Amanda Michalka attended the 18th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on April 29, in Los Angeles to help raise money at the charity auction.

The 20 year-old star rubbed elbows with Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton, Lea Thompson and Melissa Joan Hart, among the celebs at the fundraiser.

The 78violet singer’s next project is the big summer flick Super 8 with Elle Fanning and Kyle Chandler.

While a lot of the plot of JJ Abrams movie is still secret, Michalka did talk to Nylon about working with him and Fanning.

“JJ [Abrams, the director] is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever worked with,” she said. ” He’s never done anything with a bunch of young kids before, so it was fun to work with him because everyone thought he was so funny.”

” And Elle Fanning is the sweetest, most adorable thing ever,” Amanda shared. ” Although maybe I can’t say she’s adorable, because she’s way taller than me.”

AJ’s last Hellcats episode with sister Aly Michalka, “Warped Sister” airs Tuesday, May 3rd. Super 8 is in theaters this June.

Starting off the new year OP has cast a new set of six hot young Hollywood stars for a new ad campaign.

The six new faces for the 2011 cast are The Vampire Diaries’ Katerina Graham, Glee’s Mark Salling and Chord Overstreet; Hellcats Aly Michalka, The Suite Life on Deck star Brenda Song and Keeping Up with the Kardashians brother Robert Kardashian.

The group finished the first photo shoot in Lancaster, California on Sunday afternoon so we should see the photos soon! Go to ET Online to see the video.

Graham and the Gang follow Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Jessica Szohr, Trevor Donovan, Cassie and Alex Meraz from the 2010 cast.

Sisters AJ & Aly Michalka glammed it up big time as they hit the 2011 People’s Choice Awards at the Nokia Theater Live in Los Angeles. The 78violet duo both wore short skirts with their up hair pulled up

Aly’s show Hellcats was up for an award, however it did not win. The sisters (AJ is guest starring on the hit CW cheerleader show) tweeted their fan love as the night went on. Aly said:

“I’m still laying bed thinking of how incredible you all are. The fact that we had fans tweeting all day means the world to me! Im so thankful that Hellcats was nominated:) unreal! Xo aly. Thank you again for your constant voting for #Hellcats over these last few months! What a great way to start up Hellcats again in 2011.”

AJ Michalka is headed to the world of competitive cheerleading and Hellcats in 2011. The sister of star Aly Michalka, AJ is getting a recurring role as an employee at a record store which is conveniently located near Lancer University.

The sisters have already collaborated on the show (the theme song is performed by them as 78violet) and it is likely they will perform musically together in a future episode.

The soundtrack for the CW cheerleader drama Hellcats comes out on Tuesday November 30th and features the theme song by 78Violet: sisters Aly and AJ Michalka. The duo recorded the shows opener “Belong Here” and it’s the lead track on CD featuring co star Sharon Leal, a solo from Aly and Brokedown Cadillac. Here is the CD listing:

“Hellcats” star Aly Michalka, the sister of AJ Michalka, posed for a very classy photo shoot featured on Venice Magazine (November 2010). The 21 year-old talks about the future of the 78violet duet and their new album, songwriting, being a teen in Hollywood and her co-star Ashley Tisdale.

Here are some highlights from Aly Michalka’s Venice Magazine interview:

On pursuing art after her teens: “As I got older, I just became more passionate about the art. Writing songs. Performing. Doing good quality work as an actor. I’m not interested in artistic pursuits for money or fame or accolades. I just want to make art that will hopefully make people feel inspired.”

On the new sound of 78violet: “Though the melodies are pop melodies, the songs are very heavily influenced by rock and definitely have a rock sound, not just a pop sound. And, yes, our music has changed a bit over the years as we’ve gotten a little older and started to have more freedom and more to say. My sister and I are both singer-songwriters. We do not want to be pop stars.”

