The Vampire Diaries “The Return” Recap

Written by Violet on September 10, 2010 – 12:05 pm -

The second season of The Vampire Diaries premiered Thursday night and wow! was it great!

The aptly titled episode “The Return” brought back so much more than just what we initally thought. Not only did Elena Gilbert’s doppleganger Katherine Pierce return (in crazy, manipulative vampire form with both parts played very well by Nina Dobrev) there was a return of the nasty, bitter, I-hate-humanity Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and the dominance of the Elena/Stefan (Paul Wesley) romance.

The show picks up right where season one ended… if you haven’t seen it and want to remain in the dark – don’t go any farther!

The Vampire Diaries Recap: Episode 12 ‘Unpleasantville’

Written by Violet on January 29, 2010 – 10:56 am -

After watching The Vampire Diaries ‘Unpleasantville’ last night, I realized that Mystic Falls is the US headquarters of ‘Vampires-R-Us’ and there is some kind of super villain convention going on for the Free Katherine society – let’s make t-shirts! Here is a recap the fifties decade dance of death episode

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is getting stalked by Anna (Malese Jow) who also happens to be a vampire. Poor Jeremy. She only wants him for one thing: the Gilbert family diary which contains the answers to releasing Katherine from her tomb prison. Fortunately, Jeremy gave the old journal with written instructions (why would you write that down??) to his history teacher (and vampire hunter/hater) Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis.)

‘Glee: Vitamin D’ Episode Recap

Written by Violet on October 9, 2009 – 12:28 pm -

Glee is gaining momentum. Not that I haven’t already sung it’s praises to you but in this week’s episode – all the plotlines are knitting together like one big sweater.

Even better? Coach Sue was back plotting, scheming and writing in her demented journal (loved how she gave it a name “Journal.”) Sue planted the seed in Terri’s mind about Will and Emma having an affair and Terri was just too eager to get a job at the school to monitor Will’s every move.

Rachel, Finn and the Glee-ers were given ephedrine (Vitamin D as she calls it) by Terri who became the school nurse and the boy versus girl mash-ups were great (guys: It’s My Life/My Confession and girls: Halo/Walking On Sunshine.) The kids decide they don’t want to compete that way and confess to using the ‘helpers.’

Coach Ken proposed (he promised to keep her “life clean of sadness”) to Emma and she said yes but refuses to live with him or have any physical contact with him…

Quinn decided to go with Terri’s plan and just give her the baby when it’s born but in the meantime, she tried to get Terri to pay for the baby’s things and medical expenses but Terri stopped her dead in her tracks saying: “I’m gonna be paying the bills for eighteen years, I think you can handle nine months.”

The ‘Vitamin D’ use was discovered, Terri was fired but now Will has a partner in dealing with Glee – Coach Sue. Will was livid with Terri and his final shot to her was “Every time I light a fire in my life, you find a way to make sure it burns the forest down.”

Next week’s episode: Takedown! Can’t wait for the showdown between Will and Coach Sue.

The Vampire Diaries ‘Family Ties’ – Episode Recap

Written by Violet on October 2, 2009 – 7:26 pm -

The Vampire Diaries did not disappoint this week. The show is beginning to delve into the history of The Brothers Salvatore, their relationship to the town and the hotness that is Ian Somerhalder knows no bounds.

Awesome Twilight dig from Damon: “Edward is so whipped!”

So let’s sum it up:

Caroline (Candice Accola) is under Damon’s (Somerhalder) control for most of the episode. She knows he’s a vampire, he feeds on her blood and that he will kill her eventually and still keeps his secret. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is physically and mentally weaker than his evil brother because he does not feed on human blood and Damon takes advantage of this and invades his little bro’s dreams.

The town has a long standing tradition called The Founder’s Day party and the Salvatore family has history that is slowly being uncovered by Elena (Nina Dobrev.) Stefan tries to counter Damon’s mind manipulation and gives a vervain-enhanced locket to Elena so she can see through his wily attempts. Oh and the human uncle Zach has a secret stash of the plant growing. Damon tried to wipe out the anti-vampire plant vervain some time ago. Shhhh!

Elena’s family has a pocket watch that is coveted by the townspeople (who are aware that there are vampires in their midst) and the group wants it. Elena has handed it over to her brother who was sentimental about it belonging to their dead parents but a long lost love shows up to court their Aunt Jenna and get it back. Watch = Silver bullet/stake in the heart kinda protection perhaps?

Damon gets played by Stefan who spikes Caroline’s drink with vervain and when Damon drinks her blood, he ends up in spasms on the ground. Stephan and Zach throw Damon into the locked room with the strength sapping plant and think their problems are solved. Tricky!

After Damon’s influence is gone, Caroline starts to remember all the vile things Damon has done and is about to have a nervous breakdown in Elena’s arms.

Now it’s getting juicy!
