Leighton Meester made a stunning entrance to the Art of Elysium’s 4th Annual Black Tie “Heaven” Charity Gala 2011. Held at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on Saturday January 15th, the Gossip Girl star was a fashion standout for the night.

Meester chose a Louis Vuitton dress with dark, multi-colored fringe that was unique and beautiful on her. She kept her hair and make-up simple and soft for the overall look.

Leighton Meester and Seventeen magazine are giving a patterned Versace dress cover space for the February 2011 issue. The Gossip Girl star gives Seventeen the scoop about love, friendship and partying:

Partying Ain’t Her Thing:
“I’m not really a partier, in general. I’ve definitely learned that that’s probably the least interesting thing you can do with your time.”

Love Happens:
“I want a family someday and I know that I have to let love in to create that and I think there is someone out there for me, but I’m not on some crazy hunt for that right now.”

Take It Slow:
“The way I become friends with somebody is a slow process. You can’t just spill your guts and tell them everything about yourself and expect them to listen and understand you because you don’t know them. It’s the same thing with a relationship.”

Leighton’s issue is on sale January 4, 2011.

Leighton Meester was in Los Angeles for the screening of her latest movie, Country Strong. The actress hit the red carpet in a floraly flirty summery frilly Christian Dior dress with orange platforms. She really looked cute but it seemed a little out of place considering it’s winter.

Minka Kelly, her costar in the upcoming film The Roommate, was on hand to support Leighton and the actress was a dead ringer for Meester at a glance.

Taylor Swift gave a heartfelt performance of her apology song “Back to December” last night, November 10th, at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards. Held in Nashville, Tennessee the CMA audience saw Taylor at a grand piano accompanied only by a string section – no big guitars or huge chorus being belted out – this rendition was stripped down and restrained but still lovely. The tune is rumored to be a mea culpa to Swift’s former boyfriend, Taylor Lautner, neither of whom have confirmed or denied the story.

The stage had fog, a wrought iron fence and old-fashioned Victorian lamp posts as Swift was set in the middle on her piano. For the finale of the song, Swift had snow softly falling from the stage sky. The somber effect was ruined a bit at the end as you see the cameras sweep around the auditorium and back to Swift, who is mouthing “What?” at the curtains come down. Her rep tells EW that the singer was surprised by the standing ovation. Hmm, that doesn’t quiet seem to fit the face she made.

Leighton Meester is costarring with Garrett Hedlund, Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow in the December 22nd release Country Strong. The newly released poster focuses on the four stars of the relationship drama film with country music theme. Here is the official synopsis:

Soon after a rising young singer-songwriter (Hedlund) gets involved with a fallen, emotionally unstable country star (Paltrow), the pair embarks on a career resurrection tour helmed by her husband/manager (McGraw) and featuring a beauty-queen-turned-singer (Meester). Between concerts, romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.

Leighton will be in a number of films at the beginning of 2011. First up on February 4th is The Roommate with Cam Gigandet, Aly Michalka and Katerina Graham. The following weekend is Monte Carlo with Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Cory Monteith. She then hits the big screen with Hugh Laurie in The Oranges.

In Meester’s immediate future is the return of Taylor Momsen to Gossip Girl on the Monday October 25th episode “Easy J.” Momsen’s Jenny returns for a chance to meet Project Runway’s Tim Gunn (guest starring as himself) and Blair is not happy to see Little J back in Manhattan.

She’s one of the most fashionable young actresses so it makes sense for Leighton Meester to consider designing her own line of clothing and accessories.

“The more I think about it the more it sounds like something I would want to do,” she tells us. “I don’t know if it’d be any time soon but I’d really like to work on a collaboration with somebody – I always have ideas for stuff like that. The problem is I always have so much admiration for so many designers and for so many different styles, it’d difficult to hone in on just one look but why not?”

Counting Audrey Hepburn, Helen Mirren and Cate Blanchett as women whose style sense she admires, Meester looks at each for inspiration.

The Gossip Girl actress has a number of films coming out next year: Country Strong with Gwyneth Paltrow, The Oranges with Hugh Laurie, The Roommate with Minka Kelly and Monte Carlo with Selena Gomez so she will have to squeeze in a fashion collaboration but she would have a great point of view to work from.
