Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz and his loyal rescued dog, Kola, star in a new campaign “Adopt, Don’t Buy” for PeTA. Save a homeless animal from a tragic destiny instead of spending a fortune in a pet store or breeder. Please consider adoption first if you feel lonely and want to be a true companion.

Animals sold at pet shops often come from “puppy mills” where they are cramped, filthy, and unhealthy conditions and lack proper veterinary care. Kellan says, “It’s our job to take [animals] under our wing and take care of them and give them a place to live.” (watch video below)

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz and his loyal canine friend Kola cover the latest issue of Doggie Aficionado. Kellan recalls when he completely fell in love with his lucky girl Kola, who was adopted, and confesses she taught him how to be a better man. Awww!! Here are some highlights:

On adopting Kola: “I have always been a huge advocate for saving animals, so I found it fitting, when I was ready for something new in my life, to look around the local animal shelters. . . . She looked me in the eyes, bowed and slowly and softly licked my open hand. As I pet this beautiful dog I realized how soft her multi-colored coat was, and felt her desperation for a real home. Our connection was so strong that it was like fate bringing us together. I knew she was the one. That was three years ago.”

On what he has learned from her: “Kola has taught me to be a man. I hope I have given her some deserved happiness.”
