Shawn Johnson Refuels America

Written by Violet on August 13, 2010 – 9:35 pm -

Shawn Johnson was among the gold medal winners at the Refuel America event at the 92nd street Y on August 11th. The Refuel America campaign is the latest Got Milk? advertising getting the word out that low fat chocolate milk helps a person’s body recover quicker.

Refueling after exercise, especially during the two-hour recovery window, is key in helping the body recover and prepare for the next workout or competition. And, when it comes to recovery, lowfat chocolate milk offers post-exercise benefits. It includes the right mix of protein and carbohydrates to repair and refuel exhausted muscles, plus fluids and electrolytes to rehydrate and help replenish what’s lost in sweat.

The superstar gymnast is with athletes Apolo Ohno and Chris Bosh in the latest milk mustache posters.
