Robert Pattinson Lists Ava Gardner & Katharine Hepburn As Favorite Actresses

Written by Violet on April 11, 2011 – 3:24 pm -

Robert Pattinson sports some scruff for the cover of France’s Madame Figaro May issue.

The Water For Elephants actor spoke about his love of Marlon Brando, old Hollywood actresses and how Kristen Stewart shares a little in common with Katherine Hepburn.

“From the only three movies with James Dean, I like Giant, with Elizabeth Taylor. But for me, the great icon of the 60s is Marlon Brando, with this kind of internalized rage, this duality between masculinity and hidden tenderness,” he said.

“I’m also a fan of gangster films with James Cagney and Paul Newman, especially Cool Hand Luke. And among actresses, I love Isabelle Huppert, and from the golden age of Hollywood the passionate/fiery Ava Gardner, and the so classy, rough and funny Katharine Hepburn. Kristen Stewart, whose acting I admire, has something Hepburn-like,” Pattinson shared.

He has great taste in movies and actors.

Zac Efron Channels James Dean For Wonderland Magazine

Written by Gossip Gal on September 7, 2010 – 5:25 pm -

Former High School Musical star Zac Efron channels a young James Dean with the super styled hair and black leather jacket on the cover of the upcoming issue of the British Wonderland Magazine (September/October 2010). This is a celebratory issue of the magazine’s 5th anniversary.

The 22 year-old has been dating HSM co-star Vanessa Hudgens for years and reveals that the key to a successful relationship is to always look at the positive aspect of everything.

Zac admitted, “What I will say is that there’s a lot of drama and distractions and, you know, bullsh*t at this age with women that I don’t have to put up with. But at the same time I’m getting to experience the amazingness and beauty of women. So I’m foregoing all of the negative things and really just getting the positive.”

Zac is also excited to be taking on more challenging and adult roles. He said, “I’ve never been more excited. Right now, I feel like it’s just getting interesting. There’s always been a roadmap to follow up until now. But now it’s like anything’s possible and that’s a really interesting place to be.”

Robert Pattinson Parade Magazine Interview

Written by Violet on March 11, 2010 – 12:18 pm -

Robert Pattinson is making the press rounds to promote his film with Emilie de Ravin, Remember Me. The actor gave Parade magazine a view into his thoughts on asking a girl out on a date, James Dean comparisons and meaningless celebrity. Here is an excerpt:

Dating good, asking girls out, not so good: “When it comes to the opposite sex, I’m not as fully confident as the guy I play. I don’t even remember the last time I asked someone out on a date, like, just went up to them and that’s the first thing I did. I’m much more self-conscious and not wanting to fail. So I tend to hold back.”

The James Dean influence, also good: “I think he was like the most influential person for young guys, especially actors, in the last 50 years. So yeah, I mean, I’m not ashamed to say I am very much influenced by him.”

Finding balance with work and privacy: “You keep trying to make your name stand for something other than just like meaningless celebrity. It’s a difficult battle, but I think people like Johnny Depp have done that. He’s not judged by his public image, it’s just his acting that counts. To get to that place takes a lot of discipline and a lot of hiding.”

Remember Me opens March 12th. Check out major spoilers here (but you were warned – don’t click if you don’t want to know!)
