AJ Michalka is joining Elle Fanning as part of J.J. Abrams new thriller Super 8. Steven Spielberg will exec produce and Noah Emmerich and Kyle Chandler are already on board. Most of the plot details are being kept under wraps but as you can see from the teaser trailer below, in 1979 something big and nasty escapes from the top secret government location Area 51.

Michalka will be in Disney’s upcoming Secretariat and Fanning’s latest, Somewhere, is due in December.

Emma Stone is going to be a host for Saturday Night Live, October 23rd. The Easy A actress has been rumored as one of the new season’s SNL invitees and Stone has finally confirmed.

Easy A opens in theaters today (September 17th) and is getting very good reviews. 78Violet sisters Alyson “Aly” Michalka and Amanda Joy “AJ” Michalka were stalked by a scary man named Caesar Brantley, who tried to sneak into the gated community where the sisters live. AJ and Aly already had a restraining order against the guy and he was finally arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for disobeying a court order and felony stalking.

The girls reportedly were not home at the time and are currently OK. But this is not the first time Aly and AJ have to deal with a potentially dangerous stalker. A man was also arrested in 2008 for bombarding them with phone calls, letters, emails and online threats. Scary!

Aly is the star of a brand new CW show, “The Hellcats” co-starring Ashley Tisdale. “The Hellcats” posters HERE and trailer HERE.

This is the first glimpse you get of AJ Michalka in her new Disney film Secretariat. While there isn’t much of the 78violet singer, Diane Lane comes across as all kinds of amazing.

Triple threats Ashley Tisdale and sisters AJ and Aly Michalka made their way through Malibu for a sweet taste of ice cream Sunday afternoon (April 25th). The 78violet duo and Ashley stopped at Planet Blue for a shopping fix as well.

78violet singer AJ Michalka has landed a role in the upcoming Disney film, Secretariat. The actress will costar with some serious Hollywood talent: Diane Lane and John Malkovich. AJ tweeted about her new project:

“I didn’t wanna announce this until I started filming, some of you already figured it out…I’m working on a film called Secretariat Xo AJ.

It’s a Walt Disney feature film with Diane Lane and John Malkovich. Diane & Dylan Walsh play my parents. Randall Wallace is directing! Xo AJ

So excited about this movie, it’s a beautiful true story. Having an amazing time filming in Kentucky! Finally the news has arrived ha!Xo AJ.”

Synopsis of the movie: The life story of Penny Chenry (played by Lane,) owner of the racehorse Secretariat, who won the Triple Crown in 1973. Scheduled for release in theaters in October 2010.

Sisters Alyson and Amanda Michalka (better known as Aly & AJ) went shopping Sunday afternoon in Hollywood California. Aly’s movie with Vanessa Hudgens and Gaelen Connell, Bandslam opened this weekend and did very poorly at the box office (even with the exclusive New Moon trailer in front of it.) AJ will be in the upcoming Peter Jackson film The Lovely Bones and the duo has renamed their band 78violet and are working on new material for a new album.
