Justin Bieber Sued by Fan for Unsafe Decible Levels at Concert
Written by Kelly Bandas on July 14, 2012 – 10:51 am -Now we’ve heard everything. Loudly.
According to reports, pop star Justin Bieber is being sued by a (former) fan for having unsafe decibel levels at a Portland, Oregon concert last year.
Apparently, Stacey Wilson Betts (or more appropriately, her mommy) decided to sue the 18-year-old after she experience hearing loss due to deafening Bieber Fever shrieks and a “sound blast” that “exceeded safe decibel levels.”
During the July 2010 concert, Beiber allegedly “created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena” as he “climbed into a heart shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd.” and then, get this: ”then [Bieber] enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms…”
What an ANIMAL!!!!
Betts (or again, her mommy) is claiming $9.23 million in damages. They allege that Stacey suffers from severe tinnitus (ringing of the ears), and hyperacusis, (an oversensitivity to sound).
Bieber’s camp is yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit, but we expect a countersuit to be filed, charging Betts with being a huge pansy.
Okay sorry, we take that back. Concerts are usually way too loud and we’re sure everyone wouldn’t mind if venues turned down the volume a little bit. But $9.23 million dollars? Really? We smell a mommy/daughter duo looking for a major payday – not retribution for the ”loss of quality of life and permanent disability and impairment” Betts is claiming.
