David Archuleta was invited to perform the “Star Spangled Banner” at the NASCAR Nationwide series Royal Purple 300 event on Saturday, March, 26th.

Archuleta, who was among celebrities Howie Mandel and Molly Ringwald at the racing day action, gave a lovely rendition of the National Anthem for fans.

The 20 year-old also posted a video blog for fans.

Jesse McCartney walked away with a bruised ego and nothing more, thankfully – after the singer hit a tire barrier during the 2010 Toyota Pro Celebrity Grand Prix event held in Long Beach California yesterday (April 17th.) Toyota racing officials tweeted his results:

“And for all you Jesse fans, he finished 11th in the Celeb category and 16th overall. He is OK and thanks you for your support.”

Brian Austin Green came in 1st place this year (for the celebs) and last year’s winner, Keanu Reeves, came in 11th. Next year Jesse!

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint gave the starting flag a wave for the race car drivers at RAF Marham and the Richard Burns Memorial Rally in Norfolk England. He was there with his family to support one of the drivers in particular, his younger brother James, as well as be the official starter for the rally.

On his brother’s turn at the wheel: “It’s quite a new thing for him. He is just getting started, but he has got a natural ability. I wouldn’t have a go. The cars go really fast so it’s not something I am brave enough to do. I trust his ability though. So far he hasn’t had any accidents.”

Sounds like a nice weekend for Rupert and his family.
