According to very saddened sources, after nearly three years of dating the curtain has fallen on Vampire Diaries costars, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s on-set romance.

Wah waaaaaah

According to reports, Ian and Nina are “consummate professionals,” and will continue working side by side on the set of Vampire Diaries without any interruption to the show.

[Nina and Ian] will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started.

Amicable coworkers we buy, but best friends?  We think these two may have se the bar a liiiiiiittle high for their post-breakup work life.

We wish these two crazy kids the best, but we’re banking on at least a few awkward moments at the craft services table…

Apparently, October is “Give The Cast of The Perks of Being a Wallflower a Magazine Cover Month”!

The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is the cover girl for the October issue of Seventeen Magazine and the 23-year-old actress looks pretty in pink as she dishes on her red hot romance with costar Ian Somerhalder!

I didn’t want to be dating one of my costars… My goal on the show was to be professional. But sometimes you can’t help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long – which I did for a really, really long time.

Aw, can’t you just picture little Nina scribbling “N.D + I.S” in little hearts all over her Vampire Diaries scripts?  Reminds us of the days she spent longing for J.T. on Degrassi: The Next Generation!  

Much like her The Perks of Being a Wallflower costar, Emma Watson, Nina was also spotted kissing her beau at the Coachella music festival last month.  Although the couple officially came clean about the romance back in April, Nina still blushes every time she talks about giving in to the temptation of dating someone she works with.

The first time I was on the cover of Seventeen, the cover line said, ‘Nina: Why she wouldn’t date any of her costars,’… “And then cut to two years later … it’s funny that I said that.

Hilarious.

According to sources, the dynamic dating duo of The Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are not – we repeat – not engaged.

Yet.

Despite the rumors that have been swirling regarding the fact that Ian is “dying to propose”, the couple, who’ve been together for two years, still say they are not ready to walk down the aisle.

In a recent interview with Canada’s FASHION Magazine, Nina spoke out about tying the knot with her longtime beau.

Eventually I am going to marry and have a family but not anytime soon… I’m not going to pull a Miley.

And during a chat with Access Hollywood she went even further.

I mean, that’s not my [style]… I’m young. I’m really young. It’s not like back in the day where you have to get married and have your children by 18… I’m a career woman and a young, very driven woman, and I’ve got a lot I have to accomplish before I settle down and have kids and do any of that.

Okay, okay -we get it!  You’re NOT getting married.  But Nina?  You should probably lock that Ian down sooner rather than later… he’s quite the catch!

Star of  The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev shocked the world Thursday night, when she pulled a “Bella Swan” during the season three finale of the hit CW show.

In an exclusive interview, the 23-year-old actress opened up about her character’s transition into the world of the undead…or the forever-alive… or whatever you want to call them.

We’re definitely going to see her whole transition into becoming a vampire. We’re not going to skip over it, as we have with others. Becoming a vampire, everything you feel is heightened. . . We know what Elena’s like: She has high morals, she looks out for other people. So what’s Elena going to be like with those things accentuated?

So why did Elena choose Stefan when it was sure to leave her looking super pale and gauntly for the rest of eternity?  Because, like, WE were totally hoping she’d end up with Damon and stay all moral and cute – at least for another season or two!

It does kind of feel like you’re disappointing half the people. But you’re always going to disappoint half the people with this kind of storyline. I think we gave them both what they wanted at some point or another during the season, so it’s not like we shunned them or disregarded their wants.

Alright, alright – we guess we’e satisfied with that answer.  Season 4 can’t come soon enough!!!

It’s getting close to the return of The Vampire Diaries and we’ve got photos from the season 3 opener “The Birthday” and some details of the ep.

We know the show starts up with Elena’s 18th birthday (so she’s legal guardian to her younger brother Jeremy, now that Aunt Jenna is dead.) Stefan is on his Great Ripper Race with Klaus and Damon is brooding. Caroline and Tyler are getting closer – much closer. Jeremy still sees dead people, but now he does it at the Mystic Grill, working with Matt.

TVD returns Thursday, September 15th at 8pm ET.

The Vampire Diaries stars are red hot and Rolling Stone grabs the super sexy leads for a fun photo shoot.

Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev fall, jump and stare in the hottest way possible. I mean seriously – who else but these three can fall and look absolutely amazing at the same time!

Here’s what they had to say:

Ian wants you to peep TVD: “The whole Twilight thing is about to be over. And teenage girls can’t watch True Blood with their parents — that would just get weird. So we’re getting ready to kick some major ass this season.”

Nina on the photo shoot: “We’ve been doing a photo shoot that’s unlike any that we’ve done before,” says Dobrev. “We’re testing the limits of gravity.” (Err… falling is actually adhering to the laws of gravity… I’m guessing she’s referring to how the end shots look.)

TVD is back with season 3 premiering Thursday, September 15th at 8pm ET. Their issue of Rolling Stone (with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the cover) is on sale now.

Nina Dobrev was a knock out at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, August 7th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA.

The Vampire Diaries star hit a fashion home run in a D & G blue gingham dress with squared neckline and flared skirt. She had her hair pulled back in a cute ponytail and looked great!

I have to say, I like this look so much better than what she’s worn at other awards shows recently.

Nina Dobrev stepped out on the red carpet in San Diego last weekend for the Cowboys & Aliens premiere.

Dobrev and some of her costars from The Vampire Diaries, were at Comic-Con promoting the show’s upcoming third season.

The 22 year-old  chose a black dress with lace inset panels from Zuhair Murad. Nina paired the dress with an orangey red set of platform heels.

The actress and her boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, were also spotted at the EW party later that evening where the two were reportedly “inseparable” and indulged in a little PDA.

The upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries promises loads of plot twists and turns – let’s face it, it’s become known for shocking the viewer with unpredicted journeys.

One of last season’s carry-over storyline – Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) reverting to his ‘blood addiction’ thanks to Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) evil ways – has Wesley very excited to explore this side of Stefan, according to costar Nina Dobrev.

“Paul is very happy that Stefan is now going to the dark side,” Dobrev told MTV at Comic-Con.

“He’s really excited about it, and I think it’s going to be great for him. He’s a very strong actor, so it’s awesome.”

Nina drops a small hint about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and his ability to be the hero with Stefan out of the way.

“He’s as heroic as Damon can be,” she said. “Damon will always have a rough, kind of tough side to him, so take that as you will.”

“He has redeeming qualities but he’s still damaged goods in many ways, as we all are. We’ve all got baggage.”

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on Thursday, September 15th.

“The Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev confessed she is not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, especially when she does not have a boyfriend to share it with, in a new interview for MTV (see video below).

However, the 22 year-old actress ended up revealing she is a hopelessly romantic when she chose Aerosmith’s power ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” as her favorite slow jam.

Nina was also asked about what would be the perfect Valentine’s Day for her characters, Elena and Catherine, in the CW’s hit show. For Elena, Nina says she should go on a date with Matt and eat a burger; and Stefan and Damon should offer Catherine a bunny (a living one for her to feed on…). Funny.
