Former Disney star Demi Lovato was attacked by a group of slightly over-zealous fans during a concert in Paraguay this week, during a leg of her South American tour.

According to sources, Demi was whisked off-stage by security, after she was bombarded from all angles by fans who ran up on stage during her show.  Lovato eventually returned to the stage, but apparently told fans they needed to “chill out”, if the show was going to continue.

This isn’t the first time the “Give Your Heart a Break” singer has been on the receiving end of abuse at the hands of her fans.  Just last week she got her hair pulled during a riot in Venezuela…

Sheesh!

“Sonny with a Chance” star Demi Lovato released a special message to her incredible fans via Cambio on Monday (March 7). This is the first time the actress/singer speaks after leaving a treatment facility, where she sought help following an incident with a backup dancer in October 2010.

WATCH VIDEO BELOW. Demi thanked her fans for the support, saying, “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the support you guys have given me along the way…Your support is what got me through this.” She explained, “I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls my age … but of all ages … are dealing with. I hope to one day raise awareness of everything so I can help people too.”
