LISTEN: Abigail Breslin Sings In ‘Janie Jones’
Written by Violet on April 30, 2011 – 11:39 pm -Abigail Breslin walked the red carpet for the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival Premiere of Janie Jones held at the SVA Theater in NYC on Friday, April 29th.
The 15 year-old wore a long camel colored skirt with crisp white sleeveless top. She pulled her newly blonde hair back and definitely had a grown-up look for the event.
In the film, Breslin is Janie, the daughter of a musician who never knew she existed until her mom drops her off with dad, only to disappear. Her father, played by Alessandro Nivola, is forced to take her on tour with him and it’s there he finds out how talented she is.
Breslin does her own singing in the film. Listen to the first song “Fight For Me” below. She’s great!

Allison Iraheta’s New Single “Friday I’ll Be Over You”
Written by Violet on October 5, 2009 – 10:00 pm -American Idol alum Allison Iraheta is releasing her new single “Friday I’ll Be Over You” and you can hear it now at PopEater.com. The seventeen year old who made it to the final four has just finished the AI tour and is looking ahead for her music.
What were you looking to convey with ‘Friday’?
Pretty much show who I really am as an artist, and what I really want to continue doing for the rest of my life, which is this. Just really do awesome music for the rest of my life.
Catchy tune and it’s perfect for her style – rocker chick with that slightly husky voice.

“Satellite Heart” From New Moon Soundtrack: Take A Listen
Written by Violet on September 29, 2009 – 3:42 pm -Anya Marina is one of the artists included on the upcoming soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Her song ‘Satellite Heart’ (listen to the song here) is a haunting tune that will be featured in the movie to Marina’s favorite scene. Here is what the songstress had to say about being included soundtrack:
A few months ago, I was asked by Chris Weitz (the director of the new Twilight movie (New Moon) to come in to his office to screen the latest Twilight movie, New Moon. I guess he’d heard my cover of T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” and really liked it. Naturally, I was thrilled. I heard all sorts of my favorite bands were being considered for the soundtrack (Thom Yorke, Death Cab, Grizzly Bear, etc). In fact, on the day of my own private screening, as I walked in, The Killers were making their way out.
oh.
em.
gee.
Suffice it to say, the movie was great and I got really inspired to adapt a new song I’d been working on to suit Bella and Edward and their whole drama. I got together with my friend, producer [and mixer on Slow & Steady...] Ken Andrews, and we recorded a pretty mean version of a new song called “Satellite Heart.”
When I heard that Chris decided not only to include Satellite Heart in my favorite scene in New Moon, but also in the soundtrack, I was–pardon the pun–over the moon. I can’t wait to see it in the movie or for you to hear some of the straight-up sick remixes that’ll be coming out soon, too. For now, stream the song (and check out the lyrics) on MySpace, and then pre-order the soundtrack through iTunes to be able to download ‘Satellite Heart’ instantly.
Enjoy. See you in November!
x
Anya
