Miley Cyrus Hits The Bong, Caught Smoking Salvia

The 18 year-old talks for the first time about the bong scandal and confessed that she really regrets being caught smoking salvia because she feels like she disappointed her fans.

The Hannah Montana star believes people are too hard on her and should not judge her. Miley is still a teenager – she has the right to make mistakes, but it doesn’t mean she will become the next Lindsay Lohan.

On her salvia bong scandal: “I’m not perfect … I made a mistake. I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans. But they’re [critics] not Miley Cyrus … They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”

On her relationship with Avan Jogia: “If you look at the picture, I’m turned away, and he’s kissing me on the cheek. It’s very hilarious to me that people say, ‘They’re making out.’ In making out, there’s a tongue.”

On on-screen mom Demi Moore: “It really felt like Demi was my mom a little bit because we had such great conversations, and I feel like it shows on-screen. I can’t wait for LOL to come out. It’s what I’m most proud of.”

On the year of 2011: “Spread love and change the world in 2011.”

Actress Miley Cyrus, who is currently promoting her new movie “The Last Song”, gave an openly honest and heartfelt interview for the latest issue of Parade Magazine. The 17 year-old talked about the pressure of being in the spotlight, her fans, faith, Lady GaGa, her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and, once again, the real reason why she left Twitter.

Miley has grown up to be a very sincere and beautiful human being. Of course she makes a lot of mistakes – we all do! We HEART Miley. Here are some highlights from Miley’s Parade interview (photos below):

On her fan base: “I am screwed up in the mind a little bit because I’m not like other 16- or 17-year-old girls. I have no perspective of who exactly my fans are, to tell you the truth. Teenage girls in general are hard for me. I’m not a girl’s girl.”

On country music: “It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat and boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it’s not going to sell. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all.”

On the paparazzi: “You have to ask, ‘Why would any other 50-year-old man who was stalking a 17-year-old girl go to jail, but not these guys?’ I mean, they couldn’t sit outside of a high school but they can sit outside my recording studio. It’s creepy.”

On her faith: “To me, faith is about having a clean slate and a clean start. The one thing I’m really strong about regarding my religious beliefs is that you should know a little bit about everything before you define your own beliefs.”

On Twitter: “I believe God is the only one who can judge us. That’s the reason I deleted my Twitter, because I said I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got hate mail about being a bad person.”

On Liam Helmsworth: “[Liam has] become my best friend. I love him. He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia, he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here. I got to tell him about myself on my own terms.”

On Lady Gaga: “I really love her. She’s really smart. I used to be like, yeah, I guess she’s talented but how much is she really singing. But I’ve become a convert. She has to be smart to come up with all the stuff she comes up with. She gets it.”

Miley on how “The Last Song” changed her: “In L.A., I had so many security blankets, people helping me with everything. I tried to book my friend a flight, and I didn’t know how because I was used to someone doing it for me. I didn’t want a babysitter anymore. I came to Tybee Island crying harder than I had ever cried in my life—and I left with the biggest smile on my face.”

Miley on meeting Liam: “He’s really tall. I thought, Either I’m going to have to be in heels or standing on something for this entire movie! He definitely showed chivalry: I remember him opening the door for the director, and I was like, Wow.”

Liam on meeting Miley: “It was funny—working with Miley was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. From the first time we read, it was like I had known her before.”

Miley on taking a break from music: “The more I make music that doesn’t truly inspire me, the more I feel like I’m blending in with everyone else. So after this next album, I’m taking some time off.”

Miley on Sex And The City: “I know everyone says Carrie, but I love Kim Cattrall, so I’ll say Samantha. I want to be her because she’s the hottest, she’s funny, and she has attitude.”

Miley Cyrus, who just celebrated her 17th birthday this week, is the new cover girl for the latest issue of Seventeen Magazine (December 2009/January 2010). In the day of the photo shoot, the magazine presented Miley, their style icon, with a surprise party to celebrate her success at the tender age of 17 (watch video below).

Miley wants to be as fierce as Beyonce when she grows up “I want to be like Beyonce. She is the ultimate woman. You look at her and you don’t think, I wonder what her personal life is like. You look at her and you go, That girl on the stage is a superstar. You don’t care about anything else; you only care about her music. So I would hope that would be me in the future.”

On the value of style: “I would pay $500 for the jeans that we make for $20. I’m really into high fashion.”

On natural beauty: “I like these crooked. I love my teeth. My dad won’t let me fix my teeth or cut my hair. He loves it. He’s like, ‘It’s you!’”

On Justin Gaston, her boyfriend at the time of the interview: “We’re together, and then again, we’re not. Some people see us more as friends and don’t get why we work in a relationship. They’re like, ‘It’s weird, best friends shouldn’t date!’ But the person that you eventually spend the rest of your life with – I’m not saying it’s him – why are you going to wake up with someone every day and not want to hang out with them?”

On the difficulties of being a teen star and why she’s friends with other young performers: “It’s hard for all of us. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick and Demi, we don’t need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on.”
