Actress Leighton Meester, who is making the transition from TV star to big screen beauty, claims she is all grown up and sometimes “a little bit fat” as the hot cover girl of the upcoming February 2011 issue of Nylon Magazine (pictures below).

In the interview, the 24 year-old talks about her characters, Blair Waldorf on “Gossip Girl” and Chiles Stanton in “Country Strong”, and how important are family and friends in her life. “The Roommate” co-star Minka Kelly confessed Leighton worked so hard to play Rebecca that she even scared her while the two were filming.

Leighton Meester on Blair Waldorf: “Blair is…. I don’t know what she is… I have to enter a completely foreign body to sympathize with Blair and her decisions. You know, Blair grew up very savvy, well-educated, and lonely. I think her mother is not the most supportive person and… Blair is very competitive and conniving, and it obviously comes, usually, from a very human place, but she makes decisions that I would never make.”

Leighton Meester on her Country Strong character, Chiles Stanton: “She is so scared of people thinking of her as this ignorant, vapid, pretty face, and you know, I can totally understand where she’s coming from because, especially if you come from Dallas Texas, you’re a beauty queen – you don’t play the guitar, you’re writing seemingly meaningless pop songs. All that I can relate to, totally. It’s sad and sweet at the same time.””

Minka Kelly on Leighton Meester during the filming of The Roommate: “She worked with psychologists; she really studied the illness of the character, so much that at times on set i was a little concerned whether or not she was there because she scared me so much! The look in her eye was so surreal I was in awe at how much she committed to it.”

Leighton Meester on Her Family and Friends: “I like to be judged by my family and friends because they know me. If they think I’m being an asshole I’d like them to tell me, but if I’m fat or something I’m like, “Well, so? OK? Great!” It doesn’t even matter; it’s like, “What if I am fat? Does it matter?”… I’m a grown woman and sometimes, I might be a little fat, you know! Am I alone there? Not really!”

Actress Leighton Meester graces the cover of the latest issue of Spain’s Cosmopolitan Magazine (July 2010). The Gossip Girl star has a fabulous body and she sure knows how to flaunt it in sexy little skimpy outfits. Leighton, who wishes she had more time for her music career, talks about defining moments in her life, who inspires her and fashion.

Here are some highlights from Leighton Meester’s Spanish Cosmopolitan interview:

What was the most significant event or moment in your life, which has lead to your stardom today?
LM: I can’t second guess anything that’s happened because every aspect of my life while I was growing up, whether good or bad, easy or hard, has lead to the present. I am lucky to have a wonderful, solid family that gave me a lot of love. I give a lot of credit to inspirational films I saw when I was young, like Imitation of Life, Interview with the Vampire, Goodfellas, American Beauty, Dangerous Liasons and East of Eden. Also, being instructed time and time again to follow my gut and believe in myself has been a great help.

Your success today is a shining example. Who or what drives and inspires you to be the success that you are?
LM: My mom, my grandpa and my brothers all inspire me. Actors I love are Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Kate Winslet, Diane Keaton, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn. The musicians I love are Dolly Parton, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, and Cyndi Lauper.

Which designer/s outfits make you feel amazing when you wear them?
LM: My favourite designers include Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, YSL, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Phillip Lim, Balmain, Alaia, Chanel, Emilio de la Morena, Balenciaga, Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu…the list goes on. In my eyes there are no rules in fashion, especially on the red carpet. I just like having fun, expressing myself and experimenting.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was one of the three lucky girls (Leighton, Zoe Saldana and Amanda Seyfried) chosen for a triple cover of Glamour’s Most Glamorous Women Of 2010 special issue. The 23 year-old confessed, “I’m inspired by fashion and sex and my friends. I love strong, awesome, hot women—Debbie Harry, Gwen Stefani, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna.”

When asked if she will ever get married, Leighton says that is not the most important in a relationship but she would consider it if it’s important to her partner. “If it was important to somebody I loved, maybe I’d think about it, but I don’t think that I’m the type. It’s not for me. I believe in love, children and being a good person,” Leighton told Glamour. Leighton is currently dating actor Sebastian Stan.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester looks absolutely fantastic and stylish on the cover of the latest issue of Glamour UK (December 2009). Leighton, who is working on her debut album which comes out next year, claims she is not affected by criticism because at this stage of her life she is doing exactly what she wants and she is having FUN!

Leighton said, “I’m proud of the work that I’ve done. I don’t care what people label me as. If they want to say I’m an actress, and I should never sing, that’s fine. If they know me for my music, because they don’t watch my show or my movies, that’s fine, too. I’m doing what I want with my life. I just do…me.”

Leighton is allowed to do everything she wants – she is young, gorgeous and talented!

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester looks absolutely fabulous on the cover of the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar (September 2009). The actress/singer, who was recently involved in a sex tape leak scandal, opened up for the first time about the incident, on her guilty pleasure and fame.

On her alleged sex tape: “[The tape] is not real, so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did. I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is. By the way, [as for] me being 18 in those pictures, I don’t believe I was.”

On fame: “I don’t want most of what comes along with all of this. I’m doing everything I can to keep things separate. I feel like my friends are in a cult because we’re like, ‘No outsiders!’ I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest. I don’t do anything to hurt anybody. Honestly, all I ever do is work.”

On her guilty pleasures: “You know, I’m trying to think of what I’m ashamed of. But, damn, I don’t really have any shame.”

Do You Nice Guys Really Finish Last? “I’m not into bad boys. I think the term is stupid. A guy who cheats on you or is not nice to you? What is that? Nowadays, I’m much more mature in relationships. I’ve let go of the bullshit. I think more about the deal makers than the deal breakers. I want a guy I can look up to.”

Leighton on Real-Life BF Sebastian Stan, who also plays Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl: “I’ve never fallen in love right off the bat. I get scared to say, ‘I love you’ too soon because it means so much. It means you’re not seeing an end to things.”

Leighton on Blair’s Romance with Chuck Bass (Played by Ed Westwick):“They’re so perfect because they get each other. Chuck knows about her deep, dark side and he finds it hot. But the best part of their relationship is that it’s realistic. People don’t always date for a while and then slowly fall in love. They start by hooking up one night. It takes time to get to know someone, and then you realize that you’re in love later on.”

Beautiful Leighton Meester is featured in the latest issue of The New York Times Magazine and speaks about her character ‘Blair Waldorf’ in the hit TV show Gossip Girl and her new music career.

On Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf: “I actually find Blair naïve. I look at young girls like her who are obsessed with guys and with being the most popular and the prettiest, and I just want to shake them. Maybe you just grow up a little faster when you’re a young performer, but I was definitely never like that.”

On her upcoming CD: “The music is electric and very pop, with a little bit of rock to it. It’s not like bubblegum – it’s very edgy.”

Leighton Meester shows off her optimist side for Seventeen Magazine. The 22 year-old actress, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf in the TV show Gossip Girl, says: “You can’t judge anyone for what they’ve done because people change.”
