ETOnline is reporting that actor Jackson Rathbone who plays Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, was injured and taken to a doctor while performing a fight scene for the film. Thankfully, it appears to have been minor.

“As a precaution, he was driven to the hospital and checked out by a doctor. He’s fine and is back at work on the set of ‘Eclipse’ today.”

Jackson Rathbone Delves Into Jasper’s History For ‘Eclipse’

Movie TrailersMovies Blog

In the upcoming release of the second film in The Twilight Saga, some characters with limited screen time will see their roles expanded. One fan favorite from the books was Jasper Hale, played by Jackson Rathbone, and he had a very small part in the first movie. That’s about to change. In New Moon and the now-filming third installment, Eclipse, Rathbone will have a chance to give depth to his Civil War Era human-turned-mood-altering-vampire.

“I’ve been studying up a lot on the Civil War and that era; it really was a crazy time, it was all-out war on our own turf and between countrymen,” Jackson told MTV News. “It’s an interesting time to see when Jasper was actually human, and what his human form was, and when he gets turned how intense and how dark he is. Then [we'll see] his realization of what he’s become, him finding Alice and being redeemed by love.”

In Eclipse, the Cullen family needs a leader and Jasper steps up to the plate to deliver the fighting techniques they’ll need to defeat Victoria’s army of blood thirsty newborns. Rathbone is given more substance to work with in the coming films and says that fans will get to see Jasper work his emotion calming magic in a school scene in New Moon. Jasper happens to be the character I like most and I’m looking forward to Jackson having more scenes in the next two flicks.

Read more of Rathbone’s MTV interview here. Can’t wait for November!

Jesse McCartney As Zuko in ‘The Last Airbender’

Written by Violet on January 7, 2009 – 11:56 pm -

Nickelodeon’s wildly popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting live action treatment from director M. Night Shyamalan and now Jesse McCartney is in talks to portray Zuko, the exiled and banished Prince of the Fire Nation. Nothing is confirmed as of yet.

The ‘Leaving’ singer is branching out more and more into acting, with a special appearance back in the fall on Law & Order: SVU and in March, he will be a multi-episode guest star on Greek.

Speaking of cast for The Last Airbender, (Avatar will be dropped from the movie title because Titanic director James Cameron has a new movie called Avatar coming out,) Jackson Rathbone (Jasper in ‘Twilight’ ) has been reportedly cast as Sokka, Aang’s sidekick and Katara’s brother. The Last Airbender is due out in 2010.
