Glee Episode 5: The Rhodes Not Taken
Written by Violet on October 1, 2009 – 12:08 am -Glee Episode 5: ‘The Rhodes Not Taken’ - another gem of an episode tonight. Kristen Chenowith guest starred as April Rhodes, a boozy former glee club star that Will had a crush on when they were in high school and was recruited to help fill the void left when Rachel departed for Cabaret.
Quick Plot Synopsis: Puck spills the beans on Quinn’s pregnancy, Finn courts Rachel to come back to Glee, Coach Sue gives Rachel complete control over the play, and April gets Kurt drunk and gives him muscle mags are just some of the night highlights. But Chenowith stole the show with her leading the club on Carrie Underwood’s song ‘Last Name.’
Now to the PTB (Powers That Be) - Please give Kristen Chenowith a recurring role.

‘Glee’ Episode 3: Acafellas
Written by Violet on September 17, 2009 – 12:00 am -Glee was back this week with “Acafellas” a good episode but a bit weaker than last week’s stellar season premiere.
Rachel (Lea Michele) provokes Will (Matthew Morrison) to take a backseat in the club’s musical direction and Quinn (Dianna Agron) and her fellow Cheerios get Rachel to hire Dakota Stanley, a famously tough choreographer who they hope will crush the Glee’s enthusiasm with his legendary meanness. (Stanley remarks to the wheelchair bound Artie (Kevin McHale) “you’re not trying hard enough to walk!”)
Will gets the idea to form a group with his fellow teachers and they name themselves the Acafellas. After two drop out, Finn (Cory Montieth) joins, along with his football rival Puck (Mark Salling) who has given up teenaged girls and is interested in cougars; and the Acafellas perform for the PTA meeting. Josh Grobin makes a guest appearance at the end
“I Wanna Sex You Up,” “Bust Your Windows,” “This Is How We Do It” and “Mercy” were performed this week but Coach Sue Sylvester played by Jane Lynch steals the show. Lynch’s deadpan delivery and atrociously manipulative behavior is simply sinfully delightful to watch.
I left out the sub plots in this recap because well, they made the show falter in it’s pace. The Mercedes/Kurt romance was silly and the Sandy/Josh Grobin appearance was distracting, although Grobin was funny when he told Will’s mother he “loves a blousy alcoholic.”
Episode 3 was enjoyable and had lots of laughs, not the same level as last week’s “Showmance” but still a solid hour of television. Bring on Episode 4: Preggers!

Hayden Panettiere Bounced From Club
Written by Violet on January 14, 2009 – 11:04 am -
Actress Hayden Panettiere, 19, was checking out the Jon Turco Band at a club and was kicked out when the bouncers noticed she looked a bit young to be at the 21 and over venue. She was escorted outside and they confiscated her license (per NY State rules) but was so furious they wouldn’t return her id. She called the cops (risky, considering she was underage,) and when they arrived, they worked with the staff to get her info back. She was not seen drinking, just enjoying the music.

Princes William and Harry Joining Posh Club
Written by Violet on December 8, 2008 – 10:10 pm -
My fave British randy royals, Prince William and Prince Harry have joined an exclusive, upper crust, posh gentlemen’s club in London. The two party princes have been keeping a low profile as far as dinking is concerned and now will be able to indulge in yet more privacy.
Are the watering holes they have been photographed coming in and out of now a thing of the past for these two emerging Royal Family members? They have both cut down on the visible partying this past year and have focused more on their military careers and on charity/royal duties. Expect to see more grown up, responsible ventures from the future king and his brother as they come into their own right and begin to take on more public duties for the british monarchy.
