Disney opened a brand new store in Time Square in New York City today and American Idol alum Jordin Sparks belted out a couple of songs for the ceremony. Disney Times Square property is 20,000 square foot and is their largest retail store.

Sparks attended with NYC Mayor Bloomberg and sang her rendition of the classic Disney tune “Beauty and the Beast.”

David Archuleta has been very busy lately but he was finally able to take a moment out of his hectic schedule and make a new blog entry. The American Idol teen spoke about his time in Washington DC and Disneyland, watching FoodNetwork shows, his upcoming Christmas special with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and his time at an elementary school Halloween parade.

David Archuleta gives you a glimpse of what his life is like in this new video “A Day In The Life.”

The American Idol alum says that the show is like musical boot camp and he’s glad he didn’t stay with his summer job – he’s really happy he chose to follow his music dream. The singer also says he thinks about going to college to explore music more and that education is very important.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks officially threw her musical hat into the celebrity fragrance ring when she launched her scent “Because Of You.” Sparks’ perfume is aimed at her fans and has fruity, floral, girly ingredients like clementines, orange blossom, vanilla, amber, peony and orchid.

In this economy especially, my fans deserve a high-quality, reasonably priced scent,” Sparks revealed in a chat with Women’s Wear Daily this month. “I looked at some other celebrity fragrances and they were like $80. Even now, I look at a fragrance that’s $80, and I can’t bring myself to spend that much.”

Jordin’s eau de parfum is reasonably priced and exclusive at Dots until November 5th.

David Archuleta was in Queens, NY for the 2010 Arthur Ashe Kids Day festival Saturday August 28th. The annual event starts off the last of the major tennis events for the year: The US Open.

American Idol David Archuleta is finally putting the finishing touches on his new album titled “The Other Side Of Down”, which includes his latest single “Something ‘Bout Love” – check out the refreshing music video HERE.

The 19 year-old posted a new videoblog on his official YouTube channel (watch video below). David wrote, “I’m a space cadet today. Stoked about getting all these songs for the album finalized! We’re sooo close. Going to be doing some radio station visits this coming week. time to introduce some new David music . Jill Scott is awesome.”

David Archuleta, Keke Palmer, Taylor Spreitler, Josh Hutcherson and Emma Roberts were part of the festivities for the night.

Former American Idol runner-up David Archuleta is going to release new material soon. FINALLY. The 19 year-old has a new album coming up (“The Other Side Of Down”) in October and the first single is the upbeat “Something ‘Bout Love” (watch music video below).

“The video and the song are about people who are feeling a little down and a little alone … and just feeling a little frustrated with love or their situation in life,” he said of the video. “Even though you might feel down with love, there’s something about it you shouldn’t give up on.”

The most popular 16 year-old on the planet, Justin Bieber, took over the Idol stage to perform two of his biggest hits “U Smile” and “Baby” out of his album “My World 2.0” during the American Idol results show on Wednesday (May 19). Justin rocked it!

The super sweet 17 year-old Aaron Kelly, who has an interesting and beautiful life story, made it to the top 5 of the ninth season of American Idol. Aaron was adopted and raised by his aunt who he calls mother and defines himself as a country singer. He is a fan of Miley Cyrus and is ready to work on his debut album.

You had a chance to meet your idols, Rascal Flatts. How did you keep from being star struck?
Aaron: Yes, that was incredible! In the beginning I was star struck by everybody I met. And then you get to where you learn that they are just people and they like to be treated as people more than they like to be treated as stars, and so I felt the more I went through, that’s how it became. When I met Rascal Flatts, I was still pretty excited! But I tried to keep my cool and everything. I got to take a picture with them all and getting to talk to them, they are really nice guys.

What did you learn most from the celebrity mentors on the show?
Aaron: The mentors have taught you to put yourself into your song, don’t just sing the song; believe the song, because if you believe it, than the audience is going to believe it.
