The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family will have new company from a TV veteran. Raven Symone is joining the cable channel in the new pilot The Great State Of Georgia. The Cosby Show and That’s So Raven star is set to take on New York City as Georgia, a young woman headed to the Big Apple to make her performing dreams come true:

The project, from ABC Studios, centers on Georgia (Raven Symone), an exuberant curvy performer from the south who is trying to make it big as an actress in New York City. Also cast in the pilot is Brock Cuchna (Melrose Place) as Georgia’s Southern ex-boyfriend who, still madly in love with her, comes to New York to  bring her back home.

The show is still a ‘pilot’ which means lots of changes could be made before (and if) it finally airs. Let’s hope Raven gets back to series TV.

Disney opened a brand new store in Time Square in New York City today and American Idol alum Jordin Sparks belted out a couple of songs for the ceremony. Disney Times Square property is 20,000 square foot and is their largest retail store.

Sparks attended with NYC Mayor Bloomberg and sang her rendition of the classic Disney tune “Beauty and the Beast.”

Season eight American Idol contestant Allison Iraheta dropped in to Z100′s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in New York City Friday December 11th. The singer is promoting her debut album Just Like You. Hear her first single ‘Friday I’ll Be Over You’ here.

New York City was host to Taylor Momsen as she kicked off the opening ceremony for Clinique and Teen Vogue Magazine’s Fresh Faces Tour.

The cosmetics company & magazine are searching for young women who want to have their make-up done by a Clinique artist and have pics taken by a professional photographer. Sweet!

The tour is hitting major cities such as Austin TX, LaJolla CA, Cleveland OH, and Tallahassee FL among others. You can find all the stops on the tour or submit your picture online by going to Clinique’s Fresh Faces site here. Good luck!

New York City will get to host Prince Harry’s first formal engagment outside of Great Britian. He will visit The World Trade Center Ground Zero site and be part of the ceremony for the British Memorial Garden, remembering the victims of british descent who died on September 11, 2001.

He will take part in a polo match to help raise funds for his charity, Sentebale, which he started several years ago with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. The two princes will spend time at the Harlem’s Children Zone.  

The royal hasn’t been in the US since the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Trying to stay warm in chilly frigid New York City right now is a challenge. Gossip Girls Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr manage to look fabulous while fighting off the cold winds the big apple is experiencing. Outdoors for a scene from their show, the pair look cute and stylish of course!

Musical guest on Saturday Night Live is not enough for singer Taylor Swift. She has to be incredibly stylish and beautiful too! Shopping at Jeffrey in the Big Apple with Katie Couric for a segment on her news program, Swift wore the Kate Spade daffodil yellow coat in some seriously freezing weather and looks wonderful.
