Nickelodeon super-group Big Time Rush will make their big screen debut tomorrow night, in a Beatles-esque, made-for-tv movie Big Time Movie.

Okay, so we guess that’s not technically a “big screen debut”, but it is their first full-length feature, so we fudged the facts just a little.  Hey, all’s fair in boy band gossip, right?

At the film’s premiere last night in N.Y.C, the boys opened up about tackling some of the most beloved songs in, well, the history of songs, for their movie.  According to band member Tim Schmidt,

It’s Big Time Rush singing the Beatles… I think one thing that got confused is we were never trying to make songs that were better than the originals. You can’t make better than the originals.

Logan Henderson went on to add that,

Just because it’s not possible. We’re paying tribute to one of our favorite bands… Any real artist I think if the Beatles weren’t a part of their life then I think they’re a little confused… They helped pave the way for music and we love them.

We’re glad you guys stuck with your guns on this one and didn’t try to one-up the greatest pop group of all time (in our humble opinions).

The guys of Big Time Rush hit the orange carpet for Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids Choice Awards held at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 2nd.

Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt, Carlos Pena and James Maslow were performing with Snoop Dogg their hit song “Boyfriend” for the show.

The guys told reporters at the event that they are so close and together so much, they’ve become family.

“We see each other seven days a week. We’ve kind of become like brothers. We bicker all the time but we get over it pretty quickly,” explained Maslow.

The Big Time Rush guys have a video for the song “Stuck” that got, well, stuck.

Director Marcus Wagner said:

“This is one of a series of three music videos I directed for BTR, all of them in one day. This particular one never aired, but I liked it and the song better than any of them.”

Carlos Pena, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson and James Maslow are great in this video.

The members of the Big Time Rush band, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson, offered their fans a fantastic show, which also included a meet and greet, at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

BTR performed hits like “Famous”, “Till I Forget About You”, “City Is Ours”, “Big Time Rush” and a surprising encore of “Big Night” for more than 9 thousand screaming fans on the four floors of the mall.

After performing, BTR had the opportunity to sign autographs to 700 lucky fans. The Nickelodeon band talked to J-14 exclusively (watch video below). They confessed “City Is Ours” is the song that is getting the best reaction from the fans.

“We’re sitting there for a while and we get to meet thousands of fans that we knew were out there but didn’t know personally,” James Maslow says. “It’s cool to get that personal aspect to it because we really do love them all.”

Kendall Schmidt agrees, telling us, “My favorite thing about the tour is people watching. I saw some really awesome eyes — one girl had like neon green eyes! It was crazy!”
