Daniel Radcliffe Is Dressed For ‘Business’ Success

Written by Violet on March 27, 2011 – 9:38 pm -

Opening night on Broadway is getting to be old hat for actor Daniel Radcliffe, however this time, he added the challenge of song and dance to his live performance.

The Harry Potter actor took to the stage for the revival of  How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Sunday, March 27th.

Playing J. Pierrepont Finch from the 1961 musical comedy, Radcliffe is charming critics and the audience with his turn as the always-in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time kinda guy.

The 21 year-old has taken on theater before. He was very well received both in London and in New York City for his role in the psychological drama Equus.

‘Harry Potter’ Stars Take On American Accents!

Written by Violet on November 17, 2010 – 4:11 pm -

MTV’s After Hours series is always good for a laugh and this video is no exception. Josh Horowitz takes the Harry Potter actors on a journey of American phrases that are ridiculously common and yet so funny to hear from British actors out of any context at all. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton are great sports and all do their level-headed best to say “Olive Garden,” “Charlie Sheen,”  “boo-yah” and a few others, but then sneaky Mr. Horowitz throws in “Twilight Blows.”

Can I just say how much I love Josh Horowitz for this? There – I just did – in my best freedom language accent!

Daniel Radcliffe At The ‘Harry Potter’ Premiere In NYC

Written by Violet on November 16, 2010 – 12:23 pm -

Daniel Radcliffe walked the black carpet at Alice Tully Hall on Monday November 16th for the New York City premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. The actor had a chance to talk about how he felt working on the film franchise under so many varied directors:

“Yeah, I think it was great to be honest with you, because I remember when Chris told me he was leaving on #2, I was very upset and I thought, “Oh no, that’s a terrible thing.” But actually, it proved the best thing for the series because it opened it up to different creative ideas and different people came on board. I think the fact that Alfonso (Cuaron) came along to the film was not just for him, but really, really smart from our producers, particularly David Heyman, who was very instrumental in that. (Alfonso) had just directed “Y Tu Mama Tambien” and for such a mainstream movie franchise, it gives you a bit of weight with the critics, to have somebody who’s had such an indie (hit) suddenly working on the film. (laughs) So I think that made people see us in a slightly different light, and I think the fact that David Yates got the job on #5 was fantastic because it shows that we’re not afraid of taking risks, because a lot of people saw it as a risk.”

Daniel is getting ready for his Broadway show How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying) to open in February 2011.

Tom Felton Takes The ‘Harry Potter’ Black Carpet In Stride

Written by Violet on November 16, 2010 – 9:13 am -

Tom Felton came out to the New York City premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 at Alice Tully Hall on Monday (November 15th) night. The actor spoke about his character, Draco Malfoy and his softening in the final films:

What has Draco learned since Half Blood Prince?

He’s learned that he’s not cut out to be the villain that he once thought he was. He’s certainly realized that his father isn’t quite the greatest influence or role model that he once took him for. And I think he realizes that he’s in a really horrible place now, he’s terrified to be where he is. And I think he sympathizes with Harry a little bit and he wishes he could have helped him out earlier on.

What’s it like playing remorseful Draco instead of mean Draco?

It’s cool. It actually really nice, it’s always nice to play something differently or find something new. It’s always nice when a character has a journey or an arc like this. And in these last two films you really see him step out of his father’s shadow and start to think for himself.

Tom will hit the July premiere for the final Hogwarts movie and Felton’s next film, Apparition with Ashley Greene is due September 2011.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 premiered in New York City on Monday November 15th at Alice Tully Hall and Lourdes Leon hit the black carpet for the event.

The 14 year-old daughter of Madonna was casual cool in a blue dress with a skull print scarf and union jack clutch. The teenager is currently in the drama program at LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and works with her famous mom on the line of juniors clothing, Material Girl, sold at Macy’s. Check out her blog (she doesn’t update too often – I’m sure she’s busy at school) to find out what’s she up to.

Daniel Radcliff Busts Out ‘The Elements’

Written by Violet on November 12, 2010 – 11:27 pm -

Daniel Radcliffe gave a wonderful performance by singing the entire table of the periodic elements for his appearance on The Graham Norton Show. “The Elements” was written by lyrical satirist Tom Lehrer who Radcliffe called “kind of my hero.”

This makes me want to see him in the Broadway musical How To Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying) all the more.

Check out video with Norton’s other guests on the couch: Rihanna and Colin Farrell and how much they enjoyed Dan’s rendition of the crazy song many have used to help memorize the scientific table.

Daniel Radcliffe In ‘The Woman In Black’ NEW PHOTOS

Written by Violet on November 9, 2010 – 8:36 pm -

Post Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe is Arthur Kipps, a young solicitor in the very popular British ghost story The Woman In Black. The haunting tale of a lonely woman who dies and takes her secrets and pain to her grave, Kipps is charged with sifting through her paperwork in the empty desolate house while a feeling of unease overcomes him. Here is the official movie plot synopsis:

The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

Hammer Films has released two new photos from the film of Radcliffe in all his lawyerly sideburned goodness.  The story is originally from a 1983 novel by Susan Hill. It was so successful, it was turned into a stage adaptation in 1987 and has been a long-running play in London’s West End ever since.

Daniel Radcliffe Bites ‘Twilight’ In ‘The Simpsons’

Written by Violet on November 8, 2010 – 5:32 pm -

The Simpsons had a special guest star in last night episode: Daniel Radcliffe. We knew that Radcliffe would play a vampire named Edmund and that Twilight would find itself in the writer’s headlights, who knew how great Dan would be as a tiny vampire trying to turn Lisa Simpson?

The annual The Treehouse of Horror Halloween episode had the “Tweenlight” spoof of Edward Cullen this year, who was of course, famously played by Daniel’s one time Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire costar Robert Pattinson. It was delicious as Radcliffe delved into the voice over with zeal as Lisa resisted being turned (“I can’t be eight forever!”) and Homer comes to the rescue.

Check out two clips below and tell us – What did you think of the episode? Read more »
