It’s a battle of the brunettes!

Glee star Lea Michele had her ego bruised at this year’s Emmy Awards, and not just because she didn’t take home a little golden Emmy-thingy.

Shortly after the awards, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland appeared on E!’s Fashion Police and took and dealt a couple of low blows to the 25-year-old songstress’ Red Carpet routine,

So it’s like a slow-motion picture kinda thing. It’s just like, she puts her hands on her hips like this and sticks out her collarbone—I don’t know if you can see—she sticks out her collarbone to make her look skinnier and she goes [pouts lips] sticks out her lips… It’s very strange, it’s very strange. I actually saw a clip of her doing that on the red carpet and you see me in the background, like with my back turned looking at my publicist, being like ‘I don’t know what to do right now.’ Like this is very awkward for me, I’ve never seen anything like this before in my life.

Ouch!  Buuuuut to be fair, she’s got a point.  However, Ms. Michele didn’t quite see the humor in Sarah’s schtick and told US Weekly that,

I gotta be honest. It hurt my feelings a little bit… I really think the message of today is that women should motivate and empower women, and so that’s why I’m honored to be a part of today.

Hyland later apologized about the remarks via Twitter,

I did not intend for my comments to be taken in a malicious way… But I did hate [her] dress. Called her ass great. Did you all hear that one?

Congrats Lea. You know how to work the red carpet. I can’t take it as seriously as you… I can’t take myself that seriously. I don’t like the red carpet. I feel silly. So props to her for knowing what she’s doing and enjoying it.

Okay, I guess that’s sort of an apology…

Even though her joke was a little mean-spirited, I’m on Team Sarah – the world would be a better place if we all learned how to laugh at ourselves!

Glee super star Lea Michele made quite an impression on the red carpet in a stunning, gorgeous backless red gown by Marchesa of the 2011 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (September 18) – more pictures below.

Lea tweeted, “On my way the the #Emmys!!! Beyond excited!!!! Wearing tonight a gorgeous red dress by Marchesa and jewels by Lorraine Schwartz.” Later, she added, “What a beautiful night…So happy for everyone who won tonight:) And now I turn into pumpkin and must go to sleep.. Love you all! Xo”

The 25 year-old actress was one of the best dressed at the Emmys. Lea brought sexy back and owned the red carpet with her charming presence. Apologies to the other beautiful Glee girls, but Lea had the best red carpet fashion pick in Glee history. It was epic!

Strike a pose!

The cast of Glee is on board with Vogue magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to promote the annual Fashion’s Night Out event.

The PSA features Lea Michele and the cast taking on David Bowie‘s classic song “Fashion” and the entire video will debut on August 23rd on Vogue’s website.

Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz and almost all the cast were involved – notably absent was Naya Rivera and Amber Riley.

FNO will take place on September 8th at participating in over 250 cities world wide with special extended hours, promotions and deals. Leading retailers including Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Nordstroms are among the businesses taking part.

The September issue of Harper’s Bazaar has the fantastic Lea Michele on the cover in a white Yves Saint Laurent jumpsuit with gold chain running down the back. It’s not a terrific cover, to be honest, but the photo shoot inside is definitely the highlight.

The Glee actress poses for photographer Mark Seliger among the floral hedges and lush green setting wearing Lanvin, Dior, Moschino, Giambattista Valli and Gucci gorgeous-ness.

Lea, 25, shared how often she was told she wasn’t pretty enough and should have cosmetic surgery in order to have a successful Hollywood career.

“How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong,” Michele said.

The actress also fessed up to her love of a certain Glee guest star.

“I am obsessed with Gwyneth Paltrow. I was nervous and said, ‘I don’t think I can do that dance move.’ She said, ‘You can do it.’ She wasn’t afraid of anything. I love talking with Gwyneth. She just gives good advice. She said, ‘Don’t ever read anything about you’.”

It’s just too many celebs and too many stories to figure out what’s what, but the first trailer for the new Garry Marshall ensemble film, New Year’s Eve, is out.

Abigail Breslin, Zac Efron and Lea Michele costar with Jessica Biel, Robert DeNiro, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Katherine Heigl,  Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Sofia Vergara, Josh Duhamel… I could go on and on.

