Following the modest success of the first movie, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief, the sequel is finally moving forward with Logan Lerman set to reprise his role as the title hero.

The 19 year-old actor has had his option picked up by the studio (he is contracted for three Percy films with Fox 2000) and will have a new director for this film. Thor Freudenthal who helmed Diary of a Wimpy Kid takes over from Chris Columbus and new writers have been brought on board for the script for Percy Jackson & The Sea of Monsters, the second book in the series by Rick Riordan.

Lerman is currently finishing work on The Perks of Being A Wallflower with Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev in Pennsylvania and has The Three Musketeers coming out in October.

Lerman plays D’Artagnan and Wilde is Constance, D’Artagnan’s love, in the updated version of the Alexandre Dumas novel.

The official synopsis: The hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ story. They must stop the evil Richlieu (Christopher Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Milla Jovovich). The action adventure is given a state of the art update in 3-D.

It opens in theaters October 14, 2011.

Logan Lerman is grabbing another movie lead.

The 19 year-old has signed on to star in The Only Living Boy in New York, directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses.)

The movie is described as “a twisted coming-of-age tale in which a young man (Lerman) learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. The son tries to stop it, only to become involved with the woman as well.”

Lerman will start filming this shortly after he finishes The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which just added The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev to the cast with Emma Watson and Mae Whitman already on board.

The Percy Jackson star is also in the summer release The Three Musketeers and said this film adaptation is “badass.”

“It’s much more badass,” he said. “We definitely wanted to up the action, and give it a cooler spin. A well deserved cooler spin. This is nothing that anyone’s going to expect when thinking about the long line of D’Artagnans, and how much older they were than the character is.”

Nina Dobrev has landed a role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The Vampire Diaries actress is joining Logan Lerman and Emma Watson for the adaptation of the book by author Stephen Chbosky, according to Deadline.

Dobrev, 21, will play Candace, while Logan is Charlie and Watson has the role of Sam.

The book is consistently challenged in many libraries across the U.S. for it’s themes of drug use, sex, homosexuality, child abuse and suicide according to the American Library Association.

Nina has just wrapped season 2 of The Vampire Diaries and is expected to start filming this soon, on her summer break from TVD. She also stars in The Killing Game with Kellan Lutz, due out later this year.

This version, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson is sorta um, Matrix-ified.

Milla Jovovich is spinning in the air while fending off the bad guys and sliding across the floor while the pillars are crumbling and exploding… Lerman is running from a fiery explosion…

Well it does have Lerman and Orlando Bloom in it. Can’t be all bad…

The big screen adaptation of the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas is set to hit theaters October 14th.

Logan Lerman is the hot tempered D’Artagan in Paul W.S. Anderson’s upcoming The Three Musketeers 3D. Decked out in 17th century garment of a white tunic and riding pants, Lerman is taking on the classic character from the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

In the first official still from the upcoming flick, Logan is shown with Matthew Macfadyen as Athos, Lerman as D’Artagnan, Ray Stevenson as Porthos, and Luke Evans as Aramis.

Logan Lerman and Lily Collins are part of Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood Class of 2010. The teen stars have some amazing projects lined up for the 2010/2011 movie year:

Collins, who first got your attention in The Blind Side, has been filming Abduction with Taylor Lautner. She is also in the upcoming film, Priest with Cam Gigandet (my personal favorite ex-Twilight cast member.)

Lerman gets to go back to school with Emma Watson in the Perks of Being a Wallflower and is D’Artagnan in The Three Musketeers 3-D.

Logan Lerman gets his wig on in this new production still from the set of The Three Muskateers in Germany. The Percy Jackson actor plays D’Artagan and is costarring with Milla Jovovich and Orlando Bloom in Paul W.S. Anderson’s big screen remake of the tried and true box office staple.

The movie is due in theaters April 15, 2011.

Using monies raised to get better treatments for cancer patients, research to fight the disease and to spread the word about what you can do now to help prevent getting it (stop smoking, use sunscreen.)
