Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon are making eyes at each other in the new trailer for Water For Elephants. The plot: Family tragedy spurs a young veterinary student (Pattinson) to ditch his previous life and hop the rails only to end up joining the circus during The Great Depression. He meets Marlena (Witherspoon) who is in love with a very cruel animal trainer (Christopher Waltz.)

The movie is based on the novel by Sara Gruen and is due in theaters April 2011.

The Scream movie franchise is headed back to theaters with a new installment in April 2011. Scream 4 reunites original director Wes Craven, writer Kevin Williamson and stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette with a brand new batch of young actresses and actors lining up to be killed on the big screen. Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Lucy Hale, Aimee Teegarden, Rory Culkin and Shanae Grimes are just a few of the new faces added to the bloody mix – some to survive and some will only last moments at the hands of Ghostface. Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma Roberts, upcoming movie “The Winning Season” is more than a typical basketball movie – it’s about leadership and human relationships! It’s a funny movie with a deeper meaning, written and direct by James Strouse (watch trailer below).

Emma said, “I thought the script was really cool, and it was a movie that had basketball in it, but it’s not like a basketball movie. It’s about so much more than that. I met Jim [James Strouse] and I really liked him, I thought he was a cool guy, and Sam [Rockwell] was attached to do it, and I’ve known Sam for a very, very long time, and I definitely wanted to work with him. It just seemed like it would be a really great project.”

The Winning Season tells the story of Bill Greaves (Sam Rockwell) is an adult misfit recruited by the local high school principal (Rob Corddry) to coach the school’s floundering girls’ basketball team. Initially retreating from what appears to be a hopeless situation, Bill perseveres and manages to help the team and its captain (Emma Roberts) ratchet up its competitive spirit, while the girls offer Bill a renewed life focus.

This could be a Disney movie for men facing a midlife crisis. No kidding. We think Emma should be taking more challenging roles because she really is a great and versatile actress. Good luck!

High School Musical star Zac Efron will star in a movie of personal discovery, grief and romance based on Ben Sherwood’s novel “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” (movie trailer below).

Charlie St. Cloud is a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother. So much so that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried.