On staying away from the club scene: “I’ve been fortunate enough to be blessed with a great family life and I do think that, in general, the choices you make do have something to do with the way you were raised and the friends that you have around you. We all surround ourselves with good friends that we really trust and we all have a focus that we don’t lose sight of. Personally, I really don’t like the club scene. All the loud noise and people yelling. I’d rather be in a more intimate setting, in my pajamas having a nice dinner.”

On her Hellcats scenes with Ashley Tisdale: “There is a level of comfort that we share with each other that definitely helps. And, coming from similar backgrounds in the industry, we both have the same work ethic and approach the work in the same way. I love that we have a friendship on the set and off. It’s nice to work with people you still want to hang out with after we wrap.”

Sisters AJ and Aly Michalka took time out of their super busy filming schedules to attended the premiere of RED at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles Monday night.

Hellcats star Aly was working her sexy, fitted purple dress and tousled hair while sister AJ had a more demure look and chose a sleevelss white top with navy puffy skirt for the Secretariat starlet. The 78Violet duo looked fantastic.

AJ Michalka is starring in the upcoming Disney movie Secretariat. The young actress is playing Kate Tweedy, a hippie, war protesting, flower child of the late 60s and early 70s and daughter of Diane Lane’s Penny Chenery – the woman who literally bet the farm on a horse to win the Triple Crown. Michalka spoke to TeenHollywood about what a great time with this character, the wardrobe, has high praise for Lane and what her and her sister Aly are doing about new music for 78violet.

On Kate’s independant spirit: “I don’t feel like the role is that different than me. I wouldn’t say I was a war protester or a massive hippy chick. I don’t know if I’d go to the degree that Kate went to but I’m definitely free-spirited, very independent and very strong-willed and that’s very much like Kate throughout the script.”

How cool was the wardrobe? “I loved the wardrobe. It’s so fun being a part of a period piece. The last film I did (The Lovely Bones) also took place in a similar era so it was pretty neat to tap into that again.”

On meeting the real Kate: “Yeah. There is a real Kate Tweedy and the fact that I was able to portray a real person, then actually hang out with her off set was amazing. We would go over to her friend’s house and watch old footage of Secretariat racing and have dinners. It was just a surreal experience. Kate is a wonderful woman so, the fact that I look up to the real Kate as a human being is really cool. I don’t think a lot of actors can say that about someone they’ve played necessarily.”

On working with Diane Lane: “She’s incredible. It was amazing working with her. She’s very motherly, very endearing and really professional. I learned so much from her as an actress just watching how she worked. Everyone who was the family in the film became a family off screen. I think that shows on camera. It shows how close we all became. But Diane is definitely a mentor and so beautiful. I was honored to play her daughter.”

What’s up with 78violet? “Yeah. We are definitely still heavily into the music side of things. Aly is obviously filming ‘Hellcats’ but we have not strayed from our music. We’ve been busy promoting films; Aly having Easy A out and me having Secretariat coming out, we’ve been focused on both but we’ve not stopped writing and we actually recently wrote and recorded the theme song for ‘Hellcats’. It’s called ‘The Longhair’ and the first time you’ll hear it is on the 6th episode so we’re really excited about that.”

AJ Michalka is joining Elle Fanning as part of J.J. Abrams new thriller Super 8. Steven Spielberg will exec produce and Noah Emmerich and Kyle Chandler are already on board. Most of the plot details are being kept under wraps but as you can see from the teaser trailer below, in 1979 something big and nasty escapes from the top secret government location Area 51.

Michalka will be in Disney’s upcoming Secretariat and Fanning’s latest, Somewhere, is due in December.

78Violet sisters Alyson “Aly” Michalka and Amanda Joy “AJ” Michalka were stalked by a scary man named Caesar Brantley, who tried to sneak into the gated community where the sisters live. AJ and Aly already had a restraining order against the guy and he was finally arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for disobeying a court order and felony stalking.

The girls reportedly were not home at the time and are currently OK. But this is not the first time Aly and AJ have to deal with a potentially dangerous stalker. A man was also arrested in 2008 for bombarding them with phone calls, letters, emails and online threats. Scary!
