Australian actress Mia Wasikowska has the title role in the upcoming film Jane Eyre, the classic Charlotte Brontë novel brought to the big screen. The script is said to focus heavily on the Gothic undertones of the story. Wasikowska is costarring with Michael Fassbender and Dame Judi Dench as Mrs. Fairfax.

Based on Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel, the romantic drama stars Mia Wasikowska (“Alice in Wonderland”) and Michael Fassbender (“Inglourious Basterds”) in the lead roles. In the story, Jane Eyre flees Thornfield House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester. The isolated and imposing residence – and Mr. Rochester’s coldness – have sorely tested the young woman’s resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned. As Jane reflects upon her past and recovers her natural curiosity, she will return to Mr. Rochester – and the terrible secret that he is hiding…

Saoirse Ronan has a new film out at the end of the year: The Way Back. The 16 year-old Irish actress plays Irena, one of a group of people who persevere through unbelievable hardships to find freedom.

Inspired by Slavomir Rawicz’s acclaimed novel, The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom as well as other real life accounts, six time Oscar nominated director Peter Weir’s (“Witness”, “Master And Commander”, & “Dead Poet’s Society”) “The Way Back” is a remarkable adventure story chronicling the escape of a small group of multi-national prisoners from a Siberian gulag in 1940 and their epic life affirming journey over thousands of miles across five hostile countries.

The Way Back gets a limited release on December 29th (just in time for Oscar nominations) and goes to more theaters January 21st.

Leighton Meester is costarring with Garrett Hedlund, Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow in the December 22nd release Country Strong. The newly released poster focuses on the four stars of the relationship drama film with country music theme. Here is the official synopsis:

Soon after a rising young singer-songwriter (Hedlund) gets involved with a fallen, emotionally unstable country star (Paltrow), the pair embarks on a career resurrection tour helmed by her husband/manager (McGraw) and featuring a beauty-queen-turned-singer (Meester). Between concerts, romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.

Leighton will be in a number of films at the beginning of 2011. First up on February 4th is The Roommate with Cam Gigandet, Aly Michalka and Katerina Graham. The following weekend is Monte Carlo with Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Cory Monteith. She then hits the big screen with Hugh Laurie in The Oranges.

In Meester’s immediate future is the return of Taylor Momsen to Gossip Girl on the Monday October 25th episode “Easy J.” Momsen’s Jenny returns for a chance to meet Project Runway’s Tim Gunn (guest starring as himself) and Blair is not happy to see Little J back in Manhattan.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (or as I like to call it HP 7.1) has still more new posters out featuring the dark ominous overtone that is becoming familiar for the ending films. “Trust No One” is the tagline for the heroes shots while the villians get “The Hunt Begins” as their motto.

Warner Bros. has released another movie poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1. Earlier in the week the studio pushed out three posters with each of the leads in a separate shot (see those shots here.) This time Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are together.

The epic film hits theaters on November 19th.

Three new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1 movie posters have appeared and they are as dark as the movie promises to be. All three stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are subjects of the “Nowhere Is Safe” theme.

These last two movies are going to be amazing! I can’t wait.

Two more super sexy photos to promote the second season of The Vampire Diaries have surfaced with Nina Dobrev center stage.

These (I believe) showcase the duality of Nina’s two characters Katherine Pierce and Elena Gilbert. The photo with Nina, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder dressed in black has the evil, narcissist vampire Katherine lounging with the Salvatore brothers and the cast pic in white is Elena torn between her men. The show and the cast are on fire!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has a new poster announcing the bittersweet end to the fantasy movies. Part one opens in theaters November 19th 2010.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are going to be missed as Harry, Hermione and Ron.

The official trailer (first full trailer) for Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning’s new movie “The Runaways” has been released (watch video below). They look rocktastic! We cannot wait to see this movie.

The Runaways follows two friends, Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning), as they rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary group that paved the way for future generations of girl bands. With its tough-chick image and raw talent, the band quickly earns a name for itself-and so do its two leads: Joan is the band’s pure rock’ n’ roll heart, while Cherie, with her Bowie-Bardot looks, is the sex kitten. Based on Currie’s book Neon Angel.

The Runaways was expected to hit theaters this month but the premiere date has been pushed back to April 9, 2010.
