There’s nothing like live TV!  Especially when the cast of the show can’t be bother to show up on time for filming!

During last night’s episode of American Idol, judge Nicki Minaj showed up a full 13 minutes after the show began!  Before her tardy arrival, host Ryan Seacrest made light of the situation by joking about the judge’s absence, but behind closed doors, sources say Seacrest as fuming!

Ryan was the angriest and Nigel [Lythgoe] was mad too. Nicki knew better.

And that wasn’t all.  Fellow A.I. judge and sworn enemy of all things Minaj-related, Mariah Carey was more than a little heated over her co-worker’s lateness.

Mariah was just annoyed, she’s really over [Nicki]. They were all just embarrassed that it happened.

This?  This is what they’re embarrassed over?  Not the absolutely ridiculous antics between Mariah and Nicki all season?  Yeah, this is waaaaay worse…

Looks like Katy Perry’s finally the one doing the rejecting!

After being approached by American Idol executives to fill one of the vacant judge’s seats on the shows upcoming 11th season, Wide Awake singer Katy Perry has reportedly turned down their $20 million offer!

Apparently, the show’s producers initially offered Perry the same $18 million that new judge Mariah Carey signed on for, but when the newly single songstress turned that down, they upped the ante to a cool $20 mil.

And that’s for a ONE YEAR commitment folks.  Must be nice!

According to sources, the money isn’t the issue – Katy’s upcoming schedule is simply far too demanding for her to join the Idol team.

It’s too bad really; we think KP would’ve made an awesome addition to the judge’s table!

FOX’s hit reality singing competition, American Idol is about to get a serious facelift – and no, we’re not just talking about J.Lo’s usual Botox injections…

According to reports, A.I. execs are considering pop stars Miley Cyrus, Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Fergie or Will.i.Am to join the judges table.  According to one Idol insider (C’mon, we all know it was you Seacrest!)

No one has signed any contracts yet and producers are currently putting out feelers and setting up meetings to see who they can get… We won’t know if Randy [Jackson] and Steven [Tyler] are returning until they see who else is on board.

Auditions with the producers for season 12 are already underway, so the higher-ups at FOX need to get their rear ends in gear if they’re going to find a third judge but the time the real auditions begin!

According to sources, since being named the winner of American Idol: Season 11, Phillip Phillips’ debut single “Home” has already been downloaded 278,000 times – the most for any idol contestant since 2003 when Nielsen SoundScan began tallying downloads.

“Home” debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts, making it the fourth highest debut of any single this year, losing out only to superstars Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5.

Not bad for your very first single Phil old boy!

Phillips, who was forced to delay kidney surgery earlier this week due to a sinus infection, is slated to hit the road with the rest of the American Idol finalists later this summer for the American Idols LIVE tour and we expect to see an album from the 21-year-old Georgian sometime this year.

Congrats Phillip – we can’t wait to see what’s in store for you!

American Idol finalist Phil Phillips may be one step closer to winning season 11 of the FOX hit show, but the 21-year-old may have to bow out of the competition early, due to the urgings of his doctors.

According to sources, Phillips’ doctors say that the Georgia native must go under the knife immediately after the AI finale – if not before – in order to address a serious kidney issue that is wracking the singer’s body.  Phillips had a temporary stent put in earlier this year in order to ease some of the symptoms he was experiencing.

While his illness is certainly taking a physical and emotional toll, Phil says that there is no way he will miss the show’s final week and will only agree to the surgery once the winner is announced.

The premiere date for FOX’s mega-successfull reality hit, American Idol was announced earlier today and it looks like we only have to wait a little over a month to get our fix!  Host Ryan Seacrest, and judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson will be back January 18th, 19th AND 22nd with a three-part A.I. premiere.

Jordin Sparks shows off her impressive weight loss in a twitter self-portrait she posted last week wearing mismatched bikini pieces.

The 21 year-old American Idol winner has lost a reported 30 pounds in the recent months by changing her way of living and was, maybe, perhaps, just a little inspired for some revenge.

Sparks phoned into On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Friday and the host asked her if the revenge bit was true.

Jordin told Seacrest ”you know what, it was just one of those things and it just started instead of just talking about being active, I made it a priority.”

Adding, “I was talking to somebody and then we just decided we would be friends and it was one of those things were I was turning 21 and New Years was coming and it was like I’m not going to start my resolution on New Years day, I’m going to try to start it early and just stick to it.”

Sparks is very smart and doesn’t completely deny she wants someone else to know what they’re missing.

“Well if I had revenge, I hope it worked!” she said.

Indeed!

OMG!! Actress Nikki Reed, best known for playing the role of Rosalie Hale in The Twilight Saga, is officially dating ousted American Idol contestant, Paul McDonald. No kidding!!

Nikki and Paul met when the Idol hopefuls were taken to the “Red Riding Hood” premiere (watch video here). The dating rumors started a couple of weeks ago. And Paul lost no time gushing about his incredibly supportive girlfriend as soon as he was eliminated from the competition last night.

“[Nikki's] supercool,” Paul said. “She’s been real supportive of this whole thing. She’s actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show.”

“It was weird. I haven’t ever actually watched any of her movies. I don’t know too much of her career at all, but the person she is super cool.”

“I told her I’m not watching any of [her movies] for a long time… She said, ‘I don’t want you watching’ and I was like ‘I don’t want to!’”

Paul, Paul, Paul. So Nikki supports your career and actually listens to your music and you won’t see her movies… bad boyfriend! I understand why, but if he is not even curious, that’s just wrong.

Paul also confessed he and Nikki are so busy that they don’t spent much time together. But they Skype!! Congratulations to Nikki and Paul! Do you think they make a hot couple, or what??

David Archuleta was invited to perform the “Star Spangled Banner” at the NASCAR Nationwide series Royal Purple 300 event on Saturday, March, 26th.

Archuleta, who was among celebrities Howie Mandel and Molly Ringwald at the racing day action, gave a lovely rendition of the National Anthem for fans.

The 20 year-old also posted a video blog for fans.

Jordin Sparks slipped into a little black dress and amazed the crowd with her fabulous figure.

The American Idol season 6 winner attended the Muhammad Ali Fight Night XVII charity event in Phoenix, Arizona over the weekend and chose a black mini with a deep v neckline and lace insert, highlighting her curves.

The 21 year-old, who used to model for plus-size line Torrid, is rumored to have lost 30 pounds and 6 dress sizes! Fantastic! Jordin always looked great and if she’s happier and healthier than before, even better.
