even in the tough times. I’m not very religious but I’m VERY spiritual and I DO believe in God. I’m not perfect or preaching! Just tweeting…

Alright, I like where your head’s at Demi, but let’s keep the complaining to a minimum – you do make your living singing songs to millions of adoring fans – it can’t be all bad.

It seemed like “the inner circle” of former Disney stars Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato was one of the strongest gal pal groups in Hollywood, but in a recent interview with Seventeen Magazine, the “Skyscraper” singer reveals that there has always been a little trouble in paradise.

The 19-year-old actress spoke out about her often times volatile relationship with the former Hannah Montana star.

There are two people that no matter how many times we fight we will always be in each other’s lives… Selena [Gomez] and I, we never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all, but Miley Cyrus and I are strong headed. When we fight it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again! Then two days later, were like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’

This isn’t the first time these two BFFs have opened up about their tumultuous friendship.  Back in 2009, the two duked it out virtually via Twitter when Miley Tweeted:

Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that hollywood crap.** @ddlovato I miss you

And was met with the harsh response, “Yeah… it’s just kind of hard to miss somebody that I don’t know anymore.” from Lovato.

Ouch!

Despite their harsh history, it seems like Miley and Demi have put their behinds in the past and moved on to greener pastures in terms of their friendship.

Both [Miley and Selena] will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together…

Former Sonny with a Chance star Demi Lovato has certainly had enough drama in her life to pen a country song – so it came as no surprise when the 19-year-old singer Tweeted, “wrote my first country song today,” earlier this week.

We just hope it’s not about her dog dying and her truck breaking down – I mean, how much can one girl take?

The Texas native says she’s always been a fan of country music, and counts Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and BFF Taylor Swift among a few of her favorites acts.

So has the mega-pop star gone country for good?  We certainly hope not, but we’re excited to see what the “Skyscraper” songstress has come up with!

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you… or fed you (or I guess in this case, no one’s really doing much eating…)

Former Disney sweetheart Demi Lovato took to her Twitter yesterday to put the channel that made her a star on blast for making light of eating disorders.  The 19-year-old lashed out against the joke  ”I could just eat you up, well if I ate.” from the show “Shake it Up” Tweeting,

I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDERand yet still make joke about that very disease….. #nice.

The network was quick to respond via their PR Twitter account (isn’t it nice how everything is so personal these days?) and assured the irate actress that the joke would be pulled from the episode.

We hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them … It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!

Glad that’s settled!

Besties Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato may be traveling the world promoting their solo careers, but that does mean that they’re too busy to find a way to spend New Years Eve together – and make time to give back to a great cause!

Along with artists Jason Derulo, J Cole and Mac Miller, the Disney songstresses are scheduled to perform LIVE from MTV’s Times Square studio.  Tickets to the event are still available and all proceeds from sales will go to FWD to benefit victims of the crisis in East Africa.

Philanthropy is never a bad way to start the new year!

The show will air on MTV starting at 11pm EST on December 31st – make sure to tune in before you switch it over to watch Justin Bieber perform on Dick Clark’s  Rockin’ New Years Eve on ABC!