It’s a sort of sequel (re: money maker) to last year’s Valentine’s Day.

Lea Michele took part in the 2011 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City on Monday, May 2nd.

The 2011 Met Gala, as it’s more commonly known, featured an exhibit, the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty retrospective, which honored the late designer’s body of work.

The Glee actress chose a red Escada silk gown with contrasting detail at the bust line and minimal accessories.

Michele also posed with her sometime Glee costar, Gwyneth Paltrow on the red carpet.

New York City is in full Glee-mania.

The cast of the hit TV show are filming the finale (the New Directions group is headed to Nationals) on the East Coast and Mayor Bloomberg took time out to welcome them at a press conference held at the Gershwin Theater.

Joking with the cast, the Big Apple Mayor said “Mayors don’t get a lot of time to watch television, so I don’t know much about this season’s plot but actually it would be great to see what happens with Finn and Rachel.”

“We’ve been filming ‘Glee’ in Los Angeles for two years. We’ve never met the mayor there,” said executive producer Dante Di Loreto.

The show is filming the season two episode (to air May 24th) and they will be around until the 29th. They are scheduled to shoot scenes at some of the major landmarks, including Lincoln Center, Times Square and Central Park.

So far, most of the cast has been spotted, papped and twitterazzi’d all around the city.

Meanwhile, Rachel (Lea Michele) struggles with the imperfection of her nose and Emma (Jayma Mays) finally agrees to see a therapist.

GLEE 2.18 Born This Way Synopsis: In this sequel to the Lady Gaga-inspired episode of Glee, McKinley High glee club members Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) and Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) compete for prom queen and former member Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) returns to the school. Club co-captain Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) considers having rhinoplasty and her friend Puck (Mark Salling) helps her with a “Barbravention”. Marie Claire is Gleeking out the cover of their May 2011 issue! The girls of Glee, Lea Michele, Amber Riley and Dianna Agron, got their own cover and the posed for a group cover of the upcoming issue of the magazine (individual covers below).

The girls have different styles, but they are really good friends contrary to what people might think. The girls look glamorous and fabulous in blue together. In the interview, they talk about the show and reveal Lea and Dianna are rumored to be in a lesbian relationship. GASP!

Here are some highlights from the Glee Girls’ Marie Claire interview:

Marie Claire: – Your character’s friendship with Kurt is so special. Who’s your Kurt in real life?

Amber Riley – “Kurt! Chris Colfer really is my Kurt. That’s my baby. Having his character at that other school – Dalton Academy-this season is driving me up the wall.”

Dianna Agron – “Everybody is convinced that Lea and I are in a relationship. There are forums with photos of us hugging.”

Marie Claire: – You famously got into a car accident on the way to your Glee audition, ditched the rental and ran to the Fox lot anyway. Were you at all afraid they would think you were nuts?

Lea Michele – “I was more afraid that they’d think I was using that as an excuse for being late. Because at first they were like, “Oh, my God are you OK?” But after a while they were joking, “So that ‘car crash’ you were in….” I literally had chunks of glass that I pulled from my hair and put on the table. I look back on that day and think, I can’t believe I did that. I left the car on the side of the road. But something came over me.”

GLEE superstar, Lea Michele, was involved in a little fender bender while on her way back home from work on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, California at 2 am on Friday morning (March 25).

Do not worry. Lea is totally fine! But a couple of drunk girls who hit her car might be in seriously trouble. The girls fled the scene after recognizing Lea, but the 24 year-old actress got the license plate number and called the cops.

“Lea was hit and notified the police,” says the rep. “She was not injured and is fine.”

Adds a source close to the star: “A couple of drunk girls hit her, got out of the car, giggled that she was famous, said something like ‘are you drunk, too?’ Then they drove off.”

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Lea is in involved in a car accident. She remembers how she wrecked her car before her second audition for FOX’s hit show. Bad luck!

“For my second audition I got into a massive car wreck, left my crashed car in the street and ran into the audition with cuts and glass in my hair,” she said. “And then on the final audition, I had the worst neck ache from the car accident.”

Lea is in one piece. And she nailed the audition even with cuts and glass in her hair. That’s a good story to tell her grandchildren… thankfully, Lea was not seriously harmed in any of this automobile accidents.
