Selena Gomez rocked the black carpet of the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday night in a black lacy Julien MacDonald dress with short skirt and long overlay in the back.

The 19 year-old hosted the pre-show and interviewed lots of celebs, including her boyfriend, Justin Bieber and his pet snake (see that video here.) Gomez also hosted the MuchMusic Awards in June this year, adding to her red carpet resume.

Even though Gomez is touring currently, she’s always seems to have another project going – this time she’s working on a new fragrance.

Justin Bieber is really going for the Ashton Kutcher/prankster vibe and had some fun with girlfriend Selena Gomez on the black carpet of the 2011 MTV VMAs pre-show that she was hosting.

Bieber brought along a friend to the VMAs – a small little snake he had wrapped around his hand as he stepped up to Selena’s mic for a short pre-show chat.

While Gomez tried to get her 17 year-old boyfriend to talk about what he was wearing (red pants and cheetah shoes BTW) he thrust the snake at her. She shouted at him “Stop! I know!” clearly grossed out by the little reptile.

The two were laughing when she asked Bieber to tell everyone what he named the snake. Well, if you haven’t guessed by now, it’s “Johnson.”

In the end, Selena smiled and said “Thanks for hanging out with me, babe.” The Biebs seized his opportunity and planted a kiss on his girlfriend’s cheek. Cute!

Bieber also won an award – Best Male Video for his song “U Smile.”

The 2011 MTV VMAs had lots of gorgeous gals but Demi Lovato managed to make a stunning entrance in silver that turned everybody’s head.

The 19 year-old singer chose the metallic dress by Mandalay that had a deep v for a sexy peep at her cleavage.

Lovato’s long, flowing brown locks were left curly and highlighted in copper at the tips. She accented her shiny frock with more shiny baubles – bracelets and rings. Demi looked great!

Demi also caught up with BFF Selena Gomez on the black carpet at the pre-show and the “Skyscraper” singer met up with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas.

Taylor Lautner always looks good and tonight was no exception at the 2011 MTV VMAs held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live on Sunday, August 28th.

Kitted out in a black jacket, jeans and a white shirt, the 19 year-old Twilight: Breaking Dawn star flashed that killer smirk (with a bit of sexy stubble) on the carpet for the awards show.

Lautner was asked about the infamous kiss he received from Robert Pattinson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards – was it fake or was it the real deal?

“Oh, I was definitely kissed by,” he clarified to MTV News during the VMAs’ black-carpet pre-show. “It was quite a shocker.”

Lautner was there as a presenter. The Abduction hunk was hot hot hot.

Miley Cyrus is a showstopper at the 2011 MTV VMAs held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live Sunday night.

The 18 year-old singer chose a multi-print, curve hugging, blue with black long-sleeve, backless gown from Roberto Cavalli. She accented her look with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Cyrus kept her hair pulled back for a more sophisticated look.

Miley was a presenter at the show. She took the podium with snowboard pro Shaun White to announce the winner of Best Rock Video.

Ashton Kutcher has a new day job with his role in Two and A Half Men but the show he created for MTV, Punk’d, is moving ahead with a new version.

Last October, rumors swirled that Justin Bieber was going to be the new prankster taking celebrities down the hidden camera way. While that may not be the case any longer, the Biebs is involved in at least one of the new shows and he’s already gotten a practical joke over on his pal Taylor Swift.

While we don’t know the specific shenanigans JB got up to involving the unsuspecting Swift, we do know it was filmed Friday in Los Angeles.

This should be good. Justin loves a good prank and would make a great Kutcher 2.0 don’t you think?

Ashton is still serving as the producer on the new show and each week a different celeb hosts. Sounds like Justin and Taylor are up first.

Taylor Lautner walked the red carpet for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The Twilight Saga stud wore a black shirt and jacket with dark gray pants all from Dolce & Gabbana at the event.

Lautner and his Eclipse costars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, presented a new teaser trailer from Breaking Dawn featuring Bella and Edward’s wedding and honeymoon (see that video here.)

The 18 year-old was also in host Jason Sudeikis‘ opening spoof of the Hangover II and he got a big kiss from Robert Pattinson during the ceremony.

Leighton Meester flashed some serious silver on the red carpet of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles.

The Gossip Girl star opted for a Balmain dress that was heavy on the metal embellishments with every inch covered by anything you can think of – beads, mirrors, crystals and all sorts of studs. I love this on her. She looks incredible.

Unfortunately, as great as she looked, it didn’t translate into a Golden Popcorn win for the 25 year-old. Meester was up for Best Villain for her role in The Roommate but perpetual favorite, Tom Felton took the prize for his role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter.

She did get to present with her Monte Carlo costars. Meester, Katie Cassidy and Selena Gomez introduced Lupe Fiasco to the crowd that evening.

Emma Stone wowed everyone with her style at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards held at Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheater Sunday night.

The Amazing Spider-Man star picked a yellow and gray striped dress with black lace overlay from Bottega Venetta. The scalloped edge skirt with fringe and a black ribbon belt were perfect on Stone. The actress also has dyed her blond hair back to red.

The 22 year-old picked up the Best Comedic Performance award and beat out Russell Brand, Zach Galifianakis, Adam Sandler and Ashton Kutcher.

She also presented the Best Villain award to Tom Felton with her costars Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell from Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Striking in a bold shade of blue, Blake Lively skipped the red carpet but did present at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheater on Sunday.

The 25 year-old Gossip Girl actress chose a Michael Kors dress is a brilliant bluejay color and had small sheer panels just under her shoulders for a quick peek of skin.

Lively was a presenter for Best Kiss Award with her costar from The Green Lantern, Ryan Reynolds.

The pair were introduced by host Jason Sudeikis who poked a little fun at Lively saying “someone we believe is the real Blake Lively, though she won’t confirm it,” referencing her nude photo scandal and the denials it’s her in the intimate snaps.
