“Wizards Of Waverly Place” star Selena Gomez was invited for a special Ten@Ten at the Jay Leno Show on Wednesday (January 20). The 17 year-old actress had to answer questions like “what’s the oddest place you have ever been recognized?” and “would you have plastic surgery?” and, finally, she was asked to name 5 Shia LaBeouf’s movies.

Selena released the following statement, “Trick–or–Treat for UNICEF invites children and adults alike to make Halloween count by joining UNICEF to do whatever it takes to help save children’s lives. This October, I would like to encourage everyone to make a difference and support UNICEF’s mission to reduce the number of daily preventable deaths of children, from 25,000 to zero.”

On picking a partner: “I used to say that I wanted someone cute and nice, an actor too, so he’d get it. But now I think it would be good for me to date someone who’s not in the business. I want someone honest, someone who’s very sweet to my family and friends, and polite to the other people around me. Being cool, having a ‘cool’ energy, is just not attractive to me…I’ve learned that I want what I deny. I want someone who is crazy about me, who treats me like a princess. I want the picture-perfect fairy tale stuff.”

On friendship with her Disney co-star Demi Lovato: “Demi and I have always been there to support each other. I’ve probably listened to 100 of her songs, and she came to every single taping of my show the first season. We’re both surrounded by adults 24/7, and we have to act professional, but when we’re together we can just be sixteen—we watch movies and talk about boys and do each other’s hair and makeup. We both go through a lot, so it’s nice to know that no matter what, I’ll always have her.”

On her upcoming “techno-pop-rock” album: “It’s what I’ve gone through with heartache, friendships, and things like that. I want my fans to know me a little bit better after they hear this record.”

On being a teen celebrity, including the perks and the pitfalls that come with it: “I always wanted this to be my life but I don’t want it to live my life for me.”

On admiring Britney Spears: “In a way, Britney can be someone to look up to. She was constantly being looked at and picked on, and it’s starting to happen to me. At the moment, I don’t have anything good they can pick on me with, but they’ll find something. Maybe I can be as strong.”

On being proud of her Latin roots: “I didn’t even realize what a big deal it was to be Latin at first. But then one day being with my dad, it hit me: it’s pretty neat to be Mexican. And there aren’t enough Latinas in Hollywood-or there are, but they don’t get the recognition. So to be able to come out here and use that, it’s really a powerful thing.”

On the so-called feud with fellow Disney star, Miley Cyrus: “I think Miley can agree with me. There are so many more things going on that are so much more important to us in our lives than wasting time on that stuff.”
