Shay Mitchell was in Washington DC to help kick off the Anti-Bullying Alliance ‘Be A Star’ launched by The Creative Coalition, A-List celebs and WWE at The Washington Club on Friday night.

The Pretty Little Liars star knows first hand how tough being bullied can be. She shared with Teen Vogue her experience with some mean girls at school.

“Girls who used to be my friends bullied me. Instead of eating lunch in the cafeteria, I’d find the quietest place at school and eat by myself,” she remembers.

“I realized that bullying never has to do with you. It’s the bully who’s insecure,” she says. “So I went back to the cafeteria and sat myself down, and when the girls walked by, I just smiled like they didn’t bother me!”

Lucy Hale and Shay Mitchell represented Pretty Little Liars for the 2011 Disney ABC Television Group’s TCA Winter Press Tour in Pasedena, California on Monday January 10th.

At the press conference for the show, it was announced that PLL has been renewed for a second season on ABC Family. Mitchell also spoke to the press about how honored she is to represent gay teens in a positive light, now that her character Emily has come out to her parents in the premiere episode. Mitchell said:

“If I can represent the gay community in a small way then I’m so honored and I couldn’t be more proud to do that.” She also says she has received an incredible response from fans, boys and girls, all over the world thanks to Twitter saying Emily coming out to her parents in the premiere has inspired them.

Abigail Breslin gets to work with Johnny Depp in the upcoming animated movie Rango. (Ok, so most voice work is done in a studio apart from the other actors so she won’t get to actually be in the same room with him – but still!)

Breslin is one of the townspeople that Depp’s chameleon (Rango) ends up trying to protect. The movie opens March 18, 2011.

Ashley Tisdale is headed for the bright lights of Broadway in the Disney Channel Original Movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. The High School Musical star is reprising her character, Sharpay Evans, for a spin-off movie costarring Austin Butler.

Sharpay finally gets what she thinks is her big break, when a talent scout catches her performing with her dog, Boi. Sharpay packs up Boi and heads for the big city in search of her dreams but nothing goes as planned.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (or as I like to call it HP 7.1) has still more new posters out featuring the dark ominous overtone that is becoming familiar for the ending films. “Trust No One” is the tagline for the heroes shots while the villians get “The Hunt Begins” as their motto.

Vanessa Hudgens wanted to craft a character that is eccentric on the outside and beautiful on the inside for her role as Lindy in Beastly. Judging by the picture (click the link below) the director had other ideas as her character looks pretty cute to me. But Hudgens insists:

“I made a point to not look put-together,” she said. “On the first day of shooting, I would not stop fidgeting with my hair. I was trying to make it look messier and messier and messier and messier!”

This dark modern version of the classic fairytale Beauty & The Beast also stars Alex Pettyfer as the conceited young man cursed to find his true love while his outward appearance is marred by scars and veins. Filming a scene for Gossip Girl in New York City, actress Taylor Momsen is dressed less like her character, Jenny and more like the way she dresses for her band The Pretty Reckless. The fishnets and the biker jacket are very punk inspired and seem right at home on Momsen when she’s on stage. Although the red leather bag is totally Jenny. What do you think?

Miranda Cosgrove is lending her singing talents to the upcoming animated movie Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. The star of Nickelodeon’s super popular iCarly, will perform the closing song “Raining Sunshine” for the film due in theaters September 18th.

Commenting on the announcement, Lia Vollack, president, Worldwide Music, Sony Pictures Entertainment, said, “We couldn’t be more excited by the song Miranda has recorded for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. She’s an amazing artist who brings her smart, fresh style to our film with the song, ‘Raining Sunshine,’ in our end-title sequence.”

Cosgrove will also be the voice of Margo in the animated film Despicable Me out in 2010.

Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas were interviewed on KTLA about the upcoming animated film ‘Ponyo’ from Disney and Ghibli studios. The younger Cyrus and the Bonus Jonas voiced characters (the goldfish/princess and the little boy who finds her) for the English-speaking version of the Japanese hit by Hayao Miyazaki. Miyazaki is the genius who made ‘Princess Mononoke‘, ‘Spirited Away’ and ‘Howl’s Moving Castle‘, among so many others. ‘Ponyo’ hits theaters this Friday, August 14th.
