Gossip Girl couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley decided to call it quits after dating for more than three years, but what exactly happened between the two to end what appeared to be a solid relationship.

According to Star Magazine, Blake comes from a traditional religious background and she is eager to marry and start a family. On the other hand, Penn wasn’t ready to make such a commitment and he allegedly decided to end their relationship… or at least take a break!

“Blake comes from a traditional Southern Baptist background, and she’s always had her eye on getting married and having lots of children,” a friend tells Star. “The pressure on him to settle down at such a young age finally reached the point where he realized he and Blake couldn’t get on the same page, timing-wise, about starting a family.”

Blake must have been heartbroken when Penn told her he needed more time and wanted to enjoy life while he is still young and irresponsibly free. The two continue to be good friends and their co-stars haven’t felt the pressure of working with the former couple.

OMG! NO! This is the end for Blake Lively and her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley! The two, who have been separated since September, have confirmed they decided to amicably split and will continue to be good friends.

Penn (Dan Humphrey) and Blake (Serena van der Woodsen) were once a couple on the show too. Dan and Serena made a wonderful couple, but complicated circumstances led to their break up.

Penn and Blake were the perfect real life couple! They dated for more than three years and always worked hard on protecting their relationship and keeping it private. It’s a sad day today!

Blake Lively took on Spike TV’s  “Scream 2010 Awards” on Saturday night, October 16th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Lively presented the award for Most Anticipated Movie to her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds.

The actress wore head to toe Lanvin, (bodysuit, skirt and leather accessories) from their Spring/Summer 2011 line. Blake is one super hot woman, so it doesn’t really matter what she is wearing because she always looks fantastic, but that dress… and the leather harness and enormous insect brooch was a bit too much. Good job! The 23 year-old was in character as Serena van der Woodsen shooting scenes for the new season of “Gossip Girl”. There is some bad news for GG fans: Serena and Dan Humphrey (played by Penn) won’t be getting back together anytime soon.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, who is currently promoting her new movie “The Town”, graces the cover of the upcoming issue of Allure Magazine (October 2010). The 23 year-old has landed more covers than any other actress of her generation over the past year.

Blake confessed she can’t wait to start a family and she wants “lots of babies”. “I want babies. Lots of babies. Of course!” she said. What does her boyfriend Penn Badgley feel about this? Blake simply refused to answer questions about her personal life, claiming “anonymity” is something she treasures.

“I don’t comment on my relationships, so you can skip that one!,” Blake says. “My anonymity is something I treasure. Wanting to be an actor and wanting to be famous are different.”

Who is Blake trying to fool? When you become a TV or movie star, you give up your right to be “anonymous”. Anyhow, Blake is a real family-oriented girl and one of her dreams is to have her own bakery and restaurant.

“I want to have a brunch place, a bakery, and a Southern restaurant because my family’s from Georgia,” Lively says, “and then I want a place that is all-over-the-world cuisine.”

WOW! That is a whole new different side of the sexy Serena van der Woodsen we haven’t been introduced to. Blake is not just another cute, sexy and blonde actress. She is a little box full of surprises.

Actress Blake Lively looks naturally beautiful on the cover of the upcoming issue of UK’s Marie Claire Magazine (October 2010). The 23 year-old is ready to take more career risks to become a serious big screen actress.

Blake already owns the small screen with her role as Serena van der Woodsen in The CW’s hit show “Gossip Girl”, and she is set to make an impression as Krista, a drug-addicted single mother, in Ben Affleck’s movie “The Town” (watch trailer here).

“I’m on a very commercial show, so the last thing I want to do is a commercial movie,” Blake tells Marie Claire. “I wanna take risks, I don’t wanna play it safe. I mean, I could probably make more money if I did more commercial projects. It would be nice to buy an apartment but I’m 22 and I don’t need to yet.”

The actress preferred not to openly talk about her relationship with Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley. They have been dating for a long time (since 2007) and like to keep their relationship private.

“At the end of the day, you’re just in any relationship,” she says. “How does anybody go to work every day and come home? You just do it and it either works or it doesn’t.”

We might have seen pictures of Blake and Penn kissing, but they never really talk about it in interviews. She claims not sharing too much is the secret for a healthy relationship.

Gossip Girl stars Leighton Meester and Blake Lively cannot stand each other! They don’t look at each other on set and don’t even acknowledge each other even when they have to shoot a scene together. OUCH!

Leighton is reportedly very jealous of Blake and the recognition she gets. Blake is on the cover of several important magazines, getting new projects and new challenging roles, while Leighton feels she does not have the same opportunities.

A set insider told the Enquirer, “Leighton thinks Blake is an egomaniac who views her time on the TV set as slumming. And Blake feels stifled. She’s just ignoring her co-star because she knows bigger things are in store…”

It sure doesn’t help that Leighton’s music career is basically stagnated too. Blake’s rep issue a statement about the tension between her and co-star, saying, “Blake and Leighton have never been best friends and never professed to be. Blake goes to work, does her job, and goes home.”

The 23 year-old actress confessed she is really shy and has to make a great effort to overcome her insecurities and become a sexy vixen in front of the camera.

“I think half of it is just acting confident. We stand on these red carpets and pose in these dresses, but we’re all only so confident. It doesn’t mean we think we’re great looking or anything. It’s all a façade,” she admitted.

Blake never considered becoming an actress until her brother, Eric convinced her to go to an audition. She said, “He [Blake’s brother, Eric] talked me into going to this audition. I just did the first one to be nice because he was always so great to me, but then I ended up going to a few more auditions… after a few auditions I got ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,’ which was my first job.”

Blake has a couple of movies coming up – “The Town”, an action crime thriller starring and directed by Ben Affleck, and “Green Lantern” starring Ryan Reynolds.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively did not opt for the classic gown but chose a sexy short blue dress to walk the red carpet of the Costume Institute Gala Benefit to celebrate the opening of the “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity exhibition held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art In New York City on Monday (May 3).

I’m not really sure if that dress was Blake’s best option, but she always looks stunning in very short dresses because she’s got the beautiful long legs to pull it off. Gorgeous!!
