Lionsgate Films, the studio behind turning The Hunger Games books into films, are taking a cue from Twilight and Harry Potter and splitting the final installment into an extra movie.

Just like Stephanie Meyers‘ Twilight series of three books becoming four movies, Suzanne Collins‘ three novels of THG will also add a fourth film.

Book one (The Hunger Games) and two (Catching Fire) will remain as one film each but the third and final book, Mockingjay, will be split for two blockbuster films.

Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have all had the fourth film built into their contracts to avoid the negotiations and issues that popped up when Twilight became so huge and the studio decided to add the extra film.

This is awesome news!

New York City is in full Glee-mania.

The cast of the hit TV show are filming the finale (the New Directions group is headed to Nationals) on the East Coast and Mayor Bloomberg took time out to welcome them at a press conference held at the Gershwin Theater.

Joking with the cast, the Big Apple Mayor said “Mayors don’t get a lot of time to watch television, so I don’t know much about this season’s plot but actually it would be great to see what happens with Finn and Rachel.”

“We’ve been filming ‘Glee’ in Los Angeles for two years. We’ve never met the mayor there,” said executive producer Dante Di Loreto.

The show is filming the season two episode (to air May 24th) and they will be around until the 29th. They are scheduled to shoot scenes at some of the major landmarks, including Lincoln Center, Times Square and Central Park.

So far, most of the cast has been spotted, papped and twitterazzi’d all around the city.

The cast and crew of Twilight were evacuated to a safer location today amid fears of a possible tsunami after the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Japan early Friday morning.

Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and other cast members were set to continue filming Breaking Dawn near the coastal town of Tofino, British Columbia when news broke of the quake and the threat of possible waves.

The Facebook page of The Twilight Saga was recently updated with a posting letting fans know everyone was safe:

“Due to the tsunami advisory, filming of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has been delayed. All cast and crew were evacuated to the movie production’s base camp. Everyone is safe and sound.”

New Year’s Eve filming in New York City continued this week with Zac Efron giving his costar Michelle Pfeiffer a vespa lift for one scene.

Efron plays a bike messenger and Pfeiffer a corporate secretary in the upcoming rom-com sequel to last year’s star studded Valentine’s Day.

In January at the Golden Globes, the 23 year-old actor told MTV’s Hollywood Crush:

“My scenes are with Michelle Pfeiffer,” Zac said with a grin. “Yeah, not a bad co-star.”

The Lucky One actor has worked with Hollywood legend Pfeiffer before. The two were costars in Hairspray.

Gossip Girl was filming scenes on the streets of Brooklyn, New York Thursday (February 24th) afternoon and some of the cast was on hand for photographers to snap.

Leighton Meester was in a very chic and pulled together Blair Waldorf outfit of ivory colored coat, tights and shoes with bright pink dress peeking out from under, a peacock green scarf and beautiful handbag all complete the look.

Her costars, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford were also around for the day’s filming.

Zac Efron is in New York City to work on his latest movie New Year’s Eve.

The 23 year-old actor is braving the winter weather to film his part in the ensemble featuring Michelle Pfieffer, Halle Berry, Ashton Kutcher, Abigail Breslin and Lea Michele.

Efron, who recently broke up with long time girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, was spotted with actress Teresa Palmer at the beginning of the month and onlookers described the two as affectionate, but Palmer says not true.

“Wow laughing at all these crazy comments!! I am only going to say this once and never say it again….

Zac is my FRIEND and I have known him for years. I am very happy to be single and felt the need to put his young fans out of their misery!”

New Year’s Eve is currently filming and due in theaters in time for the holiday.

A very odd pairing will occur during Super Bowl XLV when the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburg Steelers battle it out for pigskin supremacy.

Ozzy Osbourne, The Prince of Darkness and Justin Bieber, The Prince of Not-So-Much Darkness are teaming up for a Best Buy commercial airing during the annual football championship. The retailer said:

“We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy help us tell the Best Buy story,” Best Buy’s senior vice president of U.S. marketing, Drew Panayiotu, said. “We know people have high expectations for these ads and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun.”

Will Ozzy get a swish do? The 2011 Super Bowl XLV airs on Sunday February 6th.

Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz landed a sweet guest spot on NBC’s 30 Rock.

Moretz let everyone in on her surprise earlier in the week with twitter:

So!! Tomorrow I start filming #30Rock bright and early, so you all should expect tweeting to start before the sun shines…oh yes <3 Night!

After she finished filming, she said:

#30Rock was soo fun to film today everyone is soo nice tina fey and alec baldwin r amazing

Looking forward to this episode! I adore her and can’t wait to see her with Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.

Justin Bieber had an allergic reaction on the set of CSI Wednesday evening and was taken to the hospital.

The teenager was filming for his February episode of the CBS drama and had breathing difficulty. Bieber was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California for care. Everything was all right and he was released almost immediately.

“He is fine,” Bieber’s rep says. “He had a mild allergic reaction while they were wrapping up last night on the set of CSI. His doctor met him at the hospital to make sure everything was OK. He was released within the hour after his doctor declared him fine. He is back on set working today. All is well.”

JBiebs returned to the set today to finish filming his February 17th episode titled “Targets of Obsession.”

Demi Lovato has posted a thank you message to fans on her Facebook page.

The Sonny with A Chance star is still in treatment in the Chicago area for emotional and physical issues but does want her fans to know she is grateful for hanging in with her while she works on healing.

Demi said: “I wish to thank all the friends and fans who voted for me for the People’s Choice Awards and the Hot Hits Hottest Teen Stars of 2010. I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for standing beside me through it all.”
