Disney Buys A Pilot Penned By Chris Colfer
Written by Violet on April 21, 2011 – 4:47 pm -Glee star Chris Colfer is adding one more notch to his resume.
The 20 year-old actor has written and sold a TV pilot to Disney based on the kids book The Little Leftover Witch, by Florence Laughlin. The storyline follows a young witch who takes a tumble off her broom and has to stay with the human Doon family for one year because witches can only fly on Halloween night.
Colfer has written (and sold) a screenplay before. Struck by Lightning, the indie movie he penned, will film after the Glee tour he’s about to embark on with the cast.
The talented Colfer has done all this before his 21st birthday (May 27th FYI.)
What’s up next Chris?

Is Liam Hemsworth Up For A Role In ‘The Hunger Games’
Written by Violet on January 23, 2011 – 1:02 pm -Liam Hemsworth is reading the script for The Hunger Games right now and the actor wants in.
The Australian actor spoke to MTV in Park City, Utah at the Sundance Film Festival and revealed he loves the “action, gritty kinda of stuff” that drives the story when asked about the Suzanne Collins series of books.
Hemsworth hasn’t met with director Gary Ross but does feel he will have a sit down with the director in the near future. “I mean it’s pretty early right now, but, yeah, I’m sure I’ll meet on it soon.”
The Last Song actor’s name is being tossed in the ring for the role of Peeta, however unless they’ve cast Katniss and are keeping it a secret, they are no where near casting the role of District 12′s male tribute.
What do you think of the possibility of Hemsworth in The Hunger Games?

City Of Bones Is Headed To The Big Screen
Written by Violet on October 16, 2010 – 5:26 am -Author Cassandra Clare’s book City of Bones will (finally!) be made into a movie. The first in the teen sci-fi/fantasy series The Mortal Instruments, has a script and should start casting fairly soon. Here is the official announcement:
Screen Gems has teamed with Constantin Film and Unique Features to develop the motion picture franchise MORTAL INSTRUMENTS based on The New York Times Bestselling book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Jessica Postigo penned the script which is based on the first book in the series, City of Bones. Constantin Film’s head of Film & TV Martin Moszkowicz will executive produce and Robert Kulzer will produce the project via the Constantin Film banner along with producing partners Michael Lynne, Robert Shaye, and executive producer Dylan Sellers via their Unique Features banner.
In City of Bones, set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendent of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world. When Clary’s mother disappears, she must join a daring group of young Shadowhunters on an adventure, which leads her through a city filled with mischievous fairies, eccentric warlocks, werewolf gangs and other strange creatures.
I loved the books and hope that they get a great director who can pull it off.
Now for the fun part: Who do you want as Clary, Jace, Simon, Alec and Isabelle? Everyone wants Alex Pettyfer for Jace but I think with his parts in both Beastly and I Am Number Four he would be unlikey to take a role in another sci-fi movie. I’d like to see Bonnie Wright for Clary. Any thoughts?

‘Scream 4′ Adds ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale
Written by Violet on August 28, 2010 – 8:16 pm -Cameos are plentiful in Scream 4 as Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is added to the expanding cast. Shanae Grimes of 90210, Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin are also popping in to the ultra successful movie franchise created by The Vampire Diaries head writer Kevin Williamson.
Filming has been underway in Michigan with Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, David Arquette and Adam Brody.
So who is going to be killed in the opening scene? Oh, Mr. Williamson – what trick do you have up your sleeve?
So much fun trying to guess but we will have to wait until April 2011 to find out for sure.

‘Breaking Dawn’ – Two Movies Are Better Than One
Written by Violet on February 11, 2010 – 11:45 pm -How many movies will Breaking Dawn, the final chapter of The Twilight Saga be made into has been a guessing game for fans of the series for some time. Summit, the studio that gives us the popular movies, had said that there would be only one BD flick even after actor BooBoo Stewart (Seth Clearwater) confirmed what most fans hoped for and had been assumed – there would be two movies.
Previously, author Stephanie Meyer said in an interview with MTV that she knew right where the film should be split – if it were to be made into two films and at that time seemed genuinely happy to have a two part ending to the saga. In January however, it was reported that Meyer could not “decide whether or not [making two movies] is the right thing to do creatively” and perhaps there was tension between the studio and creator. Meyer, who has given few interviews over the past year, issued a denial regarding any problems between herself and movie executives but it did make you wonder what was the problem?
After all the hoopla and behind the scenes drama, two movies will be made. An official announcement is due as early as next week. No director has been chosen (Chris Weitz, New Moon’s man in charge, has passed) and filming/production dates will need to be nailed down for all the actors – especially Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning and Ashley Greene who have lots of offers and other commitments.
The third film, Eclipse is due in theaters June 2010, and the first full length trailer was rumored to be attached to Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, opening this weekend (February 12th) however that has been debunked.
What do you think? Happy with two movies or ready to see Rob and Kristen in other non vampire stuff?

Stephanie Meyer’s ‘The Host’ Getting A Script
Written by Violet on September 23, 2009 – 4:13 pm -Famous for her Twilight series of novels that are now movie phenomenons, author Stephanie Meyer will have her other book tuned into a movie as well. Three producers have purchased the screen rights to her novel, The Host and Andrew Niccol is attached to direct and write the screenplay. For those who don’t know the basic plot of her non-Twilight book here is a summary:
Meyer’s novel is a love story set in the near future on Earth, which has been assimilated by an alien species of benevolent parasites that call themselves “Souls.” One such soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth.
Obviously still in it’s early stages, no casting or release date is ready yet.

Ashley Tisdale Open To ‘Teen Witch’ Remake
Written by Violet on August 1, 2009 – 10:35 pm -Ashley Tisdale is still receptive to the idea of starring in the remake of the 80′s teen classic Teen Witch, provided the script gets finished and she isn’t involved in anything else.
About a year ago the project was kicking around and Tisdale was a potential star however since then, it’s gone pretty cold and until a script gets completed, no one is on board. Tisdale is keeping her options open as she says in the video interview with MTV.
