New York City traffic is rough on horses. PETA and Glee’s Lea Michele are calling attention to the conditions of the horses who pull carriages through NYC traffic everyday.

“Imagine for a moment that you’re forced to do hard physical labor all day, seven days a week—whether it’s sweltering hot or freezing cold outside,” Lea says. “At the end of the day, instead of relaxing on [an] easy chair or sleeping in a comfortable bed, you are locked in a tiny closet all night long.”

The horses suffer a miserable fate according to the organization: lung and respiratory diseases, leg ailments and very cramped stalls and living quarters. The accidents caused by the carriages or other motorists end in terrible injury to both humans and animals (see the PETA fact sheet here.)

Michele and PETA (among other organizations) are calling for a boycott of the rides.

Beautiful Christian Serratos is the November cover of Troix magazine.

Serratos, who will begin filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in New Orleans in the next couple of weeks, has been busy attending Hollywood parties including PETA’s 30th anniversary and the 2010 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party (see photos here.)

Serratos has also completed work on another film, 96 Minutes, but that has no release date yet. She costars with Brittany Snow in the movie about four kids whose lives intersect through a carjacking, the decisions they make and the effect those choices have.

Glee star Lea Michele is seriously considering to strip off her clothes to show off her incredibly thin vegan body completely au natural for an upcoming issue of Playboy Magazine… or for PeTA!

“Lea looks gorgeous, and obviously, Playboy noticed,” the friend says. “She loves her new look, and she might do it if she thought it would boost her career.” Lea’s rep denied the rumors the 24 year-old would pose naked for $500,000.

However, Lea is ready to take her clothes off. And she would obviously do it for PeTa. “I don’t think we need to see a billboard of me naked to know I am anti-fur,” the Glee star tells RadarOnline. “But if they asked I would probably do it.”

Lea is not a girl, but she is a beautiful woman. She can make her own decisions on whatever is best for her career and her life. I’d just advise Lea to eat a hamburger – a vegan hamburger! – because she is starting to look scary skinny.

Twilight actress Ashley Greene was nominated the winner of PETA’s annual Kind Choices Awards after she chose to represent a “cruelty-free” brand of cosmetics by Avon.

PETA wrote, “It doesn’t take a psychic to know why we’re so psyched about Ashley’s affiliation with Avon. The company is a true industry leader: In 1989, Avon became the first major cosmetics company in the world to end all testing on animals. So here’s to the dawn of a new era of Avon ads featuring Ashley! And congratulations to the lovely actor for winning PETA’s award!”

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz and his loyal rescued dog, Kola, star in a new campaign “Adopt, Don’t Buy” for PeTA. Save a homeless animal from a tragic destiny instead of spending a fortune in a pet store or breeder. Please consider adoption first if you feel lonely and want to be a true companion.

Animals sold at pet shops often come from “puppy mills” where they are cramped, filthy, and unhealthy conditions and lack proper veterinary care. Kellan says, “It’s our job to take [animals] under our wing and take care of them and give them a place to live.” (watch video below)

The Twilight Saga: New Moon has a new rising star: Christian Serratos. The actress who plays a small role as Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) best friend Angela, the very beautiful Serratos is making a name for herself recently with a PETA ad and now the Winter 2009 cover of Runway Magazine. The issue is on sale November 18th.

Actress Christian Serratos, who plays Angela Weber in the ‘Twilight Saga’, joins other celebrities in a new campaign ‘Save The Seals’ for PETA to end Canada’s annual seal slaughter.

Christian says, “They’re being beaten with ice picks, and their skins are being peeled off their backs in front of their mothers, which is just unreasonable and ridiculous and evil.”

Full on pimp daddy fur wearing rockstar Kid Rock is taking aim at the animal rights activist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and he is not holding back his anger towards the group’s tactics.

“I’m just willing the animal rights protesters to chuck some red paint on me. I understand people’s problems with it but to throw paint on someone is just wrong. They do it to little Hollywood actresses who can’t defend themselves.”
