Jennifer Lawrence attended The 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Beach in California on Saturday, February 26th.

Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana white openwork skirt with lace embroidery, a georgette bodysuit and her hair long and wavy, Lawrence had an informal, yet still dressed up look for the ceremony.

The 20 year-old actress will walk the red carpet for tonight’s 83rd Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

The Winter’s Bone actress is nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She is up against the odds-on favorite Natalie Portman but she could surprise everyone at Sunday’s event.

Vanessa Hudgens chatted with Access Hollywood Sunday night (March 7th) about her Oscar dreams. The Beastly actress was at the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and told AH she “can only hope” she gets to take a statuette home one day. Hudgens also shares how excited she is about her upcoming movie Sucker Punch. Check out her interview above.

Kristen Stewart may have another project up her sleeve shortly. The Twilight actress is reportedly ready to sign on to star in An American Girl. Actor James Woods is directing the script and gives this summary of the plot:

“It’s about a young woman who is really destructive. It’s that magical time right after you’re out of high school. She was the top swimmer and dive champion in school. Now it’s a year later and she lives in a little town in Indiana and the place is dying, she’s working in a grocery store and drinking and drugging too much and she’s showing off in front of this guy who likes her, and gets involved in a big sex thing with two guys drunk one night at a quarry. She gets taped doing it on somebody’s phone and in a small town, her reputation is ruined and on a drunken whim, she joins the Marines, which is ridiculous.

Stewart has had quite a number of projects in the past couple of years, including Adventureland with Jesse Eisenberg, The Runaways with Dakota Fanning and of course, The Twilight Saga films. Woods believes this project will earn Stewart an Oscar nomination. That’s a pretty bold statement.

Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez admits to adoring actress Kate Winslet. The young Disney star is looking forward to a future where she can take on more interesting work like Winslet and Winslet’s latest movie is her favorite for the Oscars.

“I love Revolutionary Road,” she told Usmagazine.com last week at the GBK Golden Globes Gifting Suite in Beverly Hills. “That is the movie I want to take all the awards. I can’t even get over it.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio just kill it,” Gomez added.

Gomez wants to take on more complicated and diverse roles. She is also looking forward to touring to promote her new album due out this summer.

Just as Winslet gets to work with her famous friend, DiCaprio, Gomez hopes that she’ll get to tour with her best pal, Camp Rock‘s Demi Lovato.

“I’m so happy to be with her,” she said. “We’re going to have sleepovers on the bus, and we’ll never actually get any sleep!”

That would be a fun concert for her fans and for them.

Miley Cyrus performed her new song “I Thought I Lost You” featured in the movie Bolt, which can possibly earn her an Oscar.

Teen star Miley Cyrus is on the list to win an Oscar for Best Original Song with her song “I Thought I Lost You” (co-written by Jeffrey Steele) included in the movie “Bolt”. Miley performs her own song with John Travolta in this movie and John seems to have a lot of confidence in his 16 year-old co-star.

“I knew she was writing it with her partner, and I thought, ‘Well, it will be a cute song, whatever it is. I’d agreed to sing it, so whatever it is I’m going to sing it, ‘ ” Travolta recalled of early trepidation when he heard Cyrus herself was penning the song, which plays over the end credits of the new Disney animated movie.

“Well, it was something great. I mean, those lyrics, the melody, those choruses are A-plus stuff, you know? She’s really gifted at writing, and she really wanted to write something good for me as the character Bolt, so she went out of her way with her writing partner to come up with something good, and I really think they pulled it off. I know something about music, and I’m telling ya, I was blown away.”

“[The song] so sums up the theme of this film. You know, a dog and its owner and they both were separated, but they love each other so much — there’s such an emotional payoff when these characters get reunited, and I think that’s what this song’s about,” executive producer John Lasseter said. “When [Miley and John] sang it, it just really, really works. I mean, it’s a great song unto itself, but it really works in the movie.”

WOW!! An Oscar is exactly what Miley needs now to finally make her the ultimate worldwide superstar she wants to be. Girl got talent!!!
