Zac Efron Military Style Buzz Cut

Written by Violet on December 28, 2010 – 6:48 am -

Zac Efron cut his hair.

The 23 year-old actor who had to have his head shaved for his part as a Marine in the movie The Lucky One, decided to put it to good use.

Efron convinced some of the crew members to cut their hair as well and donate them to Locks of Love, the children’s charity dedicated to providing hairpieces to kids who have long term medical hair loss.

The New Orleans based Kingsley House (where Lucky was filming) is also getting a holiday donation from the actor. Efron pledged money to the local organization for each crew member that had their hair cut.

Now that was very nice.

Written by Violet on August 13, 2010 – 10:31 pm -

Justin Bieber is proving what a generous heart he has. The Canadian teen pop star is donating to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to help residents affected by the flooding that hit the Volunteer State earlier this year.

“I’m really glad to be here and to help out something that’s really important to me,” the Tennessean quoted the Canadian pop sensation as saying. “Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and you know Nashville, there’s so much music history here.”

Bieber raised over $32,000 from his sold out show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and the concert promoter has promised to match the donation. Nice!

Daniel Radcliffe: Real Estate Mogul

Written by Violet on October 19, 2009 – 5:42 pm -

When you are one of the richest young actors in the world, what do you do with that money? Some party it away and others make smart choices for their future. Daniel Radcliffe is looking ahead and has purchased several properties in New York City as investments. He has an apartment in SoHo, a three bedroom condo with a view of the Hudson river and now he has a townhouse in the Greenwich Village area. The actor is back in the UK filming the final installment in the Harry Potter franchise: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. He may eventually end up living in one of these homes when he returns to Broadway next year but for now he is a just a young, talented landlord. The picture below is the interior of his new house. Sweet.

Rupert Grint’s Charitable Birthday Wish

Written by Violet on July 31, 2009 – 7:31 pm -

As his 21st birthday approaches, (August 24th,) Rupert Grint fans wanted to do something special to commemorate his day. His UK-based fan site RupertGrint.org got together with him and his family to chose a charity to support, the one to sponsor in his honor: Teenage Cancer Trust.

Every day in the UK, up to 6 teenagers or young adults (between the ages of 13 and 24) will find out they have cancer that is approximately 2,100 new cases a year. These young people, in the midst of their already difficult journey to adulthood, suddenly find themselves faced with a possible life-threatening illness and very often receiving treatment in inappropriate facilities with inadequate support options. Teenage Cancer Trust grew by chance, out of the eagerness of a group of women to organise a fashion show to fund a children’s intensive care heart unit at Guy’s Hospital, London. The fashion show was a resounding success and the women, high on the adrenalin of triumph, were ready to take on the world. Little did they know – they had!… The women went on to raise funds to build the very first TCT unit at the Middlesex Hospital in London in 1990.

Go to the Just Giving Page to give directly or find out about setting up a fundraiser, bake sale, walk or any other creative way to help out a great cause.

Donate what you can, either money or time to help out this cause and give Rupert a great 21st birthday present.

Prince Harry In America More Often?

Written by Violet on June 28, 2009 – 9:34 pm -

After a very successful trip at the end of May of this year, England’s Prince Harry may visit the United States more often to continue to garner support for his charity Sentebale. While in New York City last month the charming Prince, who is third in line to the British throne, was able to raise quite a bit of money for his organization in Lesotho, Africa to help ease the suffering of children who are affected by the AIDS epidemic.

“Harry’s polo match was a big success and raised a substantial six-figure sum,” says one of Harry’s chums. “He is keen for the American Friends of Sentebale to build on that success.”

We’d love to see more of the very attractive Prince here in the U.S. His mother, the late Princess Diana, was very fond of the time she spent here and while Prince Harry won’t be moving here, a few more jaunts to the States would be welcome.
