Evan Rachel Wood has been hired by legendary fashion house Gucci to be the spokesperson for their new women’s fragrance. Frida Gianni, the creative director of Gucci  had this to say about Evan:

“Evan Rachel Wood is such a talented and beautiful actress. I have always admired her confidence and her ability to transform herself in front of the camera. Even though she can appear shy at times, when the camera starts rolling, she becomes animated and vivacious. She is incredible, very sexy, and her eyes and face really attract the people of her generation.”

The launch of the new perfume and when the ad campaign featuring Wood will hit is still being kept a secret.

The actress is currently filming Mildred Pierce for HBO with Kate Winslet.

Kristen Stewart and Anna Kendrick are among the nine up and coming actresses who made Vanity Fair’s March cover for the New Hollywood 2010 issue. Along with Mia Wasikowska, Amanda Seyfried and Evan Rachel Wood, Stewart and Kendrick are decked out in beautiful designer clothes, shoes and jewelry for the Annie Leibovitz cover photograph. Older men seem to have a special appeal to actress Evan Rachel Wood, 21. Now that she is free from Marilyn Manson, she has been seen around town with her former co-star Shane West, 31. The two met years ago when West played Wood’s television brother on the series ‘Once and Again.’ After the duo was seen at the premiere of her film ‘Whatever It Takes,’ speculation began and now they were photographed together at Hollywood hotspot Bardot, holding hands after celebrating West’s birthday on Friday. If it makes her happy, then I say good for her. She is smiling again and that is a pleasure to see.

Spiderman is getting the Broadway musical treatment and Evan Rachel Wood will be on board. ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’  will begin preview performances in February of 2010 at the Hilton theater in New York City. Wood will portray Mary Jane, spidey’s girlfriend. No word yet on the casting of the radioactive spider bitten guy Peter Parker, who woos Mary Jane and fights crime but we will keep you posted.

Wood also joins HBO’s vampire series ‘True Blood’  for a couple of episodes later this season.

Grrrl power will be in full force as ’Watchmen’ and ’300′ director Zack Snyder puts together an all female cast for his next visionary movie: ‘Sucker Punch’. Check out the cast in negotiations to start filming: Amanda Seyfried to star with Vanessa Hudgens, Evan Rachel Wood, Emma Stone and Abbie Cornish rounding out the 5 young women who do battle in an alternate reality. The Hollywood Reporter has the movie described as this:

Set in the 1950s, “Punch” follows a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Snyder, who co-wrote the script with Steve Shibuya, has described the fantasy world as ” ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with machine guns,” blending such elements as dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels.

Sounds like cinematic fun and a real departure for all the actresses involved. Let’s hope they can get this cast together – although I have to admit, I love to see someone like Dakota Fanning or Emma Watson as part of the cast.

At the premiere of her newest movie, The Wrestler, Evan Rachel Wood was kissed by her co-star Mickey Rourke setting off the rumor mill the two were now dating. Although she has dated an older man (you may recall her infamous hook-up with Marilyn Manson) the actress denies any romantic feelings toward Rourke.

“Mickey and I are very close, but it’s not romantic. It’s like we’re father and daughter.”

Wood seems to be enjoying her new sense of freedom since splitting from Manson.

Breaking up with Marilyn Manson must be traumatic but Evan Rachel Wood is taking it all in stride. The actress was photographed with a glam new look and a shy smile while chatting about her life, post Manson.

“I feel a lot better now than I thought I was going to,” the actress told OK! recently. It was hard at first, but I’ve kept my chin up, and it’s just fun now. I only have to answer to myself, and it’s great.”

Hope she is over him and moves on. I loved her in Thirteen, the movie by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. Her newest movie, The Wrestler, comes out later this month.
