Pixie Lott Is BeatBullying Ambassador
Written by Violet on November 7, 2010 – 9:27 am -“Get Weak” is a song Pixie Lott wrote in response to the pressures of being bullied and the talented singer has donated it to BeatBullying.org. Lott has been named the Ambassador of the organization and the 19 year-old is stepping up to get the word out about the online protest The Big March.
Pixie Lott today donates her anti-bullying anthem ‘Get Weak,’ penned about the pressures of bullying, to raise awareness of Beatbullying’s The Big March. In her new role as ambassador for the charity, Pixie has created a virtual representation of herself – an avatar complete with her trade mark platinum blonde hair and big hazel eyes – which will join 400,000 other supporters on the pioneering protest march. Pixie’s avatar also stars in a poignant music video to accompany the track.
It’s great that she is lending her voice and song to stop the painful and very hurtful bullying that causes so much anguish.
Pixie also announced on her twitter that she is filming the video for her next single “Can’t Make This Over.”
Check out more photos of Lott and her Fred, The Movie costar Lucas Cruikshank, from the JackAss 3-D movie premiere in London earlier this week by hitting the link. Read more »

Mysterious ‘Tower Prep’ Lands On Cartoon Network
Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 6:01 am -Tower Prep - sounds formal, stuffy and maybe even a little boring – but this prep school is anything but. The new show on Cartoon Network (not animated, by the way) about gifted teens with supernatural secret abilities is described as a cross between Harry Potter and I Am Number Four.
The show centers around several real teens played by Drew Van Acker, Elise Gatien, Ryan Pinkston and Dyana Liu, who attend a mysterious preparatory high school. Each of them has a secret power and Drew’s character is just discovering what his is – that’s the part that is kind of like ‘I Am Number Four.’ The school itself is a bit like Hogwarts in the sense that it’s only for gifted students. But that’s where the similarities end. The school is kind of creepy and its headmaster is no Prof Dumbledore. Yeah, we said it. We don’t like him.
The four teens spend their time investigating the school’s hidden agenda while trying to escape.
The live action adventure drama premieres on Tuesday October 19th.

“Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education,” says Swift. “The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back.”

Jordin Sparks “America’s Biggest Sleepover” Project
Written by Violet on October 5, 2009 – 8:41 pm -Jordin Sparks takes being a role model seriously. The American Idol season 6 winner has recently posed for the ‘Drink Milk for a Change’ campaign, focusing on getting teens to make better choices for a healthy alternative to soda. Next up: the singer is part of “America’s Biggest Sleepover” project from BeingGirl.com to foster self-esteem in adolescent and teen girls all over the country.
Tell us about your decision to do Being Girl.
They asked me about it a while ago and I needed to see what was all about first. I saw BeingGirl, logged on, and thought, “This is so cool.” It’s an internet community for girls, by girls. The thing is a girl can log on from New York and talk to someone in Seattle about her issues- boy problems, puberty, whatever she is going through. Sometimes your friends aren’t always there when you need them. I just thought it was the greatest thing. I saw “Sleepover” and I love sleepovers – I was really excited to be a part of that as well. For every girl that registers $1 is being donated to the foundation called Protecting Futures. It’s a foundation that’s all about keeping girls in school. They hit me with a 1-2-3 punch.
Sparks truly takes it to heart her responsibility to all the girls who look up to her.
Go to BeingGirl.com to sign up for the sleepover on November 7th. Get your friends together that night and see an exclusive performance from the ‘Battlefield’ singer. Girl Power!

New Vanessa Hudgens ‘Bandslam’ Clip
Written by Violet on August 8, 2009 – 8:26 pm -MTV has a new clip from the upcoming Vanessa Hudgens movie ‘Bandslam’ which opens Friday August 14th. Co-starring with Gaelan Connell, Hudgens plays Sa5m, (‘the five is silent’) who forms a band & enters a contest with Connell’s Will and the popular cheerleader, Charlotte, played by Aly Michalka.
Earlier in the week, Hudgens was reminded of her nude picture scandal when those old photos resurfaced from 2 years ago. It has been speculated that they were ‘accidentally’ released just in time to promote her new movie. What do you think?
Who’s planning on catching the movie? Don’t forget a brand new, exclusive trailer for ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ will be in theaters opening weekend. Tell us what you think.

‘Harry Potter’ Cover of Entertainment Weekly
Written by Violet on July 10, 2009 – 8:41 pm -Harry Potter mania is in full swing once again as the sixth film, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince is finally headed to theaters after a very long wait between The Order Of The Phoenix and this one. Since this is the last film to take place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, the actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are glad to be done with the maroon and gold of Gryffindor House uniform:
“I was like ‘Burn it!’ Oh my god, to be done with those shoes and that uniform — that was an exciting day,” says Watson. Radcliffe adds, “When you’re 18, one of the worst things to be wearing while trying to chat up a girl on the set is a school uniform. You look like a kid! You’re not going to score dressed like that!”
Looking forward to the film – how about you?
