Country music superstar and former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood may have a reputation in the music industry for being a bit closed off, but that doesn’t mean the Oklahoma native is devoid of basic social skills!

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the 30-year-old singer revealed that her quiet persona stems from her upbringing.

I’m not a mushy person at all. We were never a huggy family. Or a ‘let’s talk it out’ family. Technically I have siblings, but they are quite a bit older than me. I was the accident, so I have the only-child syndrome going on. I’m a little more selfish, a little more independent, a little closed. I do wish I were softer. I wish I were able to form relationships better. But hey, I mean, I’m not a sociopath.

The 30-year-old even shared that winning American Idol was somewhat traumatic for her.

At the beginning of my career, I used to have panic attacks. People were touching me, screaming ­– it made me really nervous. In public, I just get nervous. It’s a physical reaction, feeling like the walls are closing in. The fans are great. It’s not their fault. I don’t ever want to come across as ungrateful. But on my end, it is hard for me to process. Because I am still just me.

Up until this point in the interview, Carrie managed to come off as somewhat normal, but then she dropped this bombshell.  When asked if she always knew what she wanted to do when she grew up, the “Blown Away” singer responded:

[In my high school yearbook] You were supposed to say what you would be doing in 10 years, and I said, ‘I will be rich, famous, and married to a hot guy. I guess I should have added a few more things!

Sheesh! We don’t think this girl could get her nose higher in the air if she tried!

AnnaSophia Robb’s upcoming film Soul Surfer has a new trailer out.

The film is based on the inspiring true story of Bethany Hamilton, the teen surfing champ who lost her arm in a shark attack but persevered with her dream of competing.

Soul Surfer costars Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt and Carrie Underwood and is in theaters April 8th.

AnnaSophia Robb is giving fans a sneak peek at her long awaited inspirational movie Soul Surfer.

Robb takes on the part of Bethany Hamilton, the real life professional surfer who tackles the surf again after surviving a vicious shark attack that left more than just emotional scars.

Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt play Hamilton’s parents in the film and Carrie Underwood, Lorraine Nicholson, Kevin Sorbo and Jeremy Sumpter costar.

AnnaSophia Robb’s upcoming film Soul Surfer, has just had a new photo released of her and her onscreen parents, Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt. The actress is portraying teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm from a vicious shark attack but still forges ahead competing and winning in the sport she loves, surfing.

This film seems like it was shot a long time ago (although it was only this past winter.) Shot on location in Hawaii (see more photos here) the movie is getting released in time for spring break: April 15, 2011.

Robb is wearing a green sleeve for her scenes when filmmakers will digitally remove her left arm in the final cut of the movie.
