Dakota Fanning grabs the cover (one of two versions featuring her) for Marie Claire’s August edition. (This one has an 80′s Madonna-ish vibe to it.)

The Eclipse actress opened up about growing up on screen, the red eyes she dons for her character Jane in the Twilight movies and Kristen Stewart chimes in on how grown up she is.

On growing up and fan reaction to more mature roles: “When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old,” Fanning says. “I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.’”

Red contacts covering her famous big blue eyes: “It’s something that’s always been there for me, that I have huge blue eyes — it’s been something that people have always talked about,” Fanning says. “But I enjoyed the red. You’re automatically transformed into a creature when you put those red eyes in.”

Kristen Stewart’s take on Dakota: “Dakota is so unfaultingly steady,” Stewart says. “In most cases, I feel like she’s older than me. It’s only when she starts talking about boys that I remember how young she is.”

August is Dakota Fanning magazine cover month and I couldn’t be happier. Canadian fashion mag Flare adds the fabulous Fanning to the front page and the Twilight: Eclipse actress looks fantastic. On maturing in Hollywood: “I’m going to get older. . . And I want to act for the rest of my life — it’s what I love — so I have to move forward with my career. The choices that I make might not always please everyone, but I have to do what I feel is appropriate and right for the time.”
On acting out: “I get my rebellion out through my movies. I’m boring in that way. I enjoy having a normal life.”
Kristen [Stewart] on Dakota: “Dakota is one of the most consistent actors I’ve ever worked with. I’m always better with her.”

Fanning is starring as the evil vampire Jane of the Volturri gang for The Twilight Saga films and will be in the musical biopic The Runaways with Kristen Stewart, due out in 2010.

Three brand new “New Moon” posters have been revealed. One features the Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and the Cullen family, the other the wolfpack lead by Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and on the third Jane (Dakota Fanning) is the center figure of the Volturi family. Luvs it!! These posters are amazing! We cannot wait for New Moon to come out (November 20).

Dakota Fanning is only 15 but she is an in demand actress and part of two of the most talked about upcoming films: The Runaways where she plays lead singer Cherie Currie and The Twilight Saga: New Moon as the evil vampire Jane Volturi.

She does all of this work while attending a private school in Los Angeles and manages to keep her head on straight when it comes to the fame and intrusiveness of the business. Able to have a private life (and not on the brink of self-destruction) she says:

‘‘You have to be able to separate your personal life from playing a character. . . . That’s not your real life.’’

Fanning is returning to Vancouver with the rest of the cast as they begin shooting the third film in the series: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

While filming is just getting under way for the ‘Twilight’  sequel, ‘New Moon’  more casting news is coming out about who will play the italian Volturi vampire clan. British newcomer Jamie Campbell-Bower has the golden ticket to teen fame now that he has been chosen for the role of Caius, leader of the Volturi.

Speaking to the BBC, Campbell-Bower said: “You’re the first people I’ve told” he said. “Shooting has already started, and I’m going over in June.”

He has had roles in Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp and Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla, and will be in The Prisoner  later this year. He joins Dakota Fanning as the latest addition to the Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner film series.

Actress Dakota Fanning was confirmed for the role of Jane, a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior who works for the Volturi, in the new Twilight series movie “New Moon”. Dakota’s character is not a regular but plays a big part in the series and I’m sure she will nail it! For a 15 year-old, Dakota is quite an impressive actress, don’t you think??
